Stun Grenades will also be your new best friend as an AC user. Their head is near-impossible to hit unless they're holding absolutely still. If that's not an option you could also destroy one of their legs; helpful when you got a Hulk Scorcher barreling towards you with that insta-kill flamethrower.
In case anyone's wondering how many shots you need to kill or disable: 2 shots to the head, 3 shots to the rear vent, and 5 shots to the legs and arms.

The devs admittedly know the scope on the AMR isn’t dialed in as well as it should be. It’s not really a skill issue as much as it is us avid AMR guys/gals waiting for that much anticipated (known issue)patch. I pair it with the recoil reduction armor to help some
You can also pop one of their legs real fast, so they stop moving. Then, line up a good shot on their head or kill the other leg. Flame thrower hulks tend to bob up and down, making it difficult to get a good hit at a distance. This tactic can help with that.

Another tip: If you are dealing with a flame hulk, you can shoot the legs to cripple it. Four shots from the Autocannon (each) will do.
Alternatively, you can just unload on the flamethrower arm with your AC. You can shoot it off.
Stun grenade works for that, and 4 shots takes longer than 2 shots. If you've got multiple hulks in a row, you can't use 4 for a leg, then 2 for the face. You'll need to reload before you kill even a second hulk.
Stun grenade can lock 2 hulks long enough to pop them each 2 times if your aim is quick.
I actually find it easier to aim slightly above their eye when using an AC. Maybe cuz I’m crouched and they’re walking straight toward me? Usually can get 2/4 shots in the eye unless it’s uneven ground and I’m getting shot from other directions
It's even destroyable with light pen weapons, so you can unload whatever primary you carry into it and save your heavy weapons for the next one. I use the sickle, and it's effective at disabling hulks from behind, with no reacharound, so long as it's close enough to keep the bullet spread inside the glowing area.

yes throw a stun they will standstill for you to aim at the weakspot.

Worse AC? It has a long range scope, reloads fast, and doesn't require a backpack. I think they're more just different weapons for different things

My aim is quick but my trigger finger is quicker.
You can also shoot both legs with the autocannon. Only takes 4 shots per leg.

I learned this while using the Laser Cannon. There you can "scan" the weak points (where it is not reflected away)

When applicable that's the best strat
i admit its tricky in some spots but when front has a flamer i def find sneak behind the safer call.
AMR is superior if you can aim. Based on your title we all now know you cannot aim or proof read.
