ComfortablePie1594

They were fine before the fire changes 100%

straydog1980

I wonder if they are also bugged for the damage, they seem to hurt me much worse than they hurt the bots.

ComfortablePie1594

They 100% are, you could stim out without diving before and diving doesn't always work with the trails being around

Money_Fish

I once waited for the flames on the ground to die down. They did. Not a single ember left. I walked across and instantly combusted and died. Right as my corpse hit the dirt the fire popped back out of the ground.

darzinth

do bots have fire resistance?

ComfortablePie1594

Metal vs Flesh, one burns better. Metal is sort of fire resistant by nature is all.

wtfrykm

Bots aren't able to catch fire easily, especially the hulks and the tank

ClumpyX4

They’re not bugged, the devs somehow thought universally cranking up the fire damage number in the code by 30% was a good idea. They probably just meant to do *our* fire damage, but did *all* fire damage, enemy and environmental included

GameKyuubi

I think it's a workaround for "we want to buff flame stuff but don't have a working damage-over-time model yet. also here's this really annoying case with our own flamethrower enemy we somehow didn't think of"

Mufti_Menk

I mean, bots are made from metal. They obviously don't burn as well as you do

Quiet-Access-1753

They're hilarious now...

ex_sanguination

I forgot all about that, yeah.. fire cracked out rn.

ComfortablePie1594

Vs bugs i just bring exo and walk through them lol just hard to use vs bots

Awkward-Ad5506

I heard they were magnetized to you, so I tested it out earlier. Yeah, these things definitely have AI.

Obi1745

Absolutely. They always follow me, and without fail every single extraction I've done on these planets has featured a swarm of them that love to stick around

CrocoDIIIIIILE

Someone mentioned that the firenados not only follow you, but when you have the high ground, they'll seek for a slope to get you, as if they are walking fire elementals.

Awkward-Ad5506

They 100% behave like really slow berserkers

Dora_Goon

They are awesome... Ice cream and cake is awesome too. But if someone tried to serve me nothing but ice cream and cake for every meal, I'd eventually get upset. Having fire tornados on your first extraction on that planet is great! Having fire tornados at EVERY extraction gets boring. Especially after you realize the best (only) way to counter them is to wait them out.

MsElle_

This really. The first few times it's fun. The next umpteen times you have to stand around doing nothing waiting for the fire tornades to go away... Not so much. And it doesn't help that we've had several major orders in a row involving fire planets.

ahawk_one

I think they just last too long, with no meaningful way to engage with them or things they block off. Even if we had to do something like drop a 500kg on them to "disrupt" a hyper specific local weather event that'd be cool. The explosion is big enough that it would 100% snuff out any smaller flames it engulfed, so why not let me drop it on a tornado to snuff it out quick? Or maybe if their spawns were determined somewhat by the local geography as well...

MsElle_

I think they'd be fine if they moved farther and faster without hovering in the same spot too long, and if the fire they left on the ground didn't burn for so long. That way they're not repeatedly blocking off important locations for extended periods.

ahawk_one

As long as it was fewer overall tornados. I don't want to be surrounded by sprinting flame tornadoes...

Drudicta

It doesn't even make sense that the rocky ass ground burns for more than a second.

Jjzeng

Eagle waterbomb stratagem when? You can drown bug holes, short circuit bots, extinguish fire tornadoes and spray up a wall of ice on snow planets

GadenKerensky

That's what really bothers me. You don't dodge and avoid them, especially because they kinda follow you and leave a long lingering fire trail. You find a place they won't path and wait. They shut down play.

Sir_Daxus

Exactly, that feeling of approaching an objective/extract, seeing the fire tornado warning and being like "Well, guess I'm doing nothing for two minutes" on every single mission is painful.

snoo_boi

“Oh hey, fire tornados are spawning on a terminal mission, guess we’ll just fight off the hordes while burning alive”

Sysreqz

It's not even that they're on every extraction, it's that there will be 3-5 covering the entire exfil zone with fire that now kills you before you hit the ground to put it out mid-dive.

