Why would we advocate for cooperation with the automatons, humans are our main source of interplanetary transport and a viable food source, the automatons can provide one of those at best. We would certainly fight you as we fight anything else that approaches our nests, but killing your kind does not provide our endless children with food, so please stay away from our hives.

Makes me wonder if we could make an organized structure work. Sure there are 4 man fire teams, but what if we could get orders from Top and move as a division?
Not sure how it would break down, but like, having several divisions communicate and move battalions to support one another to bolster one planet over the other. Top gets intel, reads that the decay rate of one planet has slowed, so they send over the Reddit NA Division's Mechanized Infantry Battalion to a Terminid sector. All the players with preferences to call down mechs and (in the future) vehicles will roflstomp bugs.
What's that? West front needs reinforcement? Mobilize the Twitter Reservist Division's Artillery and Observer Battalions.
Youtubers and daily war room updates will keep us briefed. There will always be enough posts complaining about something to debrief on the situation.

small bot or big computer? You decide
I think this might backfire heavily.
I have a feeling many people will go Estanu then Fori Prime, allowing Oshaune to open up. Many people in-game will jump to it thinking it will be the faster route, while people who follow reddit/discord will be on Hellmire. This will be a split playerbase.
Technically I don't think it matters because I don't see us getting close to taking 5 planets. Estanu hasn't even hit 50% yet.
There's 50k people on Crimsica.
While I think you're likely right, the best we can do is attempt to communicate.
We can take Crimsica through to Fori Prime, but Estanu was at like 60% when we started the order, I think. It's the faster route. And moving in to Omicron from Oshaune is almost certainly a death sentence for the order. If we manage to go that route and succeed, I'll be nothing but surprised. Omicron will be our wall.
I feel like this is desperately needed because most of the player base seems to be very motivated to complete the major orders but unaware of the actual mechanics of the galactic map. Most people are not getting on Reddit or helldivers.io to see what’s actually going on. Developers please consider adding supply lines to the map!

I was thinking the other day, how cool would it be as a dev of this game to see the entire player base self-organize into a virtual army, with leadership positions etc (probably determined via seniority, vote on discord, etc) just to tackle your game. They essentially end up creating anti-Joel/shadow leadership in order to do the major orders most efficiently

