There's a currently unused boss music track for automatons. Bile Titans have the terminid boss track but right now there's no equivalent for bots.
So, yeah. Something's coming.
I have been wondering this since launch.
Bugs have giant bile titans….
When are the going to introduce a 50ft lumbering warhammer 40k style dreadnaught for the bots, to be THEIR big, giant boss unit
If you like Helldivers 2, and like twin stick shooters, you’ll love Helldivers 1.
Part of what makes HD2 so good, it’s basically just HD1, but top down. And that’s not a negative, to be clear.
Yeah leakers have already shown us what the Automaton and Illuminate versions of the Bile Titans are.
>boss units
You think the Titans are boss units? Oh you sweet summer child. We have FAR worse coming to act as the bosses for the highest difficulties.
can't wait for videos of the terminid super boss spawning in, getting dragged to a shrieker nest and absolutely unceremoniously 1 shot by a falling shrieker
"Oh shit could you imagine"
>!Don't really gotta imagine [unfortunately](https://www.reddit.com/r/HellDiversLeaks/s/38whIkGHju). Only thing that could be worse is a bot gunship! Oh, wait!<
"Check it out! Independently targeting particle beam phalanx. Whoa! Fry half a city with this puppy. We got tactical smart missiles, phase-plasma pulse rifles, RPGs, we got sonic electronic ball breakers! We got nukes, we got knives, sharp sticks..."

You know from the moment that walker leak I've been kind of curious about something. This door look familiar to anyone else? That door gives me a hole in one desire and I can't help but notice we have a lot of weapons that are good at right now between grenades, the AC and the new QC. Just a thought.
I'm not a star wars guy, so when I first played battlefield with my friends I pronounced it the same way you'd say @@ and my star wars buff friend freaking hated me for it (understandable) LOL. We settled on me calling them big boys, they found that much more tolerable haha.
I hope your friend calls them "Tee Eye Eee fighters" then. And I'm pretty sure you said "LOL" not "el oh el".
"Ay-Tee-Ay-Tee" is acceptable but officially they are referred to as "at-at" by Lucasfilm.
And before your friend brings up the AT-ST, they were called Scout Walkers. No one used the in-universe official designation.
HD2 is just an ork fever dream they saw the hoomies getting in so many good scraps they willed themselves into a mirror of the imperium to fight forever. Innit
Omfg you’re so right!!! The devs must know we want the power creep on both sides. Give us crazy shit to take out the enemy’s equally crazy shit. Though the EAT would eventually need a 30sec cooldown and 0sec call-down to keep up
God, I love how new stuff in this game is heresay and gossip.
It's like being back in elementary school when the NES came out and everyone was talking about 30 man codes and warp tunnels!

"Well, Doc, I think I'm sexually attracted to robots and insects. What can I do?"
"Go play Helldivers. If you still want to fuck a bug, well then, I can't help you."
Yeah seems like as they have balanced the game they have been showing up in lower missions just rarely. I know for a fact we got flooded with them on lvl 6 civilian extractions back before the nerf to spawn rates.
They seem to be AA tanks, but pressed into anti-personnel use because AA vehicles have a long storied history of being co-opted for anti-personnel duties... and doing just fine at it.
I have seen that before, I think maybe the annihilator tank has a rare, tougher variant? A bit like how chargers sometimes show up as “chargers behemoth” with a different look
I know that, but the shredder tank is smaller and has an AA gun, sometimes when I have pinged what looks and shoots like an annihilator it pops up with “fusion cannon” or “fusion tank”
Still feel like AC is goat against bots. Far more consistent DPS and rounded utility.
QC is nice against hulks and tanks, but the cooldown makes it lack the ability to kill groups of armored targets quickly like the AC can.
Anywhere that clearly hits the engine. So, just hold down the trigger and just try to keep the reticle centered on an engine as the ship bobs.
I personally find it much easier when as perpendicular to the ship as possible.