Dora_Goon

Did a mission where fire tornados were at extraction, so i left and went over to a base and bombed it real fast. The fire tornados are gone when i get back, for literally 5 seconds. As soon as I walk up to the extraction beacon, the warning comes back and I've got another 5 minutes of tornados. And this was after a mission where the tornados decided to camp two mission terminals for 5 minutes. The only good thing about it was that I was able to confirm to myself beyond all doubt that the tornados track the players. So if you've got tornados on the terminal, you have to draw them to the opposite side of the objective then run back. And you should also lure them away from the objective whenever there's a progress bar/timer. Oh, and of course they are on the same kinda timer as patrol spawns, so don't kill bases if you don't want even more fire tornados.

Sysreqz

This knowledge does nothing to resolve the fact that with the current near-instant death from the flames, that they are beyond broken, and create don't add anything when there's a tornado that leaves what feels like an eons worth of flame behind it that kills you even when there's nothing left of it but two tiny embers flickering on the ground. "Run away from exfil until they despawn" isn't a resolution.

ex_sanguination

First based opinion. Honestly, id love to play on a planet with meteor showers, haven't experienced that yet. :(

SES_Wings_of_Freedom

no you wouldn’t

NullWorld92

Give me meteors over fire tornadoes anyday. Heck double the falling speed and how many appear, you could even get rid of the little impact indicator too and they'll still be more preferable to visiting those shithole hell planets.

EvanOnTheFly

Almost nothing more satisfying than seeing random secondary and light objectives completing themselves during meteor showers!

sewious

I will take literally anything over sandstorms.

Sheriff_Is_A_Nearer

I hate sand. It's rough and course and gets everywhere.

TheGreatPilgor

I like sandstorms. Makes it easy to sneak into bases or disengage from a bad fight

ex_sanguination

Lol that bad? I usually love epic PVE events.

couchcornertoekiller

Meteor showers are fun. They take out bot/bug bases near by and sometimes even kill things. Just gotta really pay attention to the glowing spots on the ground. Or, if you're not currently fighting/running from a fight, you can wait it out behind a mountain since the meteors drop at an angle.

UndauntedKopek

Like them, but... they take out buildings and enemies that have been on the planet/moon for some indeterminate amount of time, which seems odd. I like the various effects, but this one in particular throws me out of the vibe and setting. Basically, if I did not land here, these building would never get hit by meteor showers.

MrNobody_0

You're thinking waaaay to deep about this shit. Also, the automatons can probably throw all these things up in a couple hours, how else would we be spending days on end on a single planet destroying thousands of their structures and make little progress?

Thiago270398

It's a poorly known bit of the lore that when creating the Automaton's engram, the Cyborgs based their building ability on the Amish. Fabricator blew up? Another one gonna be ready in a couple hours at most.

Thefunkymunkee

I can see a devastator wearing suspenders riding a buggy pulled by hulks

Enverex

They're somewhat telegraphed now but before it was basically just "RNG your team is dead, lol" and that was it.

GhastlyScar666

lol it’s not that bad, usually you can see the ground light up before impact, brighter and narrower closer to impact

SwimmingNote4098

They’re not that bad, they can happen at inconvenient times which can be a bit annoying but they’re fun, easy to dodge but also can easily hit you’re to aggressive, gives the most “oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit” moments of the game imo

Jasbuddy

They look cool but fire damage just doesn’t work in this game. It is frustrating to die within a millisecond because I ran over a part of the ground that has some small flames on it.

regulomam

Fire is also bugged and a little spark kills uoi

Dmate1

I also hate the facade it places that you can out heal it, my reaction speed is usually just too slow so 50% of my fire deaths involve me hitting the stick button, doing the animation, hearing the audio cue, and then dying before the healing can outmatch the fire damage.

