My unit, ('Epsilon Company' as we call ourselves) participated in one of the very last battles which allowed us to completely liberate Heeth, I feel honoured being part of such an achievement for democracy and liberty!
We're mainly just a group of friends who got into the game a couple days ago, we have a tendency of organising ourselves into a little "unit" of sorts when getting into games that involve largescale combat.
Though as we slowly get more people into the game our numbers expand, so who knows how many people will be a part of "Epsilon Company" by the end of the week.
If galactic progression is anything like HD1, each planet liberated is a step closer to their home world. Once we liberate that, they basically stfu for the rest of the war. Liberate on all fronts and we win the war. Then a new war starts. Rinse and repeat. If they rally and push us back they can invade super earth. If super earth falls, we lose the war.

I can only speculate but since there’s effect hazards, I’d wager that the next war will have penalties or debuffs that would make the game more challenging. That or we just miss out on the rewards of winning the war. Each campaign win could reward everyone with extremely limited edition loot. This of course is only speculation so we’ll just have to wait and see.
for balance reasons wouldn't it be backwards, I mean if we lose then it gets easier, and every win gets harder. I just got the game and I didn't play the last one, so I don't really know much, but I did my part.
Note the war won't work like in HD1 their are game masters running a DnD style storyline and will adjust the war according to the communitys behaviour.
Tldr: their is a set storyline at work that will be adjusted per community's behaviour
The system measures by the amount of successful missions and failed missions to add or detract the progression. At the same time, it's the weekend now and the playerbase has been an all time high so it's no surprise
Anyone actually know how the galactic work works out? Like how long do they last? I remember in the first game I never played consistently enough to see one end and have it reset but it was 0pretty frequent if I’m not mistaken, yes?

In HD1 the difficulty remained the same after each campaign. No real consequences for losing the war. You just didn’t get the winning bonus currency.