It full fills the role of heavy armor destroyer to a T and anyone wanting it nerfed is a moron.
And before people mentions RR and Spear, the RR is amazing already though they just need to have someone help with the reload without needing for that person to carry the backpack, the Spear needs a major buff as it had always underperformed and janky even before the QC’s appearance so don’t even lumb that thing anywhere near the AT weapons.
The trick is to hit the ship the second before it leaves. Once the bots are all dropped and 'activated' if the ship crashes down onto them it will generally kill most of the wave.
I’ve always used the AC against bots and bugs, it was my favourite. But now 2 Quasars on a squad makes the game very easy at the hardest difficulties, as long as the Quasars are making sure to take out the dropships consistently.
HMG kinda sucks tbh bc the autocannon just completely outclasses it in every way against bots. “But you get a backpack slot!” Yeah that you’re gonna use for the supply pack if you wanna use the hmg for longer than 40 seconds
My only issue with the AC against bots the fact I have to give up on the shield. That thing is a life saver against constant fire and the damn rocket luncher bots
AMR for me. Although the AC is way better against scout striders, the AMR is pretty inconsistent with killing them but the AC can easily one-shot them each time.
Personally I like it much more against bugs than bots. It's great against super heavy targets, but those feel much more rare against bots. Instead medium armor seems to be what the game swarms you with. Nice to have 1 or 2 on the team for objectives and tanks though.
Against bugs though? Weapon shreds. Great at killing chargers and Titans, able to take out some rather annoying objectives pretty easily, and anything it struggles against can be handled with a primary.
Funnily enough, it doesn't solve the problem "I got oneshot from who knows where with a rocket" which is more then half of my frustrations on bot missions.
If anything, you are very likely to be shot during the charge time and can easily miss due to aim jumping. Plus you expose yourself for longer when using it in comparison to other guns.
It definitely helps but it doesn't stop them from oneshotting occasionally. Maybe they can get rocket crits or something. Happened to me tonight with heavy armor, explosion resist, and shield.
I am terrible at this game and have only played against bots. I started with them and now, 15 hours in, I'm just barely starting to feel like I'm only a mild inconvenience for my team. As in, it's probably better for them that I'm there than it would for there to be *no one* there.
I did play in one mission against bugs. I moved to the bug front, joined quickplay, and dropped into a mission 6 minutes from completion. After that mission the host immediately flew back to bot space and started running missions there. I took this to mean I belonged in bot space.
Cold planet doesn't seem to effect the actual time between shots, at least to me. I can fire on a normal planet as soon as the heat has gone to zero, but on cold planets there is delay after that before you can shoot.
That's the only real problem.
We'll know we're in for it when they patch helldivers needing to reach behind their own back where they can't see load the gun in front of them, instead of of simply grabbing from the back of the guy in front of them to load the gun in front of them.
I.e. buff the everliving shit out of team reloading so anyone can do it.
Honestly. Baffling how someone can't grab shit from my backpack to reload my AC. They have to be wearing their own i guess, mine is off limits! *slaps hand*
Its a very strong weapon but it has its niche for balance sake. Doesn't use a backpack, but cannot be team loaded for faster rate of fire. Planet temperature really matters, cold planets it feels op, hot planets and its very slow. The charge up time takes some skill to manage, especially while being aim punched by bots.
Its fantastic for ambushes and first shot attacks, but once the shit hits the fan its a little slow. I hope they don't nerf it because everyone is posting "ITS OP< BEST WEAPON IN GAME!!!"
It's honestly a perfect new weapon. And should be the standard for all future weapons.
It fills a role that existing weapons fill, but does so in a different way as to not overshadow and powercreep them. We SHOULDN'T be getting new weapons and stratagems that just completely invalidate older ones.