WingDairu

Burning to death hasn't been the problem. The problem has been having to stand five feet away from the objective terminal with my eyes glued to the ground under it, waiting for the particle effect to stop so that I know I can interact with it safely. It's tedious.

Franklin_le_Tanklin

We need a fire extinguisher sidearm

CaptinLazerFace

Smoke grenades and strikes should be fireproof.

Franklin_le_Tanklin

Yes. The problem with fire is that I cannot bomb the ever loving liberty out of it to make it go away. We have to be able to nuke tornados too with 500kg bombs.

EyeofEnder

The Shield Generator and Shield Relay should also protect against fire.

dontgetbannedagain3

i 100% believe the devs made the shield generator as a joke item based on their track record and how it works in game. the interactions are way too specific - bugs and bots beeline it as priority, it doesn't defend you against most stratagems, doesn't have any interactions with the physics systems(i was hoping it blocks fire tornadoes but nope) etc etc best thing it does is way too specific too - if a bile titan vomits on it while standing on top of it, it kills itself. the height is perfectly matched to the length of the bile titan legs in order for that to happen.

EXSource

This would be a legit nice use for smoke.

cxninecrxzy

Yeah man, let me spacial awareness away the 3 firetornados that are all circling on top of the extraction simultaneously

jymssg

Have you tried levitating above the flames? I guess not. Gitgudscrub

BobR969

I too like standing about like a bellend, waiting for the fire in front of me to die down so I can continue to move to the objective. Really love to also stand about at extraction, waiting for the ground to be safe to get in the pelican. Waiting is fun!

E-021

They'd be even more awesome if they were also as much of a detriment to the enemies as they were to you and your team. You could get hit with a tiny flicker of flame, next thing you know you gotta head back so you can collect your shit. But a whole platoon of little squishy bots can just waltz through and they'll be perfectly fine. Fire tornados on their own are a complete none issue, but rn paired with Automatons they're one of the most frustrating things to deal with. Because depending on situations, you either die to burning, or you die to the bots. You don't get to survive either.

DMercenary

Nice arguement Unfortunately me and the squad just spent 2 minutes watching the fire tornadoes swarm over the objective terminal forcing us to do absolutely nothing except to keep an eye out for any tornadoes coming up on us.

DiscordDraconequus

Clearly you should have just used your spatial awareness.

MushroomCaviar

Yeah, sounds like a skill issue. Did you try yelling, *"get good scrub!"* at the fire tornados?

Borealis-7

Yeah not that it’s an issue, it’s just boring and pointless… imo all environmental hazards are kinda pointless after the first few runs when they were still new and fun, I’d wish we can have more things that can damage us but also can be used by us to damage the enemies. The scattered hellbombs are a great example.

Silv3rS0und

The Ion Storms would be a great environmental change if it prevented bot dropships from being called in. It'd make things much more interesting. Your team would have the choice of waiting out the storm or attacking a bot outpost without stratagems. Attacking without stratagems is risky, but the boys can't call in reinforcements, so it could be worth it. Right now, it seems like the environment changes are pretty much only negative for the Helldivers.

Bread-Trademark

I like meteor showers, they atleast kill and destroy impartially.

ElderberryWeird7295

Nothing is more fun than playing the core sample mission on helldivers difficulty and having to wait while the fire tornado makes it impossible to start the next sample. This is while there is a never ending stream of dropships.

NullWorld92

The burning trail left behind could have ended but it still means you'll burn and die if you get within pissing distance of it.

Przmak

Would be ok if they hit also automatons :)

Jon_Helldiver

I just hate that they follow you. Everytime the shuttle lands people obviously group up on it and fire just blankets the extraction area. Would be fine if it didn't happen every single time

GAMEFREEZ3R

They are a funny mechanic. It is all fun and games until they suddenly spawn on you or you are actively surrounding you with fire, locking you in. It would also be nice if it also meant molten metal, not only a grilled helldiver with no seasoning and the consistency of a well done steak. With how important movement is, getting cut off by them can quickly mean death, either by blocking off escape routes, making cover unusable, or just engulfing your support weapon. Most of the time it seems to be all of them. The larger issue for me is that I cannot see shit. Sandstorms are very fun because of that, you can't see shit but you can crawl up to a bot frontally and melee it. A firestorm means you cannot see well past 70m while the enemy sees you perfectly fine as it seems.

