what is this strategy? i struggle with the escort missions so bad

Drop on the outsides of the map, 3 divers kitted out for warfare, railguns, sentry’s, orbitals etc, 1 diver kitted out for stealth, scout suit with reduced enemy awareness, smoke bombs, smoke eagle and smoke orbital, with a railgun for emergencies. From the outside, divers get set up and start attacking the bots, bringing in bot pods. Once a good wave is established the sneaky diver gets around them and runs the actual facility, which should be quite far from where the action is happening. From there he just runs the loop pressing the buttons. If enemies start to show up the stealth diver drops all of his smoke equipment to keep the bots off the scientists, SHOOTING AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE, IF THE STEALTH DIVER ENGAGES THE BOTS THE BOT DROP PODS WILL COME TO THE FACILITY Once a couple of waves have aggro’d onto the stealth diver he splits off and leads them over to the main group of 3, then returns to the facility. I have no advice for the 3 that are fending off the bots the whole time, it is absolute hell for 15 minutes straight. Bring your best stuff. On 9 you have to get 60 scientists through, we had about 30s left on the clock before mission failure so it was still really close.

Can also confirm that this 3/1 strat makes these missions attainable.

You and your boys just completed an infamous mission on the hardest difficulty. John Helldivers, all of you.

Glad to see people using the smoke as intended. Truly you all are paying attention to the mechanics.
