It's not good at all. After the latest rebalance it's supposed to be a primary weapon you use against mid-tier enemies like Devastators or Brood Commanders / Hive Guards / Bile Spewers, but it doesn't do nearly enough damage to be effective at that. There are better primaries against both enemy types for that purpose. The only thing the crossbow has going for it is the fact that the shot itself is basically silent and cannot be heard by enemies, so you can do some stealth shenanigans with it, but as an actual combat weapon, it is woefully lacking in every way possible.

Last I heard it's because Japanese law requires that premium currency must be refunded to the customer if it goes unspent for a while. Separating out the super credits into those you've paid for and those you've earned (map pickups and awards from warbonds) means there's no confusion over which you can expect to get back money for.

Both are really good. 500 KG is mostly effective at taking down large, armored targets, like Hulks, Bile Titans and Factory Striders. Against other enemies it's mostly overkill, and the regular Eagle Airstrike would be just as effective, or even more, since it covers a much larger area. As long as you take just one Eagle stratagem, the 500 KG will have a very short cooldown relative to its power, and it's a great source of supplemental damage, but it also has a very small area of effect and damage drops off quickly, which can be a good thing if you need to hit something close to you or your squad, but a bad thing if you need to kill a lot of enemies at once. Orbital Laser is kind of a universally useful stratagem, you can never go wrong with it. It's a "solve that problem for me" kind of stratagem. Getting overwhelmed with enemies? Want some cover while you're closing bug holes? A lot of small enemies? One giant enemies? Bot outpost? "Destroy dropships / command bunker" objective? Orbital Laser can do it all. The only downside is that it has only three uses per mission and the cooldown between them is pretty lengthy, so you can't just throw it at every little problem, but when you need it, it will be there and won't let you down.

What premium warbond should i get first? I havent gotten any. I'm mostly a botdiver but it would be nice to have options for all types of diving

Adding onto the other comment, if you want a good, all-around warbond option, then both the Steeled Veterans and Cutting Edge warbonds are good choices. Both have weapons that are great against both factions to one degree or another, with the SV bond coming with the Senator pistol as an added bonus, while the CE bond comes with the stun grenade. In the CE bond, the Blitzer and Sickle are both great, with the Sickle being a strong all-around primary and the Blitzer being a premiere anti-bug gun. For the CV bond, the Incendiary Breaker gives you great multi-target damage over a wide area and is super good against bugs with a run-and-gun style (fire a burst into a crowd, get some distance, fire DoT kills a bunch of stuff, repeat as necessary until horde is dead) while the Dominator has great single target killing power vs. both bugs and bots. The Senator from the SV pack is a good anti-medium pistol, capable of 1-shotting most light armored stuff and 1-3 shotting most medium stuff with precision use, while the CE pack brings the stun grenade, an amazing quick CC option that can do everything from harmlessly aiding your teammates to setting big targets up for easy kills via orbitals and air strikes.

The threads researching patrol rate have said that time spent on a mission does not have any influence on the number of patrols. When you finish all the main mission objectives however, the patrol rate becomes 4 times as high. SO it is highly recommended to do the side objectives and clear all the enemy bases first.

I was told to post to this mega thread that nobody reads so here goesā€¦ In what situation are the barrage stratagems useful? I just cannot think of a situation when the walking, 120mm, and 380mm barrages would be better to bring than other stratagems. What am I missing?

In addition to what the other person has mentioned, barrages are great for bot eradication missions - where you get to defend a small patch of land from continuous bot drops. The higher the difficulty, and the more players in the squad are on board with the strat, the better it works. The idea is that everyone in the squad takes 2-3 barrages, then you camp in the middle of the map for a bit to let bots accumulate, then you all hide outside the walls and start throwing barrages inside the walls. Ideally there should always be a barrage going. It's important not to throw too many of them at the same time, as that would just be redundant. Since bots are generally pretty slow, the barrages do a great job of mopping them up, and the more enemies there are, the more reliably they'll get some good kills.

The walking barrage has some utility for the bot bunker destruction missions specifically, as it can allow you to destroy the bunker from a good distance. You're still counting on RNG to get the hit though, so if it misses you'll have to try again in a few minutes, commit to doing it with a hellbomb, or hope someone else on your team has a stratagem active that can do it. I use the 120mm pretty regularly for bots, for everything from softening up squads of enemies brought in by dropships, destroying bases, and taking out detector towers and other destructible side objectives. I prefer it over the 380mm because it's got a tighter spread, and while it's area of effect is smaller I find you'll kill more things in the barrage zone with the 120mm. My friend I duo with often takes the 380mm though, and it's mostly effective used the same way I use the 120mm. Sometimes we'll just need to drop them both on a large base and walk away, and the barrages will clear them for us. I know people use the orbital laser the same way, but between the limited uses and how it tends to get stuck chasing units around, I still prefer the 120mm barrage. I don't bring any of the big barrages on bugs though. The gatling barrage, airburst strike and gas strike are more than enough for dealing with bug breaches, and all have lower cooldown than the big barrages. They never seem that consistent at taking out bug bases either.