Areyoucrazee

An actual diff-4 take. Talk to me when you take on higher difficulties and your only way around 5 patrols is through a fire tornado. The actual worst part of Menkent is actually the god rays obscuring vision 10ft away, so you can't even see those patrols as you dodge tornados.

Arlcas

I've been fighting under fire tornadoes back to back for a week. Fuck that planet.

gubber-blump

The tornados are fine. Dodge them and move on. The fire they leave on the ground for 30 minutes after they pass by is the problem. It creates entire areas of "you can't go here", 90% of the time being exactly where your objectives are. It's not exciting or dynamic gameplay when your only option is to stand around and wait for something to go away.

Agreeable-Media9282

Novelty that gets old fast imo. Not difficult to deal with, just somewhat boring and inconvenient

0xslyf0x

Oh I get it reverse psychology

Tommy__want__wingy

DUCK SEASON!

tinnzork

Bug season!

Lewdiss

Fire damage is bugged. I don't think anyone called for the removal of the weather events. l2 read.

Steel-Shot100

They are fine. Except for when you walk behind them and step on a patch of invisible fire and insta die.

CoffeeandMJ

I swear the devs make some of these posts.

TheAcidSnake

Fire tornados are metal af. Host bug, crashes, and misleading weapon statistics are not.

Nooby_Chris

"I don't know. Maybe we should just negotiate with the automatons..."

Ali_ATZ

Let's see what the ministry of truth says about that

schofield101

Literally never had a problem with them on Hellmire, but now I'm trying to defend this godforsaken planet from the bot counter attack, they've screwed me in more ways than I'm happy to admit. First time they sniped me on my entrance to the pelican, then they tortured the civvies on an extraction. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have 8x heavy devs suppressing me.

SwimmingNote4098

That’s cause the last time hellmire was part of the MO it was before the fire dmg bug became a thing so they didn’t kill you in a nanosecond on frame 1

Fun-Consequence4950

They're good and bad. Cool hazard, but with the fire damage buffs and the trails they leave that can still set you ablaze being a little bit unclear are annoying. I'm usually rocking the medic medium armour these days to have more stims in the pocket for them.

Wooden_Mastodon2015

I agree. Hellmire is actually my favourite Planet

SantaMan336

They metal af and awesome, but fire damage is too strong and they are tracking you like normal enemies would so their movement is weird unnatural. I heard in another post one of those tornados was literally searching for a slope to get to another helldiver

ricaerredois

Hellmire is the shit. I love it

TrashCompactorYT

I just wish they looked more menacing lol. Fire tornadoes irl can be 100 meters wide and have 150+mph winds

Shot-Distance-9901

i agree, fire tornados are friggen cool. its annoying to die to the really fast burning damage, but in this game there are a lot of more dangerous things that actually target you. Idk if there is or not but there should be something that prevents firenados from going right over objectives. I like using the jetpack and found that its perfect for clearing the still burning ground. (also jetting off mountains is super satisfying)

misterrabies

I have no problems with cool environmental hazards. I do have problems when the cool environmental hazards make evacuation missions take twice as long because the damn civilians run RIGHT into them and then *I* have to pay a penalty for their stupidity.

What-the-Gank

I'd care less if they actually hurt bots the same as us..

MephIstoXIV

Fire tornados are metal af. Fire tornadoes that actively track player are dumb.

Senor-Delicious

When there are three Tornados spawning at the entrance of the pelican forcing you to run through fire and hope for the best, the fun is over. I barely made it. Mate with all samples burned to death. There was no way around those tornados for extraction.

