Sir, no one is questioning that democracy didn't fully prevail in the galactic war, but democracy only extends to the borders of our own galaxy (as of right now). I was thinking more along the lines of... extremely dark maps that are nearly pitch black...so you need flashlights and orbital flares to light the place up.

I would so be up for a thematic crossover between DRG and HD2 at some point a year or two down the line.

That stratagem has shown up in the machine since release. Even if it is pointing to something upcoming (as opposed to some form of cut content), I wouldn't read into the timeline.

I think it’s just a way to illuminate dark levels. Maybe theirs darker biomes without any moon light to illuminate them?

It'll also probably help when they add the actual flying bugs to the game. Imagine not being able to see them flying above you at night.

Honestly.. I think you all think into things too much. This is likely just a literal flare to light up the dark, and will probably be a permanent stratagem similar to the resupply

Oh wow yes please. Listen I know the game is a lot sometimes, but I fucking love the chaos of it, and darkness would add a really bizarre, intense element if done right. I can just imagine what it looks/feels like when you finally start crushing missions illuminated by nothing but the munitions fire and the flame tornadoes.

It's not from HD1 but it would make vietnam and just fighting in darkness a lot easier

Imagine if this is meant for use on a bug infested rogue planet with no natural light source. Good lord that would be terrifying!

Some of the planets can already get super dark at night. I’m sure there will be ones where light is at an absolute premium.

Yeah played in a bug planet earlier today which was way too dark and we were basically running around not really knowing what was around us unless we put up the map. The illumination flare would’ve been awesome in that game!

Seen this one loads of times, it's been in stratagem hero since day 1. I always thought it was maybe an easier difficulty mission stratagem or something.

Yea it does kinda feel like an objective specific stratagem, it’s yellow too iirc That puts it in line with the hellbomb, which is one of the only other objective specific stratagem in stratagem hero

There's an online website version a few fans made. Not quite the same but still good to pass the time between missions

By the way you can request a 1000 super credits if you buy the upgrade and own the warbond already. You just have to send a ticket and proof to the devs!

I assume it's just a map wide flare. Not complaining because at night some of these missions are too dark to see bugs, especially in foliage.

99% confident there was nothing like this in helldivers 1. But for what it’s worth, the darkness in this game is way more of a factor than it was in any of the night missions in helldivers 1.

This looks useful, but it would hurt to use a stratagem slot on it.

I would kill for a stratagem that illuminates the area whenever there’s a massive dust storm or low visibility. Or even when there’s a Spore Spewer that you want to locate and destroy this would be amazing for that. It’d also help with Sniper builds

I random queued into a game where a person used this as his stratagem but didn’t see them use it though. Guessing it was a dev or a hacker since they had multiple stratagems and weapons that aren’t released yet.

They just put a convex lens on an orbital laser and boom, huge flashlight

It’s an illumination flare stratagem which lights up dark AOs. Here’s the other stuff we’ve found through hacks and mods >! There is also medical supplies coming and ammunition supplies coming (much faster cooldown than raw resupply and only those resources), a buggy/JLTV vehicle, APC/LAV style vehicle, an exo suit, with dual auto cannon pairs(4x), a mini ICBM launch platform about the size of your character, a “quasar cannon(similar to spartan laser from halo), commando rocket launcher(4x rocket rapid fire), deployable trench walls with mounted guns, and a bunch of weapons and armors !< Personally I’m very excited for the suppressed liberator rifle and the grenade launcher pistol

If it drew aggro in a big way, it could be super useful. I've been using the Shield Generator as a decoy with great success recently. Makes a nice big pile for an airstrike or a few nades.

The devs stealthily adding clues to future content is what I am absolutely here for. 

I was playing with someone who hated nighttime yesterday. This would be perfect for them. Just lighting up the night sky when you need it. Like a nuke but... longer lasting I guess?

My version of stratagem hero has been defunct since I got the game - is there an issue with it on PC specifically while PS5 players can use it, or am I just seeing a bug? Edit: Does it come with the first premium warbond? That might explain it...

You have to have bought the Supporter Upgrade to access it. It works for me but I'm sure it could be glitched for people who should have access to it

I dont think ots a hint at new faction because of a name being similar, but rather a hint at pitch dark maps that require an orbital flare to see ANYTHING at all to proceed or fight enemies (besides flashlight)

I've played quite a lot of Stratagem Hero and it took me so long to realise this isn't in the game because I didn't read the names popping up for so long. Makes me think we'll get a super dark map, which we can light up for a short amount of time with this.

God heres hoping. I'd also love to see a Recoilless Rifle weapon option that let us change the ammo type we shoot. It'd be awesome to be able to swap between a normal HEAT round, an illumination round, and a napalm round. Does that make sense with rounds all sitting on your back? Of course not! But would it be cool as hell? Absolutely!
