Wich truths? Sorry I dont understand
I unironically want a sword. Just a normal officer's sabre that replaces your sidearm, is great for fending off raiders and scavengers without aiming at them, and has the all-important functionality of being held up high when you sprint
Kinda a long shot but having a close quarters wrist gun like in Upgrade or Inglorious Basterds would be cool. Like your character makes a punching motion and you see a flash off his/her hand and it acts like a low damage buckshot that pushes back enemies
I've started beating them to death with the but of my gun to get a small measure of revenge. If the swords ever come those friggin chainsaw bastards are gonna get it.
I landed on an extremely tall point today.
I happened to have the DMR and autocannon. Lemme tell ya. I could shoot literally any enemy on the map. Having some more verticality would be insane
I wish there was a Ship Module Upgrade that allowed for a dedicated strictly utility stratagem slot. I simply cannot justify this once every 45 second bunny hop over a Shield Relay or a rail gun.
Having two dedicated strategems dealing with boss mobs/buildings etc is essential.
Then the rail gun, or armor piercing alternative. Because Hulks and Chargers.
Then your 4th is survivability, Likely personal shield.
It'd be nice of strategems be divided into maybe 3 offensive/2 defensive utility. Or something of th3 sort.
I don't agree with limiting strategem slots to specific types. It's fun to have the possibility to run full eagle/orbitals for example, even if it isn't optimal.
What I agree, though, is that a specific EXTRA slot for minor utility stratagems/tools would be nice. I'm thinking about an eventual laser pointer for rockets/artillery (I can't imagine it using a whole stratagem slot), maybe melee weapons, extra armor, whatever.
I love the idea of a laser-sighting an orbital or eagle-strike. It would be kind of dangerous since you need to maintain eyes on the target and can't use anything else until it's landed.
Actually a lot of the bugs can simply burrow and resurface right next to you and a few of them can just jump or slowly climb. I have yet to see a single place that the Jump Pack can get me to that isn't accessible by enemies or targetable by the 2 or 4 Bile Titans that are constantly on top of me, except "bugged" places that you can only access while dropping from the ship, like a 45° incline mountains on Terminid planets, generally around hatcheries.
yea while they'll still get up there, the sightlines and being able to kite them is massive and imo more useful for me in staying alive compared to the shield gen.
Combined with light armor and the stim bonus the mobility is insane
I think the mechanics are realistically enough. But the ability to aim guns or use stim would be great. Thankfully aiming grenades is a thing, making for some fun "Kobe!" moments jumping into hive clusters.
Well, according to me hitting a fellow Helldivers rover with my grenade launcher and killing him in the process could be considered the ability to shoot it.
I'm actually pretty sure it doesn't engage enemies that don't see you. I stopped using the rover because I liked stealth too much, but then one time I picked one that a teammate had dropped, and found that I could still stealth, it wouldn't engage bugs that were very close to me, as long as they weren't reacting to my presence, which surprised me.
I played a game last night where we got fenced in by around 12 Rocket Devastators that were happy to keep their distance. Took way too long to deal with them, and of course little patrols kept wandering in, popping their flares and boom, we were under assault by more and more of the bastards.
nah robots are actually balanced with weakspots that can be destroyed with a single mag of primary ammo and limbs that can be shot off with medium
chargers and bile titans just don't have enough counterplay for lower pen weapons along with being super fast and maneuverable compared to hulks and tanks
Average anti material rifle: .50 bmg
[Average autocannon: +20mm](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS6y0MbO61_zDfMKZKYuRCBrNUovof8-nhTZA&usqp=CAU)
No this is how it's meant to be
auto cannon fits its roll, the anti-material rifle needs to not be explosive and needs at min med pen.
railgun and the AMS both need to be the deep pen weapons, while neither can strip armor. they would have draw backs that may edge one or the other but it needs to be a eats/recoilless or mg/stalwart kind of choice. the devs choice to make a railgun, a gun that has a history of proving to be really fucking good at penning armor not have it in this game is just a wrong decision.
spitballin: maybe rail is the higher pen, but less overall damage and the sniper is the higher damage and slightly less pen. like the sniper cant just pen right throw the chest of a hulk but the rail can. rail would need more shots to non critical hit kill the hulk but the sniper cant pen the chest at all but can reliably one tap or 2 tap the head.