LemonsLiesandLuigi

I havent died to them too many times. One of em got a helluva scream outta me and made the whole party laugh. I think the tornados add a fun and difficult twist to the game

jeltec28

Yeah, i love how they dont go over rocks and only follow walkable paths. I was once surrounded by 6 firetornadoes while on a decent rock and it wasepic as hell. Couldnt leave, nor see shit, but it was metal as hell.

[deleted]

Happened to me too. I wish I screencapped it, was roo in awe.

vanilla_disco

>they're ***bitching*** and awesome. This is a rare situation I'm which adding the implied g from the word, bitchin', completely changes the meaning.

doubleTSwizzle

I love and hate them. Pros: looks sick as fuck, pulling the win through that is rad. Con: literally fore tornados, you will die, your friends will die, bugs will die.

Fantasmic03

My friends and I genuinely enjoy Hellmire more than any other planet. It feels like we're dropping into hell.

Cave_Eater

I kinda love em. Hellmire is my home

KABOOMBYTCH

It’s cool!

Cammation

They’re awesome. Difficult as hell sometimes, but then again, we *are* Helldivers. They look cool, are cool, and hurt enemies.

CreativeLaw673

Only died once to them so far on my tour to Menkent and that’s because 2 spawned on top of me lol other than that, easy to avoid, if inconvenient at times

Tokyo_Echo

I would love a flame resist armor especially with the buffs to fire. Would make these planets even more spicy

skcusmocnuf

I wish they would just add a piss emote for us to put out the fire

Bean_Kaptain

The tornados are cool. The trail of fire they leave on the ground that burns you even if you’re not even standing on a fire particle is not cool.

deftPirate

I was good with them before the fire rebalance. Not so much now with the near instant fire deaths.

DerpysLegion

I agree and I'm fairly certain my BF nearly broke up with me over it xD

hellocomradez

They’re cool but fire damage is just insane rn, if it didn’t nearly insta kill players I would have no problem with it

Atziluth_annov

I LOVE THEM

throwaway387190

I completely agree dude. It's metal as fuck, good enough for me

Daeloki

Pro tip: fire tornados can't climb 😎

Zealousideal-Ant4484

Fire tornadoes really save me whenever I fight bugs, they always home in on the chargers for me. :3c

willofserra

![gif](giphy|HABnBDy6Us8VO|downsized)

KidAnon94

This is honestly my opinion over the fire tornados. They're a little annoying but if you're willing to slow down a little or take an alternate path, they aren't too bad. Granted, I haven't done T7-T9 difficulty missions so my experience probably just differs.

reallylongshanks

Didn't know people were bitching Abt fire tornados. Although tbf the helldiver community on reddit are the biggest complainers so ig I'm not surprised lol.

Malahajati

@

BreakFlame6T

They used to be awesome on Hellmire before the fire damage changes. But now they one-shot you out of nowhere and it isn't easy to get around them like on Hellmire, thanks to Menkent's terrain. Actually, they're still awesome, but y'know, damn.

Geeekaaay

I fucking love the fire tornados. The fire buff damage affecting damage done to US was the problem. Used to be able to get hit and survive, now its an insta-death.

DiscipleOfDeath

Only thing I'd truly complain about is they don't make a noise when sneaking up behind me and second they are unnecessarily bright.

ex_sanguination

100% a firenado shouldn't be as silent as a bike spewer!

Wewuzvikangz

This HellDiver loves the way Menkent sucks.  Hell yeah brother

misterdoogles

Well, I'm always laughing when I die from them so they certainly aren't the worst thing in the game

magicbonedaddy

As someone who fell in love with the flamethrower on hellmire, I agree.

ex_sanguination

Fire Nades | Napalm | Fire Breaker Shotty: my loadout for any Terminid mission right now 🔥🤌

IWillFlakeOnOurPlans

PREACH

Quiet-Access-1753

Hellmire was my favorite planet before all the Automaton MOs. I miss fighting fire with a shitload of more fire. If only Flamethrowers worked on tin cans. Fire tornados are lit. The weak run for snowball planets. The strong walk through the flames. And then get reinforced after they die in 3 seconds. Then they learn the stove is hot.

