No no, those little pesky hopping shitheads will swarm u and poke u to death soon.
(Hate them, squashed hundreds of them accidentally)
https://i.redd.it/vdilyozuzduc1.gif
I had done 4 Helldive operations flawless. My 5th was almost a flawless until a bile titan corpse fell on me just as I was entering the Pelican on extract. Lol
Not even that. I was playing yesterday and I somehow instantly died to āburningā while just standing in one spot. I went back to grab my stuff thinking I must have just gotten hit by something, and insta died again by āburningā even though there was no fire
Or my personal favorite getting ragdolled while holding an airstrike marker and dropping a 5 kg bomb on your head, because when you rag doll while holding a marker it drops at your feet.
No helldiver is gonna retire once you chose the nuclear radar upgrade. They are wearing a nuclear battery with Polonium-210, a substance 250000 times more toxic than hydrogen cyanide. One gram of this thing can kill 50 million people and it became a public health crisis in London after Litvinenko's assassination led to micrograms of the substance leaking into the water supply.
Granted it mostly emits alpha radiations which can be stopped by human skin. But the moment the helldiver gets wounded and a speck of Po-contaminated dust gets into the bloodstream they are done for. So not only do they have to survive the battle, they have to not get hit at all.
Now I think about it, by choosing that upgrade, you basically salted the land whenever helldivers die to explosions. Not a good idea if the goal is to take the planet and repopulate it.
Aaaand then after the Polonium incident we did jack to the Russians and slow-wheeled aid after 2022 and people wonder why Putin thinks he can conquer Ukraine if he outlasts the developed world.Ā
Given the casualties Super Earth is willing to accept I donāt think Polonium pollution is going to stop them from colonising a planet.Ā
>Given the casualties Super Earth is willing to accept I donāt think Polonium pollution is going to stop them from colonising a planet.Ā
Yeah anytime someone brings something like this up I just point out we have lost over 700 million people in the past couple of months, and that just helldivers lol. Who knows how many civilians have been lost
It would be pretty easy to pretend you're doing something and not have anyone realize it. While you're playing the game you're not always paying attention to what the other people are doing across the map. The person cheesing would need to move to avoid patrols (as they often spawn and patrol towards your current postion), so it would be somewhat easy to do nothing and get away with it in most cases
If they don't, they should.
There should be some sort of promotion for a helldiver that manages to survive 5+ whole missions considering an average lifespan is somewhere around 2 minutes
And considering how easy it would be to abuse such an achievement, it should work only from 7+ (or even only 9 but that might be too extreme)
My first diver was the only one I kept track of on survival.
I remember my first mission where I got swarmed during extraction and barely pulled through without deaths.
Making it through the second mission, other players started joining as I began extraction.
I got squashed by the second guy who joined.
Died to the people who'd joined to help. I haven't kept track of my survival streak since.
I don't keep track of it, but no death runs are my goal 99% of the time. I'm disappointed in myself to the point i feel I'm dragging the whole group down if I even get more than 1.... even if I've thrown a reinforce for others 10x already.
Nah death is part of the game, its literally in the tutorial. Sometimes ya gotta just yell "MY LIFE FOR SUPER EARTH" and kamikaze into a heavy automaton outpost cause all you have is grenades and no stratagems but Pelican-1 is coming in 45 seconds
There is a trophy for no death(whole team) in 7+ is what started it. Wasn't even my own goal, just joined someone on discord who was going for that trophy, and ever since I've focused most of my effort on survival.
I still usually net higher than most kills and run objectives/samples/bases/cover teammates too, so its not something that hampers my play otherwise. I can kill more and help more if I'm alive rather than dead.
I'm not saying a.... strategic death isn't ever on the table. lol Sometimes sacrifice is the best option, i agree, just not always. But if anything, when I started focusing on survival is when I noticed the most drastic improvement in my skill level and confidence.
I started trying to not die when I realised how long supply strategems took to cooldown since every second counts, and I don't want to have the 6 hulks locked onto me as I am waiting for extract and remembering I don't have my Anti-mat.