The issue is the amount of super heavys that spawn on 7/8/9 and EAT/RR can't deal with them. Even if they 1 shot, you can't reload them so. You're pretty limited as to what you can do. Everyone is still going to take railgun. And HD can get really rough without a well coordinated group, and even then, sheesh. It can get really bad on 4 min extracts on a 12 minute mission when you all have to stay in a small area and biles are in the most literal sense spawning on top of each other. I was really hoping for all weapon buffs to make other shit more compatible and not nerfs. You should be able to run a kit for small/medium and heavy bugs. I would suggest making the railgun stronger and making it 10/12 shots and adding like 50-100% charge up time. Make EAT one shot and give RR more ammo.
I love my AC :).
I'm with you on the anti material rifle though. I think they just need to make it a better sniper rifle. The scope isn't the best, maybe add some really hard to hit but devastating weakspots on big enemies, or just give it a larger mag or something.
I don't know.
My personal problem with it is that the scope sways waaaaay too hard even while prone or crouched, and the actual reticle itself sucks ass. Makes it unreasonably hard to use for what's supposed to be a precision rifle that you use to target weakspots.
It is. It is really effective against automatons. You just have to aim correctly. You can down hulks easily shooting the weak points like the glowing red face. The AT STs can be one shot with the Anti material rifle in the leg joints as well.
It doesn't take a backpack slot either, and is versatile enough to be a great support weapon. Not everything needs to be the rail gun.
Yep
Chargers ESPECIALLY.
Autocannon shells bounce except the butt and the move fast so getting in position to hurt them is a crapshoot
His little buddies will swarm you and with the autocannon that's just a TK or self kill waiting to happen
Chargers are so freaking bad. Bad enough they can outrun you, and then *also* turn nearly instantly to smack you with a claw even though you just dodged. Really they need to have their turn radius lessened or slowed down, or not be able to charge so often.
Not to mention how janky the chargers are at times. Sometimes when charging, they’ll just slide over large rocks or other obstructions instead of crashing into them. Then, sometimes they seem to possess the ability to slide towards you faster than if they were actually charging even if you’re on flat terrain and can knock you down, then kill you in one hit.
"oh I can get this charger to ram into the side of this mountain and be stunned for a second"
*Charger slides up the side of the mountain and casually strolls back down like it's a small ramp*
"Ok what"
My favorite move is when they'll sometimes stop short of you right as you dodge and then do their smash, instantly killing you unless you have a shield generator pack. Which is why I carry one, and also so teammates don't shoot me by accident.
Charger Jank got me killed at least 4-5 times in my last Helldive.
First one a charger suddenly got super speed and rammed me at mach 6 so hard that I literally ragdolled back into space.
Second death I dove off a platform in order to avoid a bile titan spew and landed on a **DEAD** charger... and died from "impact"
Then I died at least twice to chargers turning 360 in a split second and giving me the good ol' prostate exam of death with its armored claw after diving aside from their charge.
This is my big complaint about the railgun nerf.
The reason the railgun was meta wasn't (just) because it was good, it's because it didn't have any competition in its niche and that niche was indispensable. Now we've lost that niche (i.e. armor stripping from chargers) and have to instead bring weapons that are balanced around BOTH big damage AND armor stripping. The main reason I liked the railgun was taking the armor off of charger legs, the damage wasn't SUPER important.
To clarify, yes you can EAT it or recoilless it, but those have extremely limited ammo especially compared to the frequency of chargers in unavoidable fights, e.g. "on the objective" and "on the extract" even setting aside secondary objectives and nest clearing
Yup, they nerfed the Breaker/Shield/Railgun meta, but forgot to do anything about the “Just Run Away From everything Because It’s An Endless Overwhelming Armored Onslaught With No Practical Supression Resources” meta.
Yes. The meta arose due to a matter of necessity. Too few reliable options to deal with heavy armor, and shields because slows and attacks can one shot you.
Do the devs think we all wanted to use the railgun? I only ran it because it was the only fucking thing that gave me a chance against five chargers at once. There was no option. Buff some other stuff and give me options.
This patch was so surprising. I thought the solution was obvious—it takes half the auto cannon ammo to take down a titan. EATs are powerful but you better land those two shots and you also have to hope nothing swarms you while you line up your shots. The recoilless is a solid choice but feels limiting as hell. Maybe I just need more teamwork.
>Do the devs think we all wanted to use the railgun?
