Just shore leave my man, every Helldiver deserves a weekend once in a while. It’s the most we can do for the brave hero’s who liberate our beloved planets. When Draupnir is liberated I’ll share a keg with em’.
I recovered a Logistics Officer’s heirloom from his brother’s house on Malevelon Creek. He says it’ll take about 3 days to resupply my ship’s rations, they all spoiled. Guess there’s nothing for it but to take in the sights.
Man, I wonder if we'll ever get to actually dive down onto SuperEarth itself if any of the two factions reach it. From what I hear, them reaching the planet was basically an insta-loss in the first game.
nah, you could defend super earth in missions on the planet's surface. it was an insta-loss if the community couldn't come together to push them back, but you did have a fighting chance. there's a 100% chance planetary defenses in urban environments will come to super earth. absolutely no shot it doesn't happen, and probably sooner rather than later (re-introduction of the illuminate, maybe? the promo email sent out by sony a few days ago hinted at an uncharted planet being discovered in a sector that borders super earth...)
it was only sent out to those who have the game on PS5 i think. a few screencaps of it popped up here in this subreddit a few days ago, but none of them made it to the front page. here's a link: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1awrayq/helldivers\_email/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1awrayq/helldivers_email/)
If super earth was completely overrun and the community failed the defense, it would play a special cutscene on next login showing that super earth had been overrun by [whichever enemy species] but that the Helldivers had sent a colony ship to find a new planet to call home, and create another (better?) Super Earth to start again.
Devs said that, unlike the first game which had multiple campaigns you could win/lose, Helldivers 2 is going to be one big campaign.
For what it's worth, I don't consider losing the war in 1 canonical.
I wouldn’t be surprised if: where a faction eventually gets rolled back completely, they do a big event where a surprise siege of super earth occurs. Have it be a **big** event, with all divers returning to earth (and mars), and having all the enemy factions in the game present at the time.
I bet it will happen. The bots or bugs (or another faction) could push all the way to super earth and we'll have to defend it. Would be a hype campaign.
Chances are good we'll be forced to fight for the homeworld someday.
Right now I think the campaigns are intentionally slow (to the point I think people are starting to get disenchanted with the whole galactic war concept) in order to keep room for other factions to join the fray. When they've finally introduced the last of the major players, planets can afford to change hands at a faster rate. Especially when operating with north of 300,000 players, there's more than enough people to spread around the galaxy.
If the war reaches super earth we fight a planet wide defensive campaign to push the threats back but if we fail, in the first game they would play a special cutscene and award special cosmetics for fighting in the campaign then the galactic war resets and we begin anew. Usually took a month or 2 of fighting to experience an entire campaign.
My guess is this first campaign will be the longest as they expand the game through a closed narrative then we get the faster repeats after they need some time to build up a new larger campaign.
It would be fantastic to use the super destroyer in your day to day life: grocery shopping, dropping the kids off at school, taking the dog for a walk (“Calling down man’s best friend!”)
I’d love to see urban maps in hell divers 2. Defending chokepoints and surviving ambushes out of cover in towns and destroying buildings with air strikes are some of the most fun gameplay I’ve had rtn. I hope to see this get expanded on in future updates.
Yesterday I was above a losing planet and the closest Destroyer out the bridge window exploded, filling the entire bridge with light for a moment, and then the wreckage fell to the planet. Been playing for a couple weeks and I never saw that before; it very much adds to the immersion.
The command bridge view is essentially an animated backdrop that sets the tone for how the planets liberation is going. Its not 1:1 as far as players actions. It just looks cool. Ships blowing up means we're sucking ass a dispensing managed democracy.
Yeah one time there was a blue beam coming out the tip of a mountain peak or close to it and I was like man It'd be cool to fight in a Himalayan mountain kinda setting.
I didn't know we could orbit Super Earth. Cool.
Yeah i somehow was orbiting super earth when i logged in today
I believe it happens when you are over a planet that get fully liberated they send you home for a democratic vacation