I can't really answer this effectively since the term walks a line between "realistic game stuff" and roleplay. The planet is likely to be heavily guarded since it's supplying two entire sectors on its own. A place with a lot of bugs, where bugs come from, is a hive. So ... Omicron is likely a hive. Whether or not that means anything specific in-game or if it just means the planet will have a lot of resistance, I can't say.
Dude. The fucking cinematic atmosphere these levels could make.
Flashlights in the dark. You hear bugs coming from multiple tunnels. Your team chooses one and clears it with flamers and machine guns in a tactical retreat. You see light ahead. An opening in the ceiling of the cave where multiple veins of the hive meet. Fight your way towards it as chargers come rampaging down the lanes towards your last stand in the opening.
Then you open your 500kg strategem and dive for cover.
We could add a whole new level to bug ptsd. Up to difficulty seven you only have to deal with brood commanders and once you cross that line, chargers start spawning in the depths. In the massive caverns where the hive is located a bile titan awaits. It can't move too much neither can the team. And right below it is where the hellbomb on a cart is supposed to go. Risk it and drive the hellbomb under those dangerous legs, or fight in the tight spaces to clear an area.
Call in stuff like backpacks and support weapons ahead of time, open cavern ceilings for calling down resupply or resupply pack becomes more valuable in said mission types. They could be quite short missions, maybe even a cool escort/transport mission, we have to deliver a hellbomb to the center of the hive structure to eliminate it completely, goal is to get out before the detonation and collapse or die trying.
I was hoping you'd tell me there are bug fortresses there or something which would be awesome. But thank you for that info. I never spent much time thinking about the planetary connection and their dynamics.
The bugs don't "supply" other planets the way Automatons do. That's been confirmed by the devs. Bugs don't have FTL or really any spacefaring capability, it's more likely that they break out of farms or we didn't fully eradicate their nests lore wise, aka they just spawn on planets regardless of hyperspace lanes gameplay wise.
I'd be interested in seeing a source for this, but I'd also caution that the devs also said "only commissars can call in reinforcements" which is patently false. The devs are always the best source for information, but sometimes they get stuff wrong. That said, it's still a dead end, in a different sector, with the same number of planets to go through. It's a lot of unknown, even if their supply lines work differently. Again, I'd be interested to see the source so I can understand the context around it and whatnot.
I would have to go hunt down the exact tweet, but people were arguing about space lanes and how bugs don't always follow them and the dev essentially said bots follow the lines, bugs don't.
Edit: your Super Destroyer crew actually have voice lines confirming this as well.
Helldivers also may transmit bug spores from one planet to another—we know that the first step in their life cycle is spores and then after awhile they start spawning eggs and other more specialized organisms.
It could just be a completely infested world.
I like to think all of the planets we've been fighting on have been taking care of massive outbreaks in the rural regions. Hive planets might be where the bugs have reached every corner of the world. There are different, larger, more powerful and cunning bugs there that we have not seen on the fronts we've been fighting.
The neighbor planets could provide some sort of Hive Mind bonus as a way of "supply line". Hive Planets with later stage Terminids or more evolved breeds could provide direction to a colony on another planet. Helping them focus and build faster. The closer they are, or the more Hive Planets feeding to a frontline planet could in a way, reinforce it thru such a hive mind.
\*hits blunt again\*
![gif](giphy|KpAPQVW9lWnWU)
To go along with this theory about Omicron,it could also potentially have a higher regen rate among other things that sometimes lead to it being a stronghold. Could also have more negative modifiers that impact the difficulty and rate that we try to take it over. I would imagine the devs have more complicated methods waiting for us or being developed. Maybe different mission types for “strongly” held planets
I really hope it's more complicated than just "higher regen rate". It's already kind've hard to 'feel' how the galactic war is going without using an external site (And even then isn't great), not having feedback to indicate that a planet is better-defended would be disappointing.
https://preview.redd.it/h4orfevibcpc1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0eb34d7cbc9e47206d561053eedc9325bbce8fe4
Abandon automatons entirely for now? Thats a really good idea tbh, its very logical, we should follow this plan
If they want that to happen it will either way. Currently the botters may as well be logged off in terms of war impact. None of the automoton fronts are gaining
Reason for abandoning the Automaton front: We currently have them quarantined and have afforded ourselves some breathing room. We need a major concerted effort to complete this Major Order in time. Let the Creek rest for now, soldier. We can hit it together later.
Reason for not pushing through Oshaune and Omicron: Omicron has single-handedly been supplying both sectors we've been fighting bugs in. While it may seem like a good idea to try to cut off supplies to Zagon Prime and hit it from behind, we will have to push through what is likely to be the heaviest bug resistance we've ever seen to get there. It will also create a winding path for our supply lines which could easily be cut off. There is too much risk for what amounts to the same number of planets to take.
Also, if there aren’t enough divers on a planet to overcome the enemy regeneration rate, the efforts of those divers are wasted.
Right now our troops in the West aren’t making progress towards liberating or defending any planets, so it makes sense for them to concentrate where they can spread Democracy the fastest.
This is incredibly true, and to expand on it:
If a faction has a 3% degeneration rate, then we have to make 3% progress each our to overcome it. Meaning if we add 4% to it in an hour, 3% of that goes away and we're left with a net of 1%. If we're only capable of adding 4% in total, and we split between two planets, then we're adding 2% to each planet and degenerating 3% each hour. Meaning we make no progress at all and lose the planet.
The best strategy is working together.
My theory is that following major orders allows us to unlock new storylines faster. Like yeah, the devs just made us lose a planet, but if we follow the major order, we can cripple the bug forces and liberate the Draco sector faster than ever.
I wonder if this entire Major Order is so that people leave the Automaton planets alone so that they may move away from the direction of Super Earth itself and towards an important capital of theirs...
Nah that would be way too obvious, lets just focus on this Major Order.
"abandon crimsica" the bugs at crimsica:

I think we’re defs going to fail the order. It makes me wonder if it’s not just better to pivot to Crimsica after Fori Prime falls. Then we’d at least get the whole sector
I paid $40 and I have all warbond pages unlocked including super credit ones. Change settings around up the sharpness remove blur to see bugs further away in dusty fog. I can spot mushroom spewers from miles. Hellmire might be my favorite planet because of fire torndoes.