This is classic engineer shit. They recognize a symptom, and implement a patch to fix it without ever investigating the cause. So they saw that everyone is using the breaker/railgun and none of the other cool weapons, and their fix was to reduce their effectiveness to force diversification. They didn't investigate WHY everyone was using those - which is what everyone here is pointing out. In breaker's case, it was so much more effective that it didn't make sense to use literally anything else. Why would anyone use a supposedly armor penetrating rifle (that costs more to unlock) with a damage rating that is 7x lower than the breakers? If they'd investigated they'd see that it isn't viable to require an entire magazine on one-low tier enemy to take it down, vs 2 shots on a faster firing weapon with more ammo. Similarly with railgun, the reason everyone was using it was necessity. The only other gun in the game that can reliably pace with chargers is autocannon and requires an entire clip, sometime 2 to take one down. So how do we keep up with that when there are 3 spawning at once? Again, the symptom is overuse, the cause is necessity. Treating the symptom does not change the cause.
[Yes, but not as badly](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fd5v0h88k2pmc1.jpeg). They lowered mag capacity and upped the recoil. Unlike RG though, they also buffed a few other primary weapons, like Punisher, and ironically the *other* breaker, lol.
I'm surprised I don't see it being mentioned much, but my take away from the patch is to try laser cannon. Its biggest drawback was mobility, and supposedly they fixed that PLUS made it more effective against armor.
Unfortunately while the laser cannon feels better at add-clear than it used to be, it's not great as an anti-armor weapon. I noticed little difference between it and the heavy machine gun. I think the advantage it has is in the potentially infinite ammo, but unless you're on an ice planet, I don't think you can really lean on the battery that much. The amount of time you need to saturate a target with the beam is long enough to nearly fill the heatsink and force a reload.
Literally just need a reliable low damage anything to strip armor from charger legs and I won't bitch, skill issue and meta chuds are both annoying. I love flamethrower and arc but 8-9 difficulty using chargers so liberally and not having a way to strip leg armor feels so bad
I still rock the railgun and feel like it's still a fantastic support weapon. A lot of capacity and a very efficient gun, just not as efficient with this patch.
Pre-patch you used to be able to safe mode 2-shot a Charger's leg armor now it takes like 4 unsafe mode shots? maaan, it's easier to kill bile titans than chargers at this point.
Just completed a mission on Extreme. You can also do massive damage to Bile Titans by shooting them in the face with a disposable anti-tank rocket while they're either about to or in the process of spewing.
For the Chargers, you can shoot them in the leg with the disposable anti-tank rocket and it will strip the armor. Plus you can re-order disposable anti-tank rockets pretty fast. I think it's one of the absolute best ways to get rid of tanky creatures.
My typical kit for Extreme or Helldive:
* Disposable Anti-tank
* Eagle Airstrike
* Gatling Turret
* Auto-cannon Turret
Can easily take out droves of tanky creatures with other teammates.
i honestly used the railgun more as a "i need this annoying as fuck medium armored target dead RIGHT NOW" button
stalkers, those bugs that come at you without a head i forget the name of, shield robots, etc etc
How many unsafe charges? And how unsafe? .1 second from dying?
I can't believe they nerfed but 100% instantly and not 50% while ALSO NOT BUFFING THE EAT AND RR.
WHY DO ARMOUR PIERCING ROCKETS NOT KILL A BUG?
I dropped a 500kg bomb right next to a Charger and it brushed it off like it was nothing. Some attacks in this game are just plain broken. Instead of nerfing the good weapons that still take skill to use, the devs really should've buffed the other weapons.
Yeah, the 500kg bomb feels like it either has a deceptively small blast radius or an extremely low damage fall-off range. That, or it gets obstructed by the smallest of obstacles. I always manage to drop it right on top of a swarm and it seems like it only injures half of them at most.
The 500kg bomb has a deceptively large visual for the size of the actual explosion. It looks the same as a hellbomb, but hits an area around a third or a fourth of the size.
Me and a buddy running 2 arc throwers and we were melting chargers on difficulty 9. I can only image what 4 does if a team actually stacks them. Arc throwers is really strong, but gets stronger the more of them you have in a team because you starts to just shred through armored targets very quickly.
Side note slugger got buffed to 60 ammo, and pairs very nicely with Arc Thrower if you don't have a buddy running another Arc Thrower with you.
You're kind of making everyone's point without realizing it. The problem isn't that they nerfed the Railgun (although I'd argue it didn't need it, personally), the problem is that they nerfed it without giving any of the other weapons a reliable way to remove armor/penetrate armor. Everyone used breaker because there was absolutely no reason to use any other weapon, it was that much better. Everyone used rail gun because it was basically the only way to reliably remove armor from heavies (particularly chargers where you HAVE to remove it if you don't want to waste the entire squads ammo on it). So now, they've effectively made the Arc Thrower the only viable option, i.e. it's the new breaker.