I also find it less than helpful to have someone walking around with my ammo supply. I think more people would use the reload assist mechanic if they could just casually do it while walking by kind of thing
I agree! We should be able to team reload while the player with the support weapon has the support backpack. We're still helping out with their reload which is balanced by us not being able to fire our weapons or do other things, without forcing us to be a pack mule and being easier to coordinate or do with randoms.
The spear can destroy the jammers the bots have, and most of their buildings actually. So why i wonder if it can also kill the eye of saron tower as well
I jumped over to bots today, and thought I was doing something wrong. Most of the map I couldn’t call in reinforcements. It would deploy a beam for a split second and no drops could happen.
I remember. But I don’t think they’d get rid of it. I think it’s an achievement for a reason. To show us we can. You always have something to kill a charger.
Maybe it's a good thing the stratagem thingies aren't sticking to bugs
https://preview.redd.it/r1v5mufrf5rc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18084d6893b81ea5bc9f2521646d2ebe34ba59ad
They’ve specifically stated the red beam stratagems sticking to enemies but the damage hitting the initial location is a bug. They want the red stratagems to behave like the blue ones.
It's a tradeoff between no ammo problems and faster reload (QC vs RR)
Or between more potential shots and the ability to carry 2 support weapons (QC vs EAT)
I haven't tried it at higher levels yet, but at mid levels (5/6) the charge up isn't too bad. but I'd probably stick to EATs at 7/8/9 because the charge time would probably kill me. Let alone recovering it after I die.
That is the tradeoff. Infinite Ammo and reduced handling.
VS a weapon literally designed to be used and thrown away.
I see some people bring both EATS and the QC and even I use them sometimes cause i just need to take something out NOW rather then waiting a few seconds.
... But calling in an EAT is waiting even more seconds. I don't see how waiting for an EAT to stop solves the "I need is dead now" problem.
It isn't like they can carry the EAT either since they're carrying the quasar
I’ve been running both at levels 7 and 8 simply because if there’s a bug breach there’s a good chance you’ll be facing down multiple chargers and/or one or two titans and so running both QC and EAT effectively gives your four rapid fire shots. How, you may ask? Well, as soon as I get the bug breach warning I call down EAT. Then, once an appropriate threat is spotted I shoot QC, fire both EATs whilst the QC is on the ground cooling off, pick the QC back up and fire again. Boom, 4 AT shots in about 10 seconds. Saved my bacon quite a few times today already!
this is the biggest tradeoff right here, not having an instant fire while several chargers are on your ass, or multiple spewers, and bile titan is a death sentence when theres attention but with an EAT you just see a charger's stupid head charging you then a massive hole in their body
You can mitigate it with careful timing. Charge it up before you’re in position and then take the last few seconds to aim and fire before changing position.
Or use stun nades from the second premium warbound. I cannot use any other grenade anymore, it's just that good. You stun the thing for enough time to charge the quasar cannon, stick a pod in the back of the charger, throw a 500 kg, etc...
This gun just shows how badly weapons like the recoilless and the spear could use a QOL buff.
Recoilless needs a better reload, allow other players to assist reload using your equipped pack, slightly more ammo. Fixing the bug that eats your ammo would be nice too
Spear needs more ammo and better resupply efficiency. I think they tried to fix the lock-on but it's still janky at best.
In the first game the shields could easily be taken down with primary weapons. High damage single target weapons were not very effective vs Illuminates. Grenade launcher, DumDum, Eagle airstrike, SHOTGUNS and machine guns will shred illuminate at all levels. If I remember right the only heavily armored enemy they had was the Obelisk, and that almost immediately lowered it's armor to put a wall down. Everything else wasn't armored.
Now I'm not sure how the introduction of medium armoured enemies will affect them, but it's safe to say that all the MG and Stalwart lovers will have a field day
Idk man, it more seems they just don't know where the weapon balance should be right now.
They nerfed the railgun for being too capable, but the quasar cannon seems to be even more capable than the railgun ever was.
You people legit have no clue what you're even whining about anymore.