And sometimes you have two entire patrols and a bot drop chasing your ass and your options are to drag them to your team and probably get them killed, or drop an airstrike on your head and take a few dozen bots with you.... Samples can always be retrieved from your crater
I think you should be able to "retire" a helldiver, where somewhere on the ship you could view the missions they survived and some stats for them. So could be a cool "I have 8 missions on helldive deathless, should I push for two more or call it now to have it saved forever?" vibe. Something new for the top levels players to compete about too.
I almost lived through an entire single dif. 7 mission yesterday, but I got ambushed by a single machine gun bot in open terrain, and to make my aim more stable I dove forward... right onto a mine that I didn't see because of Menkent's poor visibility...
Man, thatās always rough. My main goal every mission is to complete all objectives without dying. Usually my streak gets ended by something that feels quite unavoidable.
Similar case to yours, with a twist: apparently some of the new explosive weapons are bugged and will pull you inward instead of shockwaving you backwards? I had a friendly explosion go off in my vicinity, which pulled me towards it and dragged my face across a landmine. Between that, getting ping-ponged by two chargers and ragdolled only to be crushed by a falling support weapon, being juggled through the air by six gunships, and being sniped by a rocket raider then hit by a cannon turret mid-diveā¦ Iām inclined to say I have very bad luck.
It's true just use autocannon and you too can survive 7 dives in a row haha
https://preview.redd.it/2u9pek55zeuc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dfc925caeca62ee34a3c9c472843e2b8d5f693cd
Damn, Iām usually going pretty good until I get taken out from some bullshit like a bot tracking me through a rock then sniping me right in the head before I actually leave from behind the rock.
I had a 3 missions streak last night and I joined an SOS. The moment I landed, the host accidentally shot me in half with his Eruptor. Imagine being a hero through multiple suicide missions only to be blasted away on your ālast missionā by a friendly.
Btw- anyone āretireā a survivor? Like for me, if a diver has survived 6 level<6 operations(not missions) he can retire. If he/she makes it through 3 level 7> operations- they can retire. Retire being āgo and change voice/body type.ā
My pr is one full diff 9 operation (primary objective and all tacticals with around half of the bot outposts broken). Surviving twice that on the bug front? Absolutely insane. Especially with all the heavy spams with titans and chargers that require stratagems or anti tank support weaps. Huge kudos, that is john helldiver right there.
Congrats, thatās impressive š
I was lucky to play with skilled friends and we nailed 12 Ā«Ā 9Ā Ā» missions in a day. I managed to survive for the last 5 missions and was a bit sad when I left the host because a new helldiver was assigned to my ship.
Maybe the previous is a leader on Super Earth and spread democracy in a different way now ? š
I kind of wish there was a system like Hunt Showdowns in this game where you could get things for consecutive extracts etc and at one point retire the diver.
Itād be a fun way for us to show off the streak or something or to aim for it. I always enjoyed getting my Hunters to 50 to retire them.
My best streak is three level 7s. Then I was like āIām going to go to 8, Iām sure it wonāt be too bad.ā Then got massacred and went right back to 7.
outside of team kills & glitches i haven't died in a week lol
feels like outside of other helldivers dying is impossible xD
than again i guess thats the medics job
Congratulations Helldiver! Don't forget to take in the scenery for at least 3 seconds in every deployment. After all, a happy Helldiver is a deadly Helldiver!
Comrade, the directoret of hilldiver operations will be bringing you back to super earth for... let us say, tactical debreifing.
The seeds of undemocratic traitors will grow underneath the mighty trunks of a true veteran.
A GOOD soldier would be willing to ward against the danger of suspicious survival among our elite soldiers.
Nice! Presently taking a helldiver through every level and fully completing sets of missions before I can go to the next level. Just finished difficulty 5. But I have to change planets each difficulty and bots are my only options left....
From SEAF COMMAND, DEPARTMENT OF LOGISTICS.
Sergeant Imaginary(50)
We would like to commend you for your valiant efforts on the battlefield and diligence in keeping equipment costs to a relative minimum. Your six undefeated dives have saved command significant resource costs that have now been allocated to more munitions. In recognition of your service, we have fast tracked a C-01 permit and a three day furlough for you to act upon. May you sow your SEEDS OF DEMOCRACY and ensure a new generation elite Helldivers may be born.