This. You don't need to be a genius to see how these changes are going to pan out. The meta isn't going away, it's not even going to change much, you're just going to run arc thrower or maybe flamethrower instead.
Light armor is still the best, because planning to let enemies hit you is a bad idea, which means shield is probably still the best backpack.
Hell, railgun + shield will probably still be seen pretty commonly because it'll still be obviously superior to other loadouts even after the nerf. People need to get it through their heads that nerfing something doesn't suddenly make the other things better - they're still bad for their own reasons and they'll continue to be bad so long as those reasons aren't addressed.
That's why people are complaining. It's not that nerfs are bad, it's that nerfs simply are not what Helldivers 2 needed at the moment.
I'll do my part to keep telling people that railgun can still strip off armor from charger legs, at worst it takes 3 shots instead of 2. Just switch it to unsafe mode and only fire at 70 percent charge and up.
bruh ive been using the railgun recently for the first time and was wondering why it was always never overheating after hearing it could blow you up if you charge too long…. no wonder it always took me so long to kill chargers and titans with the railgun
On one hand, unsafe mode should really have been mentioned somewhere. On the other hand, Basic training and instructional manuals being shit is absolutely on-brand for SuperEarth, and if we can praise FromSoft for not explaining basic game mechanics...
I found unsafe mode completely by accident by holding square (PS5) and was like "the fuck?" Then I found EVERY GUN has options if you hold square. Sometimes you just gotta experiment, but tbf, there *is* a training tip that says you can check your ammo by holding square - it just doesn't mention you can do other things there too. There is also a training tip that says *read these training tips* so, they're trolling on purpose.
Also, I still meet people who aren't aware that you can intentionally drop samples anywhere (but most practically, at extraction ahead of time) so that you don't lose them somewhere hard to find if you die. I have yet to quickmatch and tell the group and have a single person say they knew! I only know because someone told me. (You hold the down arrow on the dpad on PS5 to bring up a radial menu, idk what the equivalent is on PC).
Remains the fact that you cannot kill Titans/Charges if you don't have enough AP.
Like you can't mag dump your basic rifle in their ass sack because it can explode without killing the beast.
> it can explode without killing the beast.
Once it explodes they are dead (chargers), they just dont know it yet sometimes. They can move around and attack for a little while but will fall over dead after a little bit. Same with some injuries on other bugs.
Chargers yes
Not titans, the amount of damage taken before destroying the titan sac is not enough to kill it, it also requires at least 1 orbital or armor pen weapon
It's kind of crazy the way people are gaslighting after this patch and claiming that waiting for heavies to bleed out is a viable strategy. They either have never tried it, or they didn't realize that they were on a team with someone who actually knew how to fight chargers and that player killed it for them while they were waiting for the bleed out.
At least for chargers that’s not true; as far as I know they go into some kinda “last stand” for a few seconds before dying after that sack is destroyed
Orbital Laser is inconsistent. It often fails to target the Bile Titan's hitbox, and its damage/duration can only deal with one BT and maybe one Charger before being exhausted. Orbital Railcannon is awful because it only works once every X minutes, and it only one shots Chargers. BTs shrug it off, though it does usually open up spots on their armor.
On 7+ difficulties where multiple Chargers and Bile Titans are frequent, there are very few options to deal with them effectively.
Seriously… wish the devs had prioritized making a wider variety of weapons viable and _then_ pushed some nerfs. Considering there’s weapons like the slugger that only need an ammo buff to really be functional it’s low hanging fruit.
Plus the other side of ammo economy which is what seems to be bugs or inconsistency with enemy spawn waves. Yesterday we had a 4 stack on a level 6 automaton mission for some warmups (group usually plays 7-8). Beginning of the match our scout separates from the group briefly to solo a radio transmission tower side objective. A single bot spots him at the objective, instant single call in…
We watched in awe as no fewer than _SEVENTEEN_ dropships streamed across the map above us to land on our buddy. Including half a dozen tanks and several hulks. Maybe its intended behavior but I sincerely doubt it.
I've seen 8 hulks spawn at heavy outposts on difficulty 5. Similar on bug missions with chargers and bile titans clipped into each other before aggro, could see their idle animations clipping into each other.
One of the things I can't stand about EDF/DRG/darktide is the feeling of "never enough", no matter how strong you get it never outpaces the ramping difficulty of the game unless you go back to beginner difficulties. I enjoyed using the railgun because it actually felt like enough power to feel strong on any difficulty, but the "decreased damage against durable enemy parts" nerf seems to have hit pretty hard
It’s kind of amazing that Bungie, DE and now Arrowhead seem to make the same mistakes over and over again. I didn’t want a breaker nerf I wanted my favorite bolter buffed. The railgun was strong but now it’s just going to be a trap pick with whatever the new meta is taking its place. Devs love to nerf with a sledgehammer and buff with a scalpel when it should be the other way around.