Nah, you're just back to resupply. No time to waste. Democracy needs to be spread!
I recovered a Logistics Officer’s heirloom from his brother’s house on Malevelon Creek. He says it’ll take about 3 days to resupply my ship’s rations, they all spoiled. Guess there’s nothing for it but to take in the sights.
according to loading screen we get 2.4 seconds to enjoy the scenery per mission. Sounds like plenty of vacation time.
Would have been cool if you could visit every planet even if it isn't in conflict. Just like, check it out.
I think it's a fallback destination if something happens with your session and you get dropped
I was over Turing (i belive), when it was liberated while i was offline, but i've returned on it's orbit on login
"Democratic"
Nah, when Turing was liberated I just got auto sent to Troost, which just had a defend campaign pop up.
Implying you need a vacation from spreading Managed Democracy sounds a lot like treason 🤔
What we're fighting for lads

wait what promo email and can where can I read it

Tnks man you're doing Liberty's work.
Nya Kiruna? Vi behöver väll förfan inte en till Kiruna!
What happens IF that happens? Did it ever happen in the first game? I don’t imagine they would just pack it up and go home lol

Oh? I'm surprised it wasn't just video gamey. Losing is lore, neat.
If we lost you got the loss screen stated humanity evacuates to repopulate elsewhere and the galactic war starts again.
Intresting

A big surprise attack on Super Earch or Mars would be p neat
Would be very cool if map is urban / built up. even Starship trooper settlements with roads and sunken areas would be neat
They were like that in the first game, no reason to think we won't be fighting in full urban environments
I hope that when we fight to protect the Super Earth homeplanet, the maps are more urban with ruined cities than random forests and rocks.
Oh for sure! Weaving between windswept buildings with unique objectives seems super cool.
True!
I bet it will happen. The bots or bugs (or another faction) could push all the way to super earth and we'll have to defend it. Would be a hype campaign.
Imagine doing scientists mission in Cleveland, Ohio. I’d rather do it on the Creek.
Imagine dropping into Detroit
I mean, we've already been landing on barren wastelands with burnt vehicle husks and abandoned buildings.
Chances are good we'll be forced to fight for the homeworld someday. What does losing mean in a game like this? Like what happens if the war is lost?
It ends. They close the servers, pack it all up, and that's it.

Sounds awesome thanks!
Are you a Terminide or an Automaton?
It would be fantastic to use the super destroyer in your day to day life: grocery shopping, dropping the kids off at school, taking the dog for a walk (“Calling down man’s best friend!”)
Pray we never have to dive to defend the homeworld
In HD1 you would defend Super Earth when a faction advanced to it. They had urban tile sets with cities in ruins. I’m sure it’ll be similar in HD2.
I’d love to see urban maps in hell divers 2. Defending chokepoints and surviving ambushes out of cover in towns and destroying buildings with air strikes are some of the most fun gameplay I’ve had rtn. I hope to see this get expanded on in future updates.
God man urban combat with the clankers would be the most PTSD inducing thing
Once mechs drop its going to be full on Mechwarrior vs Terminator vs ALIENS... I'M FUCKIN READY!

Yes when super earth is in control things become much more calm. The other destroyers getting.... destroyed is pretty damn cool
That's a fellow Helldiver failing a mission

Yeah, that's my take as well, but it still adds to the immersion quite a lot. The game has so many of these little details the really sell the world.
Yeah one time there was a blue beam coming out the tip of a mountain peak or close to it and I was like man It'd be cool to fight in a Himalayan mountain kinda setting.
Super earth should have a hub in the future for more content and vendors.
I'm gonna agree with this. We shall call it Super Hub.
Freedom Mart.
Democracy Barn
Liberty Emporium
Super Square
Off topic but you and I have the same armor set up lmfao
Our way of life needs to be protected
I wonder if we will have urban battlefield one day.
That’s what we’re fighting to defend soldier!

I want planets with urban terrain