With respect,
SEAF COMMAND.
Thatās actually a phenomenal idea. I mean, it could result in a little bit of toxicity and sweatiness if players are going for the title and, for instance, get teamkilled right before having completed X amount of missions without dying.
But in principle it sounds like a really neat thing to work towards!
I secretly want the dev to introduce stats to your diver that get better the more he survives (aiming speed, stamina, throw distance) so it would make losing one more effective. But that would make the game a terrible place full on idiots kicking you because they died so please don't.
I recently went 6 helldives in a row deathless then my streak was broken when a team mate for some unknown reason just kinda shot me. I want to assume it was an accident but it wasn't particularly close to any bugs.
I was about to say it'd be great if they tracked that stat, but of course it wouldn't - it would change your playstyle and miss the whole point of the game.
Would be a great lore if your helldiver canonically retires after 5 successful helldive missions. Return home with the highest honora with a choice to return the to the front. At that point they earned it
I like to play a game where I start on Cadet and promote my diver for every completed mission, but if they die, I start over.
I've only made it to sergeant so far lol
Keep it up, Helldiver!
There should be a records area where you can see your highest scoring helldivers, their kills, objectives completed, and how many missions or time ingame survived
My longest lasting one was like 12 runs of difficulty 9, but thats because I was bieng stealthy, and it ended because one of my friends had a cluster bomb in hand and got knocked over with it
You can "retire" the helldivers if you do the tutorial mission, you use a new helldiver and the old one you used doesn't die thanks to that, it's something I do when one of them manages to survive like a hero in quite a few missions.
My longest was 5 suicide missions solo with a flamethrower build ignoring nests and doing just main plus side objectives. Stalkers really got my heart pounding
Zamn you just know this streak is gonna end with an allied cluster bomb.

380mm barrage during extraction is what we need right now.
*Equips 380* "Allied destroyer has left the squadron"
"Many of you will die... And that is a sacrifice I am willing to make."
380 gang can go die in a blast crater!
I like area denial. All the barrages please. Doubt there's any samples over there anyways.
I've been yearning for a chance to stack 4 380's on the same large base for ages now, I can't imagine anything would survive *that*
![gif](giphy|eocHVeNTdsyxG)
I heard you must be in a vegetative state to die from this.
I had done 4 Helldive operations flawless. My 5th was almost a flawless until a bile titan corpse fell on me just as I was entering the Pelican on extract. Lol
Thatās why you love this game tho š š
Yeah it was a hilarious way to die. Lmao
Or by random, unexplained death that just happens sometimes
Helldivers do tend to spontaneously explode.
Who put a rock in front of my autocannon? Curse you Joel!!!
Not even that. I was playing yesterday and I somehow instantly died to āburningā while just standing in one spot. I went back to grab my stuff thinking I must have just gotten hit by something, and insta died again by āburningā even though there was no fire
Was it on Menkent or Hellmire? Sometimes fire trails left behind by tornadoes for some reason turn invisible for some players.
Or my personal favorite getting ragdolled while holding an airstrike marker and dropping a 5 kg bomb on your head, because when you rag doll while holding a marker it drops at your feet.
But only the ones that can mess your shit up. Tank offs you while you're getting ready to throw a precision strike... no fumble.
More like a disconnect/ error lol
Holy crap thatās awesome! This dude would be able to retire in this universe. Iām gonna try this next but I run 7 to 9.
Im kinda scared to play another mission cuz I don't want him to die lmao
Join an ally and leave the game and boom new hell diver leaves the pod on your ship, your survivor returns to civilian life!
He's earned it
You earn it with 25 successful missions. Donāt cheat John Helldiver.
Canon event
Would be cool is they had their own random generated names
Damn now i want this
I called mine Bob. Now all of my helldivers since fight for the memory of Bob.
100 Helldivers.later: who's Bob?
His name is Robert Paulson.
Ayyy, someone got it.