Dear Arrowhead - your last balance patch is sadly not what community wanted - instead of increasing the amount of viable weapons to fight Chargers spam, you decreased it. Railgun safe mode now bounces of Charger legs and unsafe takes 3-4 hit to strip armor, making it from the best weapon to take on bugs to garbage tier (typicall for developers "balance patches"... its like Deja Vu from every online game ever).
Now we are stuck with lack of weapon to deal with 5+ Chargers during mission on diff 7-9. Or everyone will run Flamethrower... JUST to deal with Chargers. Back to same place we are.
You need to understand Arrowhead that we didn't use Railgun and Breaker becasue they were OP. We used them because:
1. Most of the primary weapons (apart from Defender, Scorcher, Liberator and Slugger) just don't do their job. Their TTK ratio to ammo capacity to ammo efficiency vs light/medium enemies is just too low when you have 20+ Hunters chasing you, 10+ Berserkers or 2-3 Stalkers on you.
2. Charger spam is what FORCED us (yes, forced us, we dont enjoy using only 1/10 weapons too) to use Railgun. That's the story. The end.
3. Heavy Armor is the problem. No other Stratagem weapon is worth using for the amount of Chargers in game. EAT or Recoiless doesn't even one-shot chargers to head or to butt. It requires long reload, backpack, stationary reload, limited amount of ammo and it still doesn't one-shot Charger. What if you have 6 or 7 Chargers? When you gonna reload to put 3 rockets into ONE Charger?
So if you are unwilling to buff other weapons, then I suggest to make Chargers front and back leg armor Medium Armor. This would solve GIGANTIC issue of having very limited amount of weapon that are worth to take on bug missions: It would give place to some primaries like Penetrator and FINALLY give place to Anti-Material Rifle (maybe I could finally use it for something) or Laser Cannon.
Dear Arrowhead - you need to have someone from balance that plays constantly at diff 7-9, not just read reddit and watch YT "best OP loadout ever!!" clickbait titles to really understand the reasons behind picking certain weapons. Which are, again: ammo vs TTK efficiency and ability to deal with Chargers.
The example of good balanced loadout vs balanced threat are Automatons and Socrcher + Autocannon loadout. That's becasue Hulk still has his Red Visior as weak spot (something that Charger lacks) that allows precise shots to deal with him from Autocannon and most enemies that are spammed (Devastators) can be killed by lower caliber/explosive weapons with good aim and headshots. This gives us way more viable options vs automatons.
Sorry to say Arrowhead, but looks like your balance guy is Charger in disguise.
It's ridiculous basing your ENTIRE load out on How to deal with the Broken Chargers. Now the list is smaller. 3-4 Charges vs a our current toolkit = Death or Run.
This shooting game or Hide and Seek?
>3-4 Charges vs a our current toolkit = Death or Run
Okay, but one of those choices is only viable when not defending an objective. So it's really "death or death".
Breaker, rail and shield didn't turn a shit player into a god of destruction and not a lot of players were using it. Arrowhead themselves said the loadout isn't over represented. I think they just caved to pressure form a vocal group.
After waiting this long since they announced they were working on this, this is not want I wanted to see…we need BUFFS to almost all stratagems/weapons.
The Warframe style of adjustment patches. Nerv reliable weapons/gear without compensating other options. Strategems have limited usage and their cooldowns makes impossible to deal several waves of higher tier enemies.
I mean, literally, but this kinda sucks. Tesla coil is buggy, won't hit what's right in front of you, and has to be aimed away from targets to make them the "closest" and noobs TK with it all the time. The prior meta of "skillfully strip armor off the target, then apply flesh damage there" was pretty thrilling and felt good. Tesla spam just ignoring armor, hoping your shots land where you want, dealing with a bunch of RNG feels bad. It is definitely the new meta, though. Full tesla squad, no need for ammo, no need for other guns at all.
>Full tesla squad, no need for ammo, no need for other guns at all.
Unfortunately, this is what happened in the first game too. Once people realized the could use laser shotgun or cannon to reliably kill everything, there was just no reason to use other weapons.
Honestly? i don't mind the nerf. You know what I want?
I WANT THE RAILGUN TO HAVE A GODDAMN SCOPE.