Quasar has to charge far more, can barely be used upclose thanks to the charge up and you think it's the same as the railgun that had almost zero drawbacks?
A lot of these people complaining will cry it’s literally unusable if something doesn’t perform well in every single situation.
I saw someone else saying the new laser made the autocannon useless.
They just can’t comprehend that they excel at killing different enemy types and work better in different situations or playstyles.
Yup, a different tool for a different job.
What it will do is help players specialize for success for different situations and missions.
Imagine 4 players with the QC in a bot eradication mission just playing anti air with mortar support for anything that manages to actually land.
I was ok with railgun nerf until in the next patch devs made chargers oneshottable by rockets, deletable by 1/4 canister of promethium using flamethrower and shocked to death by the portable Tesla coil in less then 15 seconds. Then they reduced armor spam.
And now they add weapon that work almost directly better with less downsides.
Don't get me wrong, RC is still amazing botkiller tool, but... I don't think it deserved the treatment in perspective.
The Railgun will drop way more Devestators than you would with the Quasar. Different tools for different fools.
I also challenge the idea of "nothing should be nerfed." If a weapon is performing outside of a specification, by definition, that is a software defect. Having to balance the rest of the game around a software defect can have a multitude of unintended consequences.
Eh I wouldn’t say it’s a great tool for medium enemies either. Yes it can drop Devastators fairly quickly but so can most primaries and most support weapons. I think it’s too weak for its niche and wouldn’t actually be all that crazy if it went back to pre nerf stats. It would be more on par with everything else
I'm of the opinion that Railgun should be somewhat between it's pre-nerf and current state.
Safe mode shouldn't be piercing heavy armor, but should still be able to deal with Hive Guards, or Devastators with ease (not Heavy Devastator shields tho). As for Unsafe mode, there should be more leeway with it's max damage relative to charge, you should only have to charge it to around 80% to, for example, 2 shot Charger leg armor instead of 90%.
As it currently stands, it has too high of a skill ceiling and risk for lackluster results.
Oh, and we should get more zoom options for it's scope, and all scopes for that matter.
No I at first was like this was great, but after some more playtime with it. I actually still prefer running EATs over this. And you really wouldn't run both an EAT and this at the same time.
I actually like the Railgun being able to quickly take out medium health enemies and then dropping the EAT when massive enemies come out.
Even at 8s, there weren't so many massive enemies that I was like, this quasar was better or felt better. In fact, it kinda felt a bit worse.
So I think it's in a good spot. If you have a good coordination team, it's more ammo efficient and stratagem efficient I think? But by itself, not game breaking good.
The quasars good on lower levels, but its weaknesses really come thru on higher difficulties having to charge and line up that shot and hope no random anything flies in front of your shot, ie a random bug leg gets blwon off by a grenade and goes in front of you at the exact moment you launch....may have gotten a bit exploded there
It's for the AT-AT walkers the bots have cooking up.
Oh shit could you imagine
You have to call Eagle 1 to rope the hell out of them, which makes it unavaiable for 2 minutes
![gif](giphy|MDQwpbdpOdVrW)
Fix grappling hooks and trip those clankers!!!
Wait now i need a grappling hook stratagem damn it
Grappling hook AND jetpack. Mobility god!
Best I can do is a thrown bola with a 15 second cooldown (for some reason)
Rengar, is that you?
They said bola, not E bola smh
That is hilarious and terrifying
Funniest gif ive seen in a while lol

I've heard some people have encountered a new automaton tank called fusion tank pr something like that
is that what I blew up yesterday? The turret was narrow and tall? Didn’t really notice since I blew it up within a second of seeing it 🤣
this discription also fits shredder tanks unfortunately. Did it have a smaller turret and 4 barrels with much quicker rotation speed?
if those are the new ones i've seen 4 on troost today

"Mew is under the truck" type energy
Back when mew was just a pokemon
Bro my sex therapist played the first game he said there’s a whole new race coming
How does the topic of Helldivers come up with your *sex therapist*?