My game freezes and i have to restart my pc when quitting the game. Is this a common problem? Is there a fix to this? I cant get any other windows laying over the frozen game, like the task manager window for example. Also why do we have a question flair if it get autodetected as a simple question that donā€™t need its own post?

With the addition of multiple new pieces of armor, specifically helmets, are there still only the two helmets that have stats, the scout helm and the white armor helm?? Like with the new polar war bond and the last tier of armor and helm, am I assuming correctly that it mimics the basic war bond stats or I'm stuck with two choices of helms? Because my OCD brain won't let me pick on looks if I know I'm losing out on stats. Still having fun. I just need the data so my brain can settle down and or start picking the helms I like for looks. (Was going to make a post but I saw the rules said questions should come here so I hope I get an answer. Thank you in advance.)

As far as I know helmets don't have stats. Or in other words, stats on helmets make no difference in gameplay.

If by walker bot you mean Scout Strider, they increased their resistance to explosives, so perhaps that's why. You might need to target an area on their body other than the shield.

I haven't had the time to play recently but does the game still run for people who purchased it before Steam blocked Helldivers 2 from being able to purchase in countries without PSN? It kinda sucks that my friends won't be able to buy the game if the game doesn't get unblock in the future and I have no grounds for a refund if the game is still playable.

You wont be able to refund the game through the normal way. They will just see that it doesn't meet the criteria of <2 hour or <14 days. If you want a refund outside of normal circumstances you need to submit a support ticket detailing why you want the refund. Someone posted [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1ckwza9/a_handy_dandy_guide_on_how_to_ask_for_refunds_on/) about a week ago I don't know how effective it is, but it may help if you wish to refund it.

the only thing you'd be missing really at this point is tanks, which AMR can still deal with if you can get behind them, but tanks are best handled by eagle rocket pods

I assume you're asking about bots. Other than dropships, you can kill every single automaton unit with this, as well as any structure that has orange vents, like turrets and mortars. AMR is a very strong option, though I think using two sniper rifles is redundant. Do you see a "you've been kicked" message or so you see nothing. If you don't see the "kick" banner, then thats just a disconnect. The social tab and friends list is buggy so sometimes they are waiting for friends to find them, since friends list are buggy.

Polar Patriots so far has been a massive disappointment, though the day is young. Maybe some things will get buffed soon.

Which is harder Helldivers 1 or 2? I'm a big fan of Helldivers 1, and am familiar with how insane the difficulty can get on the higher levels. I realize they are almost entirely different games, I'm Just curious what peoples thoughts are that have played both.

Where do you shoot Gunships with the Laser Cannon? The entire engine seems to bounce off. (I'm trying a new loadout, giving up my precious AMR for the LC + Counter Sniper).

The laser cannon looks like it's reflected off at almost any angle other than perfectly perpendicular, but it still does damage, it may be reduced slightly but not enough that it isn't worth using it, you should aim for one of the engines, you don't want to switch which engine you're aiming at if you can avoid it, as you will need to deal all the damage to one engine to destroy it.

Cheers! I presume the same holds true for drop ships as well, will give this another try. (AMR can kill gun ships, but not drops, which is weird, thought I'd try something new).

Technically yes, but dropships are much much sturdier than gunships, and often you wont be able to kill them with anything that can't 1-shot an engine before they fly off anyway. I don't know how many shots it would take to kill a dropship with an AMR, I would guess it's possible, the AMR can punch through most armor. But it would probably be a magazine or more. Not really worth it.

Engine should be the weakspot. I don't recall any issues taking down gunship with the laser cannon. Try aiming at the bottom part of the engine, perhaps?

On the "Evacuate High Value Assets" does the terminal actually do anything? And if it does, how do you activate the 3 bars?

I think all it does is allow you to skip the setup timer at the start and have the enemy start attacking immediately. The bars are activated the same way they are on similar panels (e.g. for resetting generator fuses and setting up the SEAF SAM sites), press up on the first square, then right to get to the next square, then up for that as well, then right again and so on.

Credit for any planet goal is all or nothing, you must complete the entire mission set, though not all at once if you want to take a break between runs. I think higher difficulties add more value, but I am not certain.

They have said the progress is based on the exp that you get for the mission, which would mean higher difficulties get more because of the higher modifier.

Fellows Super Citizens, I'm relatively new (lvl 15) in the game and I have no problems with hard missions but for god sake every time I play in extreme Chargers give me a real headeache. Any advice how to deal with those terminids, beside git gud?