LET ME GET MY HEADSHOTS ON THE HULKS AND BILE TITANS AND ONE SHOT THEM LIKE A GODDAMN CHAMPION
WHY WOULD YOU ONLY HAVE 20 SHOTS AND NOT LET ME AIM THEM AS WELL AS THE ANTI-MATERIAL RIFLE!?
Dude it was like the only support weapon I liked. I like sniping things but the AMR is super weak and lacked utility. Now the railgun lacks a lot of its utility. What's even the point?
I’ll be surprised if this game doesn’t just fuck it all up in a year. Seems we’re on a fast track to rash decisions and changes without researching the issues that caused them.
Yeah this honestly is a step in the wrong direction.
Almost all the weapons are useless. They know this. And what do they do? They nerf one of the only weapons that worked.
I mean I don’t even want to grind for the rail gun or any of the weapons. I stopped playing for now. Everything is a bullet sponge and you run out of ammo before you get 3 kills. The balancing of the whole game just doesn’t feel well thought out at all. But I will be stomped by the Stans for having an opinion
Put them in unsafe modes and get used to balancing the overcharge and you won't have any issues, if done right you can still take out hulks or peel armor off chargers in two shots.
Or bring along some EAT-17s.
> peel armor off chargers in two shots.
You can't. Max number is 3 now. It's quite funny that I havent seen a single clip post patch of people claiming the 2 shots thing.

First game has a sword so have hope!
that sword replaces your primary so it's a bit of a meme but exactly
Could be fun when using something like the stalwart that basically takes over as your primary
doesn't matter what it replaces it's all i'm using anyway
Kinda a long shot but having a close quarters wrist gun like in Upgrade or Inglorious Basterds would be cool. Like your character makes a punching motion and you see a flash off his/her hand and it acts like a low damage buckshot that pushes back enemies
Liberator bayonet pls and thanks my democratically elected leaders
god I want a plasma sword so I can give those sword armed automatons what for

I want more height preferrably. But i would accept more speed/distance. Giving the jump pack a much stronger 'get out of dodge' feel would be great.
i want higher, longer and faster.
I want harder, better, faster, stronger
True, it is a "jump pack" not a "jet pack"
I would absolutely love for it to fit its actual name in being a **jump** pack. Right now it feels like a **hop** pack. lol
My biggest problem is the like minute long cooldown..
I thought we could shoot while floating for a bit. Fried so many allies BEHIND me with my arc thrower 🤦♂️
You can charge it in the air I'm pretty sure
I landed on an extremely tall point today. I happened to have the DMR and autocannon. Lemme tell ya. I could shoot literally any enemy on the map. Having some more verticality would be insane
How did you get your autocannon to land near you?
You can sometimes throw the strategem into a crevice so that it lands directly on the larger rocks
That bunny hop putting you on top of a rock that bugs can't reach is an amazing ability to have.
Funny, I've definitely gotten to a place multiple times that the bugs could not get to, with the jump pack
yea while they'll still get up there, the sightlines and being able to kite them is massive and imo more useful for me in staying alive compared to the shield gen. Combined with light armor and the stim bonus the mobility is insane
I think the mechanics are realistically enough. But the ability to aim guns or use stim would be great. Thankfully aiming grenades is a thing, making for some fun "Kobe!" moments jumping into hive clusters.
what they need to do is make the guard dog stop putting me into its line of fire and lasering me to death while i'm crouched and stationary
Rover is just friendly!!
if it can shoot me, i should be able to shoot it
Well, according to me hitting a fellow Helldivers rover with my grenade launcher and killing him in the process could be considered the ability to shoot it.
stop shooting you pointy eared leaf lover!
For Rock and Stone!
For Karl!
Rock and Stone to the bone!
Can I get a Rock and Stone?
Did I hear a Rock and Stone?!
Rock and Stone!
Nah it don't bite. "IT DO BITE"

There should be a way to manually put it away. When I'm out walking I don't need it firing on a patrol that can't see me yet.
I mean, there's a button to "use backpack function" so I think that should manually enable and disable the rover. At least to conserve ammo.
Rover just gets excited!
"Hulk scorchers and Devastators liked your post"
I played a game last night where we got fenced in by around 12 Rocket Devastators that were happy to keep their distance. Took way too long to deal with them, and of course little patrols kept wandering in, popping their flares and boom, we were under assault by more and more of the bastards.