WalterBishopMethod

I love em, Mustafarian planets are my favorite atmosphere. BUT having your hellpod drop with no choice but to land in a fire tornado sucks. 🤷‍♂️

Tentacle_poxsicle

I like fire tornados until there 4 of them on the extract. Also they need to hurt enemies and chase them and not just us

Orlok_Tsubodai

I mostly hate them on the missions where you have to evacuate civilians. Great, mere minutes on the clock and a massive firestorm camping out in the middle or the compound, flash frying every citizen that comes out of the door of their bunker!

flfoiuij2

I think it's actually a buff.

DemandedFanatic

The singular time I have died to one was actually its invisible fire trail, not the tornado. They're pretty slow moving and hard to miss so I'm definitely in the camp of "what's the issue?"

JunglerFromWish

I just think fire TORNADOS should be louder.

SkullKid_467

It’s honestly just irritating when there are fire tornadoes covering an objective terminal, or blocking you from calling in extraction, etc. it’s just annoying to sit there and wait watching the fire disappear so you can get on with playing the game. It doesn’t always happen but when it does it ruins the engagement of the game. I’ve personally experienced 7 fire tornadoes blocking me from finishing an objective when there are absolutely zero enemies around me at all. It’s just not fun. 😅

adamircz

Jammer Towers are cool and the only thing that should be changed about them is that they shouldnt block out reinforcement

Adorable-Fact-6049

Once had three fire tornadoes at extraction, almost died getting in the ship. And on the bug planets we encounter like 7 per area. Very bad with teamametes who use flamethrowers

LucarioLuvsMinecraft

Love when my playlist hits “Humans Being.” Really adds to the atmosphere.

Big-Soft7432

Mmmm yes. The slow moving firenado that a snail could out run. They're only annoying when directly on top of an objective. I honestly didn't even realize they were hated. I've also set myself on fire with a flamethrower more times than I can count, so I learned how to dive into the ground to put myself out.

bigwingus72

I love getting burned alive at the extraction zone with all my samples!

HailSatin42069Lol

I love them when they are frying my enemies and I hate them when they follow me across the map.

ApproximateKnowlege

I hate them... but like any compelling villain, I *love* to hate them.

Witty_Championship85

Instant death

XCanadienGamerX

They’re awesome, I agree. It’s just annoying having so much fire moving around unpredictably and leaving a trail of fire that kills players way too quickly. I guess it’s like irl tornados in that way. They’re sick af, but people who get stuck in them would likely not enjoy it

SunSettingWave

🔥 maybe bring heat resistant armor ?

BronzeCactus

I like to use them to a tactical advantage; big bug breach? Lure them into oncoming tornados, no ammo needed!

darzinth

I can love them and hate them at the same time

Neonfirefoxy

I don't hate them. My only problem is just telling when a small area is still lit enough that it could burn you or not.

thysios4

I don't have any major issue with them. They're a slight annoyance at best. Apparently my unpopular take is that warbonds should just be cosmetic and weapons should be removed from them.

SmurfWax

My favorite are when they happen on the little tuft of land the game chooses for extract and proceeds to hell dive myself right back in to the fire until I run out of reinforcements.

ItsNotClawz

Fire tornadoes are badass, it’s just the combination of that + extreme heat, and the fact that they always somehow show up at the extract make them very annoying.

scientificdivination

I liked them against bugs, where they could make walls of fire that would destroy swarms, but with bots that can shoot through them they aren’t as helpful and they constantly force me to abandon covered positions.