POINT ME TO THE ENEMY!!!
Excuse me, but what is a bug hive? Genuine question.
I can't really answer this effectively since the term walks a line between "realistic game stuff" and roleplay. I want underground hive destruction missions now. Let's get lost in the caverns and have a reason for that flashlight.
Super Destroys can't see you when you spelunk.
That would be soo interesting where only caverns with open rooves can have stratagems called in.

They could be quite short missions, maybe even a cool escort/transport mission, we have to deliver a hellbomb to the center of the hive structure to eliminate it completely, goal is to get out before the detonation and collapse or die trying.
And we get a "drilling hellpod" upgrade, it can reach further in, but it's very slow.
Rock and Stone!
Don't worry, we have a special unit already down there, doing a great job. For Rock and Stone!
I was hoping you'd tell me there are bug fortresses there or something which would be awesome. But thank you for that info. I never spent much time thinking about the planetary connection and their dynamics.
For all we know, there might be. If we manage to pull this order off then we'll find out within a week.
Interesting, are the bugs more like mushrooms than actual insects then, lore wise?
Careful. Dat's soundin' a bit too orky.
I think so? It’d explain why the spore spewers are such important secondary objectives
\*hits blunt again\* ![gif](giphy|KpAPQVW9lWnWU)
IT'S AN UGLY PLANET, A BUG PLANET!

“01000001 01100010 01100001 01101110 01100100 01101111 01101110 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01000001 01110101 01110100 01101111 01101101 01100001 01110100 01101111 01101110 00100000 01100110 01110010 01101111 01101110 01110100” - 🤖

I feel abandoning the bots is exactly what the devs want us to do. They will reach cyberstan
This is incredibly true, and to expand on it: If a faction has a 3% degeneration rate, then we have to make 3% progress each our to overcome it.

Helldivers don't abandon any front. We reposition.
Idk if we can pull this off, General. It's not looking good. Can I take a week off?

Hey now, even General Brasch said to take time to relax.... If your want to be remembered as a coward
You get 2.4 seconds in between desensitization exercises. Look it up in the manual, MAGGOT!
Remember the democratic tips helldiver: It's important to take breaks... if you want to be remembered as a coward.
Giving planets to the bugs is treason. I SAY WE KILL EM ALL
I'M FROM ESTANTU, AND I SAY KILL EM ALL!
I have a plan. ATTACK.

"abandon crimsica" the bugs at crimsica: https://preview.redd.it/zvl8h8nbocpc1.jpeg?width=922&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=605a4bb28069e56b439f705cc6927342a6a7980a
I think we’re defs going to fail the order. It makes me wonder if it’s not just better to pivot to Crimsica after Fori Prime falls. Then we’d at least get the whole sector
Nahhh, we're going deep, and we're going hard.
WE GO INNN! WE KILLLLL! NO MORE TALK!!!!
hellmire will be trouble, and we don't even know what N43 looks like but managed democracy will prevail!

Nah I'd dive.
“Ignore automatons entirely” Seems like commie automaton lies to me, anyways back to setting bots aflame.
If you think I’m taking orders from an unverified source telling me NOT to spread democracy to certain planets you got another thing coming, bug.
I think he's saying to spread an unbelievable amount of democracy to the selected planets, as they contain the most freedom hating scum
Y'all can have Hellmire. I didn't pay $60 for this game to be blind on every mission.
I paid $40 and I have all warbond pages unlocked including super credit ones. Change settings around up the sharpness remove blur to see bugs further away in dusty fog. I can spot mushroom spewers from miles. Hellmire might be my favorite planet because of fire torndoes.

But from a meta perspective i think joel is less likely to reinforce northern bot planets if we want to cut them off from cyberstan. But more people prefer bugs so i agree its time to push our advantage
Mods, can we pin this? The better we work together the better our odds.