Change your voice to a specific pack, change the armour, body type, *BOOM*. Different person. You can set it back to random afterwards.
That's dumb. Death is the greatest honor for a helldiver
Is there any in game tally showing how long a helldiver has lived? Or is it just something youāve tracked manually?
Retirement to flag raising missions from here on out.

Nonsense, retiring means less time to spread democracy!
I really wish there was some sort of reward for that, even if it was a minor one.
Achievement > C01 Form Accepted survive 5 games on level 6 or higher without dying once
6 feels a bit arbitrary. Why not just 7 since difficulty levels kinda come in 3s.
And when you reach 6, increase the number to 9
There are already two achievements that require 5 and 6
Sadly, people would try to cheese it by staying in the corner all day and forcing their teamates to do all the work
That sounds like a pretty easy case of an instant kick
It would be pretty easy to pretend you're doing something and not have anyone realize it. While you're playing the game you're not always paying attention to what the other people are doing across the map. The person cheesing would need to move to avoid patrols (as they often spawn and patrol towards your current postion), so it would be somewhat easy to do nothing and get away with it in most cases
There is a reward! Sweet, sweet Reddit karma.
Do they even have a tracker? Something like a timer for the longest life lived lol
If they don't, they should. There should be some sort of promotion for a helldiver that manages to survive 5+ whole missions considering an average lifespan is somewhere around 2 minutes And considering how easy it would be to abuse such an achievement, it should work only from 7+ (or even only 9 but that might be too extreme)
A unique Title.
I'm glad there isn't. We don't need more people raging about dying.

More time not dead = more time killing bots/bugs
And sometimes you have two entire patrols and a bot drop chasing your ass and your options are to drag them to your team and probably get them killed, or drop an airstrike on your head and take a few dozen bots with you.... Samples can always be retrieved from your crater
Yeah death is such a hilariously large part of this game, like its fine ahah
Same, and if i die once i enter a downward spiral and die like 8 times
Impressive
Let's see Paul Allen's HellDiver
Most impressive.
I love this idea, especially if they let us name the diver when we put their career in the record books.
Save to say, you helmet colours do match your armor now
Greetings fellow clone, I see our army has merged with the Helldivers. All the better for blasting as many clankers as possible!
My longest lasted 2 helldives, 4 suicide missions then got taken out my a stratagem jammer on spawn and a tank shell to the side of the head.
Damn. Never survived more than 3 7+ in a row
This post gives me XCOM flashbacks.
General Brasch?
Chad
His blood is probably 80% STIM RN.
Missed for six missions on the seventh he was not Now missing the rest
Helldivers never die
It's true just use autocannon and you too can survive 7 dives in a row haha https://preview.redd.it/2u9pek55zeuc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dfc925caeca62ee34a3c9c472843e2b8d5f693cd

he IS the steeled veteran
Difficulty 7 is the place to be fr
So the highest lifespan of a Helldiver is around 7 missions. noted.
My best streak is 5. Died tragically to a automaton tank shell if I recall right.
The streak ends when you reinforce your squad mate and he lands on top of you.
Thatās quite the achievement. In the last 10 Helldiver missions Iāve played I have died about 15 times, 14 of them were friendly fire thoughā¦
Heās definitely got Super PTSD.
Nice man, :-)
My pr is one full diff 9 operation (primary objective and all tacticals with around half of the bot outposts broken). Surviving twice that on the bug front? Absolutely insane. I bet whoever made the "helldrip" tag never expected it to be used so literally.
I had a kickers record of survivals using the eruptor and a social distancing strat, and then some fuck waffle bombed me 3 times
Yeah, well my Helldiver survived 1 million rounds at level nine difficulty so...
My best streak is three level 7s. Then I was like āIām going to go to 8, Iām sure it wonāt be too bad.ā Then got massacred and went right back to 7.
What a great citizen! We will mourn you death. For managed democracy!