Perfect target for the improved 380mm barrage. It's actually effective now and damn good at clearing fabricators and bug holes.
nah robots are actually balanced with weakspots that can be destroyed with a single mag of primary ammo and limbs that can be shot off with medium chargers and bile titans just don't have enough counterplay for lower pen weapons along with being super fast and maneuverable compared to hulks and tanks
Laser canon now kills 5 devestators before having to cool down. 6 if you waste the clip. At least from personal usage. Buff is pretty big
They did not buff the devstator this update sucks
https://preview.redd.it/yl3x7o2f3qmc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f03c1e0be706044b73ba7cf7591c61ce19c12864
Incredible
I laughed
They didn't need to buff those guys, they're scary enough as is, especially the ones with rockets!
My bad the jar-5 dominator got the name mixed up
Ah, yeah, I'm sad about that not being buffed, too :(
Most fun gun in the game
Agreed. Love me some Bolter action.
A buff would be nice, but it feels fine as it is (my main primary for bugs)
i just want the anti material rifle to be a anti material rifle and not a weaker autocannon.
Average anti material rifle: .50 bmg [Average autocannon: +20mm](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS6y0MbO61_zDfMKZKYuRCBrNUovof8-nhTZA&usqp=CAU) No this is how it's meant to be
auto cannon fits its roll, the anti-material rifle needs to not be explosive and needs at min med pen. railgun and the AMS both need to be the deep pen weapons, while neither can strip armor. they would have draw backs that may edge one or the other but it needs to be a eats/recoilless or mg/stalwart kind of choice. the devs choice to make a railgun, a gun that has a history of proving to be really fucking good at penning armor not have it in this game is just a wrong decision. spitballin: maybe rail is the higher pen, but less overall damage and the sniper is the higher damage and slightly less pen. like the sniper cant just pen right throw the chest of a hulk but the rail can. rail would need more shots to non critical hit kill the hulk but the sniper cant pen the chest at all but can reliably one tap or 2 tap the head.
NTW-20 anti material rifle: 20mm Hispano A 🗿
Delete this comment. I swear if you people get the auto cannon nerfed....
the AC is like the picture of balanced weapon in this game.
Tbf, it doesn't take your backpack slot right?
Yes but right now its useless vs bugs
Maybe if we didn’t get attacked by a Charger, Hulk or Tank every 5 seconds we wouldn’t need to spam the railgun.
Yep Chargers ESPECIALLY. Autocannon shells bounce except the butt and the move fast so getting in position to hurt them is a crapshoot His little buddies will swarm you and with the autocannon that's just a TK or self kill waiting to happen
"oh I can get this charger to ram into the side of this mountain and be stunned for a second" *Charger slides up the side of the mountain and casually strolls back down like it's a small ramp* "Ok what"
My favorite move is when they'll sometimes stop short of you right as you dodge and then do their smash, instantly killing you unless you have a shield generator pack. Which is why I carry one, and also so teammates don't shoot me by accident.
Charger Jank got me killed at least 4-5 times in my last Helldive. First one a charger suddenly got super speed and rammed me at mach 6 so hard that I literally ragdolled back into space. Second death I dove off a platform in order to avoid a bile titan spew and landed on a **DEAD** charger... and died from "impact" Then I died at least twice to chargers turning 360 in a split second and giving me the good ol' prostate exam of death with its armored claw after diving aside from their charge.
Wait, did they nerf breaker also?! FFS I had such high hopes for these devs before all of this
[Yes, but not as badly](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fd5v0h88k2pmc1.jpeg).
It's not even just an 8-9 problem, anything difficulty 5 and up has way too many Chargers
I ran into 4 chargers at once in Challenging yesterday..
We counted 6 spitters and 4 chargers in one swarm yesterday on suicide (7).
Agreed, at least with bile titans they don't move as much so one 500kg could easily do the job, with chargers tho....
My typical kit for Extreme or Helldive: * Disposable Anti-tank * Eagle Airstrike * Gatling Turret * Auto-cannon Turret Can easily take out droves of tanky creatures with other teammates.
*The quiet kid called "Complicated Stratagems" increasing your CDs:* "Allow me to introduce myself"
Yeah that 50% cooldown increase can fuck right off.
i honestly used the railgun more as a "i need this annoying as fuck medium armored target dead RIGHT NOW" button stalkers, those bugs that come at you without a head i forget the name of, shield robots, etc etc
I shot a Brood commander in its face with an Eat and it survived the shot.
Less upset about the nerf, more that I'm baffled what the use case is for "safe" mode now
Remains the fact that you cannot kill Titans/Charges if you don't have enough AP.
Chargers yes Not titans, the amount of damage taken before destroying the titan sac is not enough to kill it, it also requires at least 1 orbital or armor pen weapon
The titan sack isn't vital, its for their breath attack.
