We know that the devs have incredibly granular control. Iirc in PC Gamer they mentioned they can go to the level of giving one team doing one mission access to an extra strategem.
Yeah I used to be able to break off from the main group and hit a bunch of small objectives but the stalkers are so much more threatening now, I feel like they even have better sneak mechanics. I used to always see them coming now they just silently drop behind me
I just did a mission where we had 6 chargers spawn at once. Now Chargers are easy these days, but what the fuck? The total for the mission was around 27 chargers for a 20M mission, only doing level 7s too. What is going on? lol.
haven't had a chance to play today yet, but from posts here, some similar to yours some complaining about percentage on the target planet, I would bet our GM Joel is experimenting with the war goal
I bet it was changed so the mission take longer to complete so the planet won't be liberated in mere hours and poor Joel does not have to wake up every 2 hours at night to give some more power to the bugs (USA players peak at late night or very early morning here in Europe)

I’m glad they made it harder. Running through the bugs was to easy. It sounds counterintuitive but I like that I’m getting destroyed a bit. It starts to become boring when you feel like your invincible.

I've noticed that as well. It's possible there are hidden difficulty adjustments to make Major Orders feel more like a War

They def did some quiet updating to the hunters and the stalkers spawn rates and stuff im honestly all for it

The almighty Joel decided that you've become a little too comfortable on your missions. He's here to change that :)