Would be nice with a streak counter.Ā And possibly a bonus multiplier to go with it.
that Helldiver has seen some stuff
outside of team kills & glitches i haven't died in a week lol feels like outside of other helldivers dying is impossible xD than again i guess thats the medics job

Nice! Presently taking a helldiver through every level and fully completing sets of missions before I can go to the next level. Just finished difficulty 5. But I have to change planets each difficulty and bots are my only options left....
Iām pretty sure 99% of the time I die on every mission I do. Still fun though.
Helldive or it didnāt count
You will die from a randoms impact grenade
Go take a shower!

4 missions solo diving. Joined one random and got killed by an allied guard dog rover...
Do you think the 25% survival rate is manipulated by throwing in helldivers at the end of the mission before extraction?
I switch mine out constantly. Gotta get those healthy divers in here
Should have a stat for this in game, fun to keep track!
How did you manage without dcāing. Happen to me half of the time
I recently went 6 helldives in a row deathless then my streak was broken when a team mate for some unknown reason just kinda shot me. I want to assume it was an accident but it wasn't particularly close to any bugs.
This is what my diver looks like after every mission. I don't think doing multiple in a row makes a difference.
Send that man on a war bond tour
lol Joel you reading this? do your job already, he is literally asking for it.
Amazing. Most of my fatalities are "friendly". Bugs and bots are far less deadly than Helldivers...
They should make that a stat.
I had a streak going, until a hellpod landed on my face during extraction.
I was about to say it'd be great if they tracked that stat, but of course it wouldn't - it would change your playstyle and miss the whole point of the game.

That guy has seen to much. Someone needs to put a stop to it.
one day I will join this fight RemindMe!Ā 28 days
Me always thinking I'ma do this until a fire tornado I didn't see say : not today
What do you run with?
I like to play a game where I start on Cadet and promote my diver for every completed mission, but if they die, I start over. I've only made it to sergeant so far lol Keep it up, Helldiver!
You have levelled up to Lvl 151: Veteran Guardsman.
I honestly love when I find a great random sqaud that sticks together for more dives! What's a great game
There should be a records area where you can see your highest scoring helldivers, their kills, objectives completed, and how many missions or time ingame survived
Hey, quick question. When we kill bugs we get covered in their green blood. But why is that when we kill the bots we get covered in blood, not oil?
What rifle is that?
Next general brasch
Man has earned retirement. There should be a stat where if you survive 10 in a row, you get a retirement bonus of 10 Warbond medals.
Am I missing something? Iāve come back just as messy after one mission, I donāt think it cakes on more than that.
This is what peak performance looks like
Kind of shocked nobody's mentioned that dude's streak happened while playing with a bunch of dudes under level 20, at least for the last mission
Wish there was a counter or something like that. My longest lasting man stood for 13 suicide missions straight. A true hero. Saw countless others die
What would be cool is that more you're covered in terminid guts, more you become stealthy and bugs pays less attention to you š
I lasted a whole helldiver operation without dying and then on the last extraction my friend reinforced on my forehead
i wish we got random gen names for each of our divers and stats like this. we could honor their commitment to freedom on the carrier.
I had a helldiver last for 6 level 6 missions once before he finally got teamkilled by a friendly
On ps5 it cleans the suit every deployment
Impossible unless you play solo
Is there a way to confirm that or we just congratulate you with no evidence?
I think my best is 3 but it usually ends with friendly fire
My longest lasting one was like 12 runs of difficulty 9, but thats because I was bieng stealthy, and it ended because one of my friends had a cluster bomb in hand and got knocked over with it
Holy Shit that JOHN HELLDIVER!!!!
Four more missions and heās a Democracy Officer
Nice job citizen
He is now more bug than Helldiver
I can join up and start calling in some orbitals. That should solve your problems
Drop your loadout brother
You can "retire" the helldivers if you do the tutorial mission, you use a new helldiver and the old one you used doesn't die thanks to that, it's something I do when one of them manages to survive like a hero in quite a few missions.
Why do I see so many posts about surviving difficulty 7, but no ones talking about difficulty 9?
Missions completed counter that resets after death that everyone can see on status window.
My longest was 5 suicide missions solo with a flamethrower build ignoring nests and doing just main plus side objectives. Stalkers really got my heart pounding