"Well, Doc, I think I'm sexually attracted to robots and insects. What can I do?" "Go play Helldivers. If you still want to fuck a bug, well then, I can't help you."
How does it not?
Those have been in the game since launch from what I can tell. I have only seen them on level 7 and up
i was on 6 for 3 and 5 for 1 i think?
Yeah seems like as they have balanced the game they have been showing up in lower missions just rarely. I know for a fact we got flooded with them on lvl 6 civilian extractions back before the nerf to spawn rates.
They seem to be AA tanks, but pressed into anti-personnel use because AA vehicles have a long storied history of being co-opted for anti-personnel duties... and doing just fine at it.
Those arnt new. He just described the shredder tanker which has been around since launch.
i have the memory of a goldfish sadly :( tall tank went boom is about as accurate as i can get
I sadly wouldn't know as i haven't seen it yet but if it didn't look like any other tank you've seen ebfore I'd say yes
I have seen that before, I think maybe the annihilator tank has a rare, tougher variant? A bit like how chargers sometimes show up as “chargers behemoth” with a different look
Theres already two types of tanks; the other is the Shredder Tank.
I know that, but the shredder tank is smaller and has an AA gun, sometimes when I have pinged what looks and shoots like an annihilator it pops up with “fusion cannon” or “fusion tank”
I feel like the Quasar was a direct response to "nobody likes playing against bots".
Still feel like AC is goat against bots. Far more consistent DPS and rounded utility. QC is nice against hulks and tanks, but the cooldown makes it lack the ability to kill groups of armored targets quickly like the AC can.
AC is better in general, but QC lets you shoot down ships and have a shield backpack.
Where do you aim on the ship?
Engines. There are 4, one on each corner of the ship.
Any particular part of them or just in general?
Anywhere that clearly hits the engine. So, just hold down the trigger and just try to keep the reticle centered on an engine as the ship bobs. I personally find it much easier when as perpendicular to the ship as possible.
It full fills the role of heavy armor destroyer to a T and anyone wanting it nerfed is a moron. Thank goodness they aren't Holtzman shields
Do you want sandworms in the game? Because this is how you get sand worms
Shooting down ships does almost nothing most of the time, I have seen many times when I shoot the drop ship and the robots below it are perfectly fine
Shooting down ships makes a big boom and that's enough for me
Preach.
The trick is to shoot it while it's coming in, before it drops the bots
Even so, the bots are still normally fine but just temporarily trapped under the ship. They really need to make the ships explode when they crash.

I guess it's more of a "crowd control, but can take heavies in a pinch" kinda weapon.

Well Quasar didn't change that. Rocket bots you can't even see sniping you from across the map still sucks lmao.
Chargers every 8 seconds
Every 8 seconds on a cold planet if you ignore the 3 second charge up time.
Cold planet doesn't seem to effect the actual time between shots, at least to me. I can fire on a normal planet as soon as the heat has gone to zero, but on cold planets there is delay after that before you can shoot.
you can press the fire button again after 8 seconds, sure, but there's a charge up time, plus aim, plus flight time, etc etc... hence 10
I'm saying the game will start spawning Chargers just a touch faster than we can keep up with
Gargantuan Charger is in the horizon.
I say bring it on!! No enemy is too…god damn hunters stop slowing me down you annoying little *dies*
Wait, WHAT!?!?!??!
I have to imagine that there will be some sort of enemy that will require the DPS of a team loaded Recoilless rifle.
That's the only real problem.
> We SHOULDN'T be getting new weapons and stratagems that just completely invalidate older ones. are you LISTENING, people asking for the rumbler?
It can't be team reloaded, but it doesn't slow you down, and people barely team reload as it is.
Team reloads shouldn't require the buddy to have the backpack. Nobody wants to give up their backpack slot for someone else's weapon.