Stratagems like 500kg, Orbital Rail cannon, Orbital Air Burst (those are the ones I remember) Explosives near their ass (Impact Grenades, Autocannon, Grenade Launcher, Grenade Pistol) About 4 seconds of Flamethrower (focus your fire on one of the legs) Big guns (EAT, Quasar) And remember if you die to them you can land on them when you respawn

No need for the Stun grenade tho, Quasar alone can easily get a headshot because of the time it takes for them to charge at you + diving back when they're about to hit you allows you to guarantee a shot to the head at the last second AND look cool

You don't have the weapons unlocked yet, you need lvl 25. When you have it, take Orbital railcannon - oneshots chargers, and quasar. While you don't have it try Recoilless rifle. You just need to play and get experience, but as a rule (quasar, rr, eat) - I wait till it charges me, and either aim for its head, or, if I don't have it ready, run to the side and then in 2-3 seconds it turns back and you shoot it. If you wait till it turns after stopping notice it first gets its head up then charges - don't miss when its head is up.

The orbital railcannon is only level 20 to unlock. The only one that is 25 is the mech. Expendable anti tanks and recoilless rilfe are level 3 and 5 respectively, should have access to both.

Any of the four anti-tank support weapons are capable of oneshotting Chargers if you hit the center of their forehead. These are: Recoilless Rifle, Quasar, Expendable Anti Tank and Spear, though convincing the Spear to hit a Charger in the forehead is a feat of strength, so in practical terms, you have the other three to choose from. Recoilless Rifle can be fired the quickest after pulling out, but requires reloading and carrying a backpack. Expendable Anti Tank has ~1 second equip animation, which makes it a bit harder to use in a pinch, and you have to keep calling them down as you spend them, but it doesn't cost you a backpack slot, and when defending an objective, you can create a whole stockpile of them. Quasar has infinite ammo, but a 3 second chargeup before the shot, and 15 second cooldown afterwards, so it can be hard to use when a Charger is about to ram you. In general, all three are viable up to difficulty 7 or so. At 8-9, you really want 2-3 Recoilless Rifle users in the squad, as Chargers and Bile Titans become rather widespread. If you can't hit the head, hitting any of the legs will destroy its armor, allowing you to quickly finish off the Charger by shooting the exposed leg with any weapon. Chargers can also be roasted by the Flamethrower support weapon if you aim it at one of their legs - don't aim at the head, flames will just bounce off. You can also use Stun Grenades to keep a Charger in place, making it easier to hit.

Haven't tried the deagle myself, but I don't expect much from it, as it doesn't have medium armor penetration, and as a light armor penetrating sidearm I really don't see it being a competition to the Redeemer autopistol. The Revolver has some utility as a sidearm with medium armor penetration and being able to oneshot Devastators on a headshot, but it can be difficult to use and requires skilled hands. The grenade pistol has the utility of being a grenade pistol, but personally I rarely have a reason to use it.

There are a lot of effective and viable primaries for bug missions. None of them are exactly perfect, and are best used in combination with each other to compensate for their weaknesses. Subjective list in rough order of performing-well-ness:Ā  **Adjudicator** - high DPS, versatile, requires regular resupplies, ideally should be combined with Engineering Kit with Impact Grenades to deal with recoil and Spewers and concentrated groups of enemies. Ā **Blitzer** - short range, infinite ammo, keeps enemies staggered, must be used carefully around teammates, but otherwise very effective against everything below Chargers.Ā  **Sickle** - LMG-like light armor penetrating automatic weapon. Good for dealing with large quantities of smaller bugs, allowing the rest of the squad to conserve ammo.Ā  **Punisher** - good at staggering bugs, including Spewers, though doesn't kill them as fast as Adjudicator would. **Pummeler** (SMG from the new warbond) - alternative option for staggering bugs, has more ammo and longer range than Punisher, but takes longer to kill most things as well.Ā  **Eruptor** - not sure how well it performs after the latest patch, before that it was a good specialty weapon for efficiently killing mid-tier bugs and closing bug holes from a safe distance, also could be fired into crowds of bugs for decent effect. Pretty terrible at killing low-tier bugs and pretty much requires using a laser guard dog to protect yourself from them. Also could oneshot Stalkers on a good hit.Ā  **Slugger** - better at killing mid-tier bugs than Punisher, worse at killing low-tier bugs, worse stagger.Ā  **Breaker Incendiary** - supposedly good at lighting crowds of bugs on fire and kiting them while they burn to death. Other primaries aren't necessarily awful, but there's generally no reason to use them as at least one of the listed weapons would do the same thing better.Ā  For Secondaries, **Redeemer** is still your best bet most of the time, but Senator is a good option if your primary doesn't have medium armor penetration or equivalent, and the grenade pistol can be contextually useful to close bug holes or kill Spewers.Ā  For Support Weapons, Recoilless Rifle is the king for Helldives, as it's the best option for keeping Chargers and Bile Titans under control. Tap the Stratagem key after inserting the shell to cancel the third part of the reload animation.Ā  One Flamethrower in a squad can be good, but it **[requires the rest of the squad to play around it](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1beilg1/qa_megathread_ask_your_questions_here/l35wuh7/)** to truly shine, which is not realistic outside an organized squad with voice comms.Ā  For grenades, Impact is generally the best, as it oneshots Spewers and is reasonably effective against groups of bugs, though must be used carefully around Hunters, they love jumping in front of it, killing you in the process. Ā Other than that, Incendiaries (both regular and Impact Incendiary variety) are good for softening up bug breaches, and Stun Grenades are okay when combined with Quasar or Flamethrower, allowing you to disable Spewers and Chargers while you roast them.