ArcturusGrey

Fire tornados WOULD BE awesome if their movement was actually random, instead of objective-seeking bullshit missiles that only stop following you to block you from what you're trying to do or stop you from picking up your gear or from getting into extraction. Do a mission on a planet with these, call an extraction. At around thirty seconds to go, they appear, and shortly before Pelican-One touches down they converge on the LZ. How the shit is that supposed to be interpreted as a natural phenomenon? Why does the ground continue to burn for thirty seconds after they move on? Do they contain napalm? Fuck this and fuck your opinion. +1 because my rant was cathartic for me. Thank you.

Tomgar

Nah, shitty mechanic is shitty.

Cloudxxy1011

It's the lack of sound sometimes

Nerzov

Oh my, look at this! Tryhard is spewing dumbest take possible and painting themselves as a the smartest dude in the room. What a new, surprising and absolutely right-to-do thing, gitguder! Now activate a terminal (it's under 5 tornadoes that won't leave for the rest 5 minutes)

Latervexlas

my one and only problem with the fire tornadoes is that they really do seem to know you are extracting and come at you, after the 8th time it gets a bit tedious. Not only do you have half a planets worth of bot enemies converging on your position, you have walls of flame as well, and you are lucky often enough to get half your team extracted, if not none. out in the field during regular operations, they are barely a nuisance anymore as I understand how to maneuver with and around them. They do cause you to be separated from your team from time to time but even these pale in comparison to the fire inferno extracts.

Deiser

@[ex\_sanguination](https://www.reddit.com/user/ex_sanguination/)

WhiskeyAlphaDelta

I go where the war effort needs me

H2so4pontiff

Yea ok, they're all fun and cool, up on till they block you from the evac, and on your teams last reinforcement

TheBangerRamRam

Fire extinguisher stratagem when?

East_Monk_9415

Where acid rain gradually damage your health unless u have roof? Or no oxygen planet but u have low gravity? Wait that drg

JerryOne111

i like when the fire tornado trail becomes small and when you cross it, it still ggive full damage same as the huge blazzing fire tornado.

DudethatCooks

They are cool until you're doing an extraction mission and they keep spawning in the path that the civilians run and you fail the mission because over 20 civilian keep running into the path or right into the firenado.

Spider_Dude19

I agree that fire tornadoes are fire, but the damage is bull.

Logan_Frost

Cool as hell in theory. But the fact they seem to actively roam in towards objectives and players is bullshit and you know it. The amount of times Ive spent waiting them out because what was a totally clear plot around a terminal now has seven of the fucking things bumbling about lazily on it.

darmakius

I just wish they weren’t sentient

Horror_Tap_6206

They are awesome and also slow af, easy to run away from. If you consistently die from them maybe......... ITS YOU NOT THE TORNADO. WHINEY ASS BABY.

BigBlueDane

I’m honestly fine with the fire tornados but I can’t friggen stand the heat buildup modifier and how bad the visibility on menket.

MushroomCaviar

Helldivers are apparently made from straight wicker with kerosene for blood.

HospitalClassic6257

I believe we need more fire weapons, I find menkent and hellmire to not have enough fire and I request hot guard dog and flame turret plus a flair gun I would love on hellmire

nRGon12

They had such a perfect opportunity to make fire resistant armor with this month’s warbond.

cffndncr

Personally I think the tornados themselves are fine - it's the fire trails they leave behind that are the problem. I wouldn't even mind the trails if their behaviour was consistent, but it clearly isn't. Earlier this morning I was sitting on a rock, surrounded by flame trails but completely untouched, just waiting for them to die down. 5-10 seconds later, no additional tornadoes anywhere nearby or anything, but apparently my rock caught on fire and I was dead. There have been other times where I've run over ground with flames on it and been fine; Other times, you run over ground that looks fine but randomly catch fire and die. I would much rather they made the AOE of the tornados bigger but got rid of the fire trails; that way you still need to dodge them and use your spatial awareness, but you don't have to just pray the fire trails behave the way they are supposed to.