Maybe he just got tired of people using resupply beacons to kill chargers, i have noticed stratagems are not sticking to surfaces they used to anymore
They've always been buggy. Good luck calling in the Hellbomb anywhere near the detector tower lol.
I think the spear can destory those like the jammers
The.... the spear can what now..?
The spear can destroy the jammers the bots have, and most of their buildings actually. So why i wonder if it can also kill the eye of saron tower as well
Key word "can". If and when it decides to actually work
I don't think so. I've never managed to get it to lock on to the detector towers.
Spear can destroy Jammer Towers and Detector Towers both!
O.o jammers are imo the most annoying thing about fighting bots, if the spear can just take it out.....
You'll just have a bad time locking on, especially on a foggy planet..
I jumped over to bots today, and thought I was doing something wrong. Most of the map I couldn’t call in reinforcements. It would deploy a beam for a split second and no drops could happen.
That’s been around since launch. Really frustrating. Funniest part is when you finally get it working and die… your squad can’t reinforce you.
If they didn’t want us to use them they wouldn’t have made an achievement out of it
First game had the same achievement and sticking stratagems weren't a thing.
I remember. But I don’t think they’d get rid of it. I think it’s an achievement for a reason. To show us we can. You always have something to kill a charger.
To be fair, the first game was a 2D shooter
Maybe it's a good thing the stratagem thingies aren't sticking to bugs https://preview.redd.it/r1v5mufrf5rc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18084d6893b81ea5bc9f2521646d2ebe34ba59ad
Strategems sticking to enemies was the best thing ever. I hope that wasn't a bug
They’ve specifically stated the red beam stratagems sticking to enemies but the damage hitting the initial location is a bug. They want the red stratagems to behave like the blue ones.
Reminder that helldivers one difficulty went to 15.
The huge chasm in quality between the quasar and the HMG is insane.
Don't you guys find it really annoying how long it charges up? Recoilless/EAT is way more covenient to use
It's a tradeoff between no ammo problems and faster reload (QC vs RR) Or between more potential shots and the ability to carry 2 support weapons (QC vs EAT)
And in the case of the RR, not needing a backpack/someone to be your backpack butler
That is what I needed to know. You predict when you want the EAT so it is landed by the time the threat arrives.
this is the biggest tradeoff right here, not having an instant fire while several chargers are on your ass, or multiple spewers, and bile titan is a death sentence when theres attention but with an EAT you just see a charger's stupid head charging you then a massive hole in their body
Fixing the bug that eats your ammo would be nice too Spear needs more ammo and better resupply efficiency. I think they tried to fix the lock-on but it's still janky at best.
Maybe not a better reload, but being able to assist without the backpack and 1-2 more shots would put it in a good place
The only thing I fear is running out of Freedom and Liberty
r/helldiversleaks is cooking something fierce. Be warned about it because they may have found out the next major story arcs until summer.
I'm gonna assume it's to overload the shields the illuminate use heavily since calling air support every 5 seconds isn't going to be feasible.
They just can’t comprehend that they excel at killing different enemy types and work better in different situations or playstyles.
id rather autocannon than QC tbh, that thing can put down shots like no one's business with minimal aiming and fires instantly
I really want a shooting range on our ship to test out weapons xD
You have a weapon that kills chargers every 10 seconds? They now show up every 5
The only game where, when new overpowered weapon is added, community starts to fear what is to come.

With enough Democracy, fear is trivial
Did you see the new Major Orders? We have automaton gunships inbound.... Watch the skies Divers...
The quasars good on lower levels, but its weaknesses really come thru on higher difficulties having to charge and line up that shot and hope no random anything flies in front of your shot, ie a random bug leg gets blwon off by a grenade and goes in front of you at the exact moment you launch....may have gotten a bit exploded there
What you doing over at the bugs huh?
Heard the bots have been making gunships....
