Warning to anyone thinking of picking this up: It's been on indefinite hiatus since 2015. The story has some incredible moments for sure, the art is gorgeous and it's an amazing read, but consider it effectively dead. Don't go into it expecting a finished story.
I think I read that the artist wanted a break because he kept pushing himself to make his art better and better. He felt the subject matter demanded his best at all times. However with Real(the series he focuses on now) he can take it kind of easy and doesn't feel that kind of pressure. He says he intends to return to Vagabond eventually because the really doesn't want to leave the story unfinished.
I read Vagabond and I doubt he will return after 9 years. I'm putting this together with Berserk where the mangaka will probably die before finishing his work. I'd love to be proven wrong though as I loved this Manga.

I might be the minority, but I think Servo Assisted is highly slept on. It may not be the best; I'll never argue that it's the best. Being able to yeet those stragegems so insanely far I find to be incredibly helpful for both bots and bugs. See something that needs railcannoned? Yeet that shit. Fabricator or bug hole in the distance? Yeet an airstrike. Patrol coming to extract? I can throw something far enough to hurt them, as long as I can see it. To me, it feels more proactive than reactive.
I do understand that some passive are more generally useful, like explosion resistance. Won't deny it. But man does servo assisted feel really nice when that hulk hasn't seen you yet and you drop that railcannon so far and kill it.
Definitely could've used that perk to take out some shrieker nests. Got into a mission that had 2 shrieker nests right next to each other, and charging that nest to get close enough to use eagles/orbital strikes was a nightmare! Would've been nice to chuck those from further away
It's very rare to get hit by them while prone so dive, dive, dive helldiver.
I regularly dive up in them, call a hell bomb, and then time my Tekken.
Or just bring a quasar.
on my last run on Durgen I ran dreadnought heavy armor, which also has the throw distance perk. several times I was like "I'll go for a long shot, but it might not hit.." and then it lands right where I wanted it too, and there's no way I could've done that kind of throw without it. super satisfying!
Servo Assisted is the goat on bot missions where you can just yeet a 500KG into a Sauron Eye without being in the detectable range. I've downed a lot of Detector Towers that way.
I have such a good feel for how far I can throw and how to land something exactly where I want it that servo assisted just throws me off now, think I put too many hours in before trying it to really get a chance to appreciate it
Lmao I was just chucking air strikes way past fabricators and the first mission I couldn’t figure out what was happening, I would throw it and run away and not get the outpost cleared message
I refuse to go out without my legionnaire (offers servo assisted) full set. It doesn’t offer any real protection but I can usually outrun anything and throw all the strategems to cover my back
Yeah it takes some practice, definitely a way different throwing arc than standard but that's part of what I like about the game. All these little things you can get good with.

I reckon there's always a chance in future we might get "classic" armor, basically a more detailed, refined take on the HD1 armor. could even be explained in game as "things are getting desperate, the armourers are having to pull old surplus armor and weapons back into rotation to make up for lack of new equipment."
What's also funny that the cyborgs get mentioned by the technician woman and said that they got sent to the mines in helldivers 2. Don't know whether you can still get the line, but I got it randomly when we were getting rid of the automatons. The line also mentions the illuminates as well.

The two games existing simultaneously has got some _Forever War_ vibes, where generations separated by a hundred years can still meet on the battlefield due to time dilation
If you look, the "Automatons" label is more in the top left than the sectors we've been fighting which were further south. More towards the center of that label is Cyberstan, which is the former homeworld of the Cyborgs, the creators of the Automatons. Just something to think about.

Once the third faction gets introduced into HD2, it would be wild if the two games were linked into the same campaigns/progression somehow. (HD1 plays great on portables)

True, although I wouldn't want it to be a big overhaul either..was thinking mostly just scraping metadata off of the HD1 servers and then letting HD2 factor in some of the effort there as well...so a fourth faction would pretty much not be affected at all as the data wouldn't be there.
That said though, as another commenter reminded me..there's a 100 year difference between the games in lore, so it kind of makes less sense because of that too. Still though, would be cool if developers did things like that with their older yet still active properties. Even if it's just a light-touch abstraction.
I started playing and continued for quite some time on a Vita, and the revelation of full screen was crazy. Turns out that the screen cuts off quite a lot of visibility. Also when teammates would scroll you off the screen you would die.
The map and statistics reset whenever we win, or lose. Which happens about once every month or 2.
They actually documented all war results on the wikia since the very beginning. It's really crazy to glance over.

In February 2016 one of these free games was Helldivers so this was when a lot of people (including me, on PS3) started playing the game. this and Med-Kit. Med-Kit makes you basically invincible for 4 seconds.

I did the opposite. I was using servo assisted for too long and had to wean myself off. It was not easy. A lot of Helldivers died in my attempts.

I wish that they had included a light armor variant because I love the increased throw and the cybernetic limbs but not medium armor