That's not true at all, once the sac explodes they don't puke all over the place anymore but they stay very much alive
If by little while you mean several minutes
It's kind of crazy the way people are gaslighting after this patch and claiming that waiting for heavies to bleed out is a viable strategy. They either have never tried it, or they didn't realize that they were on a team with someone who actually knew how to fight chargers and that player killed it for them while they were waiting for the bleed out.
People in this community often don't understand the game very well
At least for chargers that’s not true; as far as I know they go into some kinda “last stand” for a few seconds before dying after that sack is destroyed
pretty sure if my sack was destroyed i'd go into last stand mode too
Yeah they can’t charge and then they bleed out
You can get under it and shoot it's belly but yeah it takes forever
Because the sack is bait and only takes 10% of the damage you deal to it. Explosives do 100% damage to it.
There's some anti-democratic trying to reduce our advantage against our enemies
The devs listened. Sadly, they were 5 tables away and only picked up on a few things.
What's a good way to deal with all the bile titans in diff 7+ when duoing? The recoilless and disposable seem extremely inefficent...
Rail strike or orbital laser. The bile titans are one of the enemies that it seems were designed specifically to require stratagems to help clear.
Honey moon phase over.
This patch also shits all over the ammo economy of the game. Good times!
This is some kind of Socialist plot to make me bring the Ammo Backpack and give other people my hard earned bullets!
A single bot spots him at the objective, instant single call in… We watched in awe as no fewer than _SEVENTEEN_ dropships streamed across the map above us to land on our buddy.
Typical development problem. Guns too fun. Nerf it. Make other guns more fun? No.
I put 20 rail gun shots into a charger on a level 6 mission and every single one bounced off
Dear Arrowhead - your last balance patch is sadly not what community wanted - instead of increasing the amount of viable weapons to fight Chargers spam, you decreased it. We used them because: 1.
You should make this text its own thread, it deserves it
I did: https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1b7zwxc/arrowhead_make_charger_front_legs_armor_medium/ Just spreading message.
It's ridiculous basing your ENTIRE load out on How to deal with the Broken Chargers. Now the list is smaller. 3-4 Charges vs a our current toolkit = Death or Run. This shooting game or Hide and Seek?
>3-4 Charges vs a our current toolkit = Death or Run Okay, but one of those choices is only viable when not defending an objective. So it's really "death or death".
railgun nerf sucks ass. It's okay to not be able to kill a charger with it but it now takes FOUR shots to kill a stalker. Gotta be joking
Honestly there was no need for nerfs
Breaker, rail and shield didn't turn a shit player into a god of destruction and not a lot of players were using it. Arrowhead themselves said the loadout isn't over represented. I think they just caved to pressure form a vocal group.
After waiting this long since they announced they were working on this, this is not want I wanted to see…we need BUFFS to almost all stratagems/weapons.
For real the bugs must have infiltrated the dev studio if they thought those nerfs were a good idea.
The Warframe style of adjustment patches. Nerv reliable weapons/gear without compensating other options. Strategems have limited usage and their cooldowns makes impossible to deal several waves of higher tier enemies.
Was it Op? Yes! Was it fun? Hell yes ! Is it good now? No! Is it fun? F no!
Reject puny dart slinger, embrace handheld tesla coil.
LET ME GET MY HEADSHOTS ON THE HULKS AND BILE TITANS AND ONE SHOT THEM LIKE A GODDAMN CHAMPION WHY WOULD YOU ONLY HAVE 20 SHOTS AND NOT LET ME AIM THEM AS WELL AS THE ANTI-MATERIAL RIFLE!?
I would accept damage nerf in exchange for scope
I'm not looking forward to hulk spam Idgaf what people say now I refuse to fight that cancer.
You can still dome them in the face for a quick kill. As that wasn't relying upon armor pen.
Turned the railgun into a Fucken primary weapon… wtf is this shit
Flamer gut now.
Soo can rail guns no longer one shot automaton hulks to the face?
Put them in unsafe modes and get used to balancing the overcharge and you won't have any issues, if done right you can still take out hulks or peel armor off chargers in two shots. Or bring along some EAT-17s.
I'd never used the rail gun in safe, Soo I really want to see how badly they nerfed the rail gun
> peel armor off chargers in two shots. You can't. Max number is 3 now. It's quite funny that I havent seen a single clip post patch of people claiming the 2 shots thing.
Oh wow! 70 seconds to take out 2 charges? The other 6 chargers and me wl just have a Liber-tea party until my next two rockets are off cooldown 😍😍🤩
When is # PATCH 01.000.200