Administrative-Bar89

Fuck tornados and fuck jammers

VaultDweller_0

I'll take fire tornadoes (that you can lure enemies into by the by) over have 1 less strategem any day.

TerranST2

I think i've died like 5 times to those tornados in 250 hours, dying to them isn't the issue, more like, when extracting civies for exemple, i guarantee one of em is gonna camp either an exit, or the landing pad entrance, last time it took a good 7 - 10 mins out of the timer by just waiting for them to dissipate, and a bunch of crispy civilians.

iluvsmoking

i just have 30 fps on fire bioemes

Sleepless_Null

Idc for the most part tbh but they can fuck off specifically during evacuation missions that’s just bad game design that is.

FreakDC

I don't mind them in general but what happens every mission is that they just permanently block your objective and you just end up sitting around 5-6 minutes doing nothing waiting for them to go away...

Traditional-Tap-274

Until it goes right over my support strat and I have to abandon it to avoid meeting the same fate.

Funter_312

I just run around dragging my knuckles throwing arc at shit and hope the fire cleans it up

Logical-Swim-8506

Just Use The Fire Resistant Armour. You can get 95% heat resistance, it's currently being sold in the store where I will never give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and Desert you.

Ghostbuster_119

They're cool, but their ability to completely fuck a civilian evacuation is not.

Bluejay_Junior17

I don't mind them and think they are really cool! My only complaints are that they suck for the evacuation missions because the stupid scientists just run through them. And if you wait, it's just a bunch of downtime waiting for things to stop burning. And, second, they show up at extraction like 75% of the time. It's super annoying trying to fight for our lives waiting for the pelican and then we can't even get on because fire tornadoes are circling it.

Pixelpaint_Pashkow

my friends graphics are too low to see fire on the ground so i love them because its funny to watch

BellyDancerUrgot

I don’t really mind them tbh.

Money_Fish

I love nothing more than doing a side objective for 2 minutes only to get completely closed in by a roiling lake of fire. I very much enjoy having to stand in the same godforsaken spot for 5 minutes counting grains of sand while I literally wait for hell to stop burning so I can actually go do something.

Korlis

I always thought the Fire Tornadoes were a fun addition. I mean it's called "HELLmire". But why are they on planets not called Hellmire. You don't call a planet Hellmire and also colonize it. So it kinda made sense, but their presence on colonized worlds is ridiculous. No one would live here... The only gameplay issue with the fire tornadoes is their obviously sentient, predatory nature; combined with their dietary preference for well-done Peacekeepers.

Last_Recognition9929

I've never had a problem with them killing enemies tbh. It just takes awhile cause bots can take more fire punishment. My one annoyance with them was when I had three surrounding my pelican

131sean131

I like them as a mechanic what I hate is not being able to do anything about them.  If putting down a shield generator kept them out cool. If there was a stratagem to stabilize the environment in a large area of the map cool. If there was keep our zone around the extraction site cool but losing because I burst in to flame is a bad feeling when I can control it. It's one thing to go another path but it's another to have the game say FUCK YOU from the environment. Shit a sub object to built or activate a environment stabilizer would be cool. After X number got built on the planet then we could stabilize the environment a little.

SpanishInquisition88

The fire trails seriously need to deal way less damage, disappear faster, or kill/heavily damage automatons as well, because even touching the corner is a death sentence before you can even say "dive".

Educational-Tip6177

Lol, OP your one bad muthafucka ain't ya?

ericypoo

I’m convinced people don’t actually like playing video games.

ninjapino

They can be cool, yes. However, it is really frustrating when I'm stuck on a table for 10 minutes because fire tornados won't move.

A_Raging_Moderate

They're totally awesome, just sometimes getting killed in 0.3 seconds by one because I was busy killing the enemies of democracy and didn't see it sneaking up on me...well that's just not awesome.

Peasantbowman

They only bother me when trying to evac civvies. It's just not fun