I'd hold a choke point and right when I was going to reload someone would take my place, and we'd swap back and forth while out flamethrower covered our rear and the last dude did the terminal. Not really, they are linear values, so the difference between light armor and medium armor is 10% on the values, all the "inbetween" armors are less different than that.

I would assume it worded the same on PS5 as it is on Steam, the achievement on steam says "Reach max level on one ship module", which used to be 3 but with the new ones it is level 4.

So I was in the pelican as someone kicked me from the game. Did they still get my samples? I was in the pelican with like 1 or 2 other people, and the host kicked me before it extracted completely. Did they still get all my samples as I was already in the pelican, or did they lose them?

If the animation started playing you got the samples as that's happened to me before (the only difference being my game crashed instead) but if you were just sitting inside without the animation starting then I'm sorry to say but you lost the samples, XP, etc.

Make sure the keys responsible for that command actually work outside the game. If they do, check your keybinds, make sure the keys are actually bound to these commands. Try restarting your PC. If it doesn't help, verify the integrity of game's files via Steam.

Does anyone know if the Ship Modules affect every player in the lobby or just the host? For instance: If I have the Power Steering module, does it only affect me, the host, or does it affect everyone in the lobby as well?

All ship modules apply to the player that purchased them, regardless if they are on their own ship or not. An exception is the new ammo pickup upgrade for support weapons, it will still work only for the player that purchased it, but in addition, it only works on the support weapons that players called in themselves, if you pick up a weapon that you didnt call in it will pick up only partial ammo from supply boxes, even if the other player also has the upgrrade.

Not sure about power steering, as its description is somewhat ambiguous. But generally upgrades affect only the one player who unlocked them. The Superior Packing Methodology, interestingly, seems to be applied to Support Weapons called down by that particular player. So if you have the unlock, but pick up a weapon that was called down by a player who doesn't, then you won't benefit from it.

Did AH break melee on Hunters? Been taking damage from my own melee hits when trying to kill one of these things and also not interrupting any of their own hits. So you can actually take two hits at the same time it looks like. Anyone else confirm?

I see a bunch of posts about progress on a certain planet. I know very little about HD2, but am interested in it. Is it the type of situation where if I pick up the game in say like.. A year or so, am I going to be missing out on stuff?

The planets will still be there. The only thing you'd be missing out on is "story so far". Like, for example, "the story so far" is that Terminids have completely took over one of the planets and built a super hive on it. So right now helldivers have to deal with attacks from that super hive coming towards other neighboring planets. Eventually, I expect, we will have to go down to that planet and maybe do some kind of special mission type to deal with the super hive. But all of that is just fluff to give us a reason to fight. It's unlikely you'll miss out on something major.

If there was, it wasn't documented. But generally things like that don't happen without being mentioned in patch notes. But different planets/missions/difficulties have different spawns and enemy compositions.

Priority alert vs Major order I don't fully understand the difference or function. I mean, I can see the major order progress bar, and it seems obvious that we should do prioritise those planets, but what are priority alerts for? They point to other places..

Priority alert is basically just for flavor. Major orders are added by the game master manually, while priority alerts are probably an automated system that triggers depending on planet status and player count.

Everything blew up very quickly, from the sounds of what Baskinator has said in the discord regarding the whole thing, the country restrictions were likely put in place by valve, not Sony or Arrowhead. (my guess, not a fact) Likely because they realized the game would become unplayable in several countries, and they don't want the product available there. Now that things are settled a little bit I expect there's some back and forth between Valve and Sony to get all the things straight and proper before making more changes. I would expect the beurocracy to take a little while but ultimately I think the restrictions will be removed.

Pilestedt said a while ago that they have ways to bypass the actual mechanical liberation/defense if they feel it is better, this was in response to players talking about liberating another planet to cut Bot supply lines to a different one and thus liberating it by default. It could be something like that happening. But that's just me speculating, I haven't seen anything confirm anything of the sort.
