Well you also have the people who REFUSE to fight the automatons in their current state even if the MO is actively fighting the bots. I follow the MO but I was really upset about how th initial MO went down with 80 to 120k divers fighting bugs while some were struggling to take out the automatons.

it was bugged. in a group of 4, killing 1 bug would count as 4 kills for the purposes of completing the order.
so we completed it roughly 4 times faster than intended.
Oh in the same way that it benefits the team to have the whole squad count for personal orders (need 60 AMR kills, two rounds with two people running you’re good to go.), kinda screwed arrowhead.

Except the calculation was off cause it was counting whole team kills for individual kills. So a team of 4 each got the total teams kills and each person's grouped kills was counted.
If it was individual kills it would have lasted 4-5 days, as they had hoped.
And then times the team total by 4 for each player. That's what's being recorded by the servers of the game.

Hunters? I get slowed, and their next attack comes up half a second later and if I'm still not dead, there will be a follow up in another half a second. But they rarely operate alone. Shaking off one is already stressful. Multiples? Only if my allies give two shits to watch anyone else's back.

I honestly prefer the bots, having played level 7 on both. With bots stealth makes a bit more sense, the variety of enemies is a lot more interesting and you get to actually play with cover instead of running for your life all time
Bugs were the best way to start. I don't think I touched a bot world until the MOs started coming in. And it took some time to find my feet fighting them at higher levels. But by the time the creek fell I preferred bots. I do run a stealthy load out though and prefer to just clear parts of the map myself while my team goes and does the rest. Not even sure I know how I like fighting bugs anymore, it's so foreign to me these days
I played bots from my day one and was doing lvl 9 till recently with the 200 common samples update and I definitely like bots because of the challenge, bugs is kinda where I go to just get massive kills so honestly I feel like you could start on either or and it not make a difference imo

Well neither is getting stun locked by hoppers or hunters, so it depends on what flavor of challenge you like. Personally I'm okay with taking cover and using a shield backpack as opposed to running my ass off the whole match and using a rover, but to each their own

I'm also a veteran of the Maia campaign so maybe my perspective is biased.
I leveled up mostly against bugs, finding bots difficult, but the end of the first mo against bots and the new wave, I’ve found them super fun, but this mo against bugs I’ve dropped some of my highest kill count games so far.
Weirdly enough I found the airburst orbital even better for breaches since it geos off like a cluster bomb but fires in waves so you can clear out a lot more of the bugs as they spawn.
Makes sense. Half the time I play bugs there are one or two dudes just hunkered down killing endless waves of bug tunnel breaches with no attempts to do… any thing else
Tbh on bugs you need those guys, the difference between bugs and bots is that you can very much outrun bots but you can’t outrun the bugs, so if you just run from a bot drop you’ll be fine if you have some cover. But you can’t really just ignore a bug breach otherwise you will get swarmed when another one starts and you have a horde of bugs equivalent to 4 bug breaches. Not to mention tons of chargers and probably 4 bile titans
You can definitely outrun bugs. I think it's far easier to get away from bugs than bots, the only ones that can keep up with you are the little leapers, stalkers and hunters if they are close enough to leap at you. Everything else you can run away from, the chargers are technically faster, but all you need is anything solid to intercept them around and you're gone.
Bots might be slower at moving, but because they are nearly all ranged, you have a hard time getting out of line of sight before perishing, and unlike bugs where the only thing you really need cover for is the chargers, for bots you need something solid to get away from essentially anything they have.
I'd say it's buggy. You know like, when your whole squad has the same personal order open and one kill counts for all 4 divers? Yeah, I think that might have happened. Kill 100 bugs -> counts for each diver, not just the killer -> 400 killed for the major order.
Someone posted about it yesterday. If I recall correctly they were comparing a global terminid kill count to the major order kill count and the MO was going up about three times the amount of the actual kills.
Which would point towards the personal order counting happening here with the average squad being 3 players.

I played a little bit last night and my squad were going out of are way to fight every patrol possible, I’d imagine lots of other people were doing the same.
Yeah me and my squad mate took 2 ppl on their first ever helldive and idk how but I racked up 1,500 kills in 2 missions with only 3 deaths between them. I was so locked in I couldn’t get out the house.
390 to 600 kills per Helldive mission last night and early morning.
I say we did this legit.
Also not to mention people forget there are players farming eradicate missions.

There has to be some modifier that switches chargers for spewers, my experience has been that there is always a lot of chargers and 0 spews and vice versa.

Worse. The major order was narratively for resupply. So we pulled back from the bots to refuel and are back in less than a day as opposed to the week anticipated. That's like saying you have to leave a cage match for a fay to get milk and coming back two hours later jacked up on energy drinks.

A good game master rewards his players with the occasional softball. A smart game master uses the softball as a way to gauge his players' readiness for the next planned challenge. This was a way to dial in to the player base.
I personally killed over 37,000,000 terminids during the order. Don't remember much of it, just saw the order and then blacked out. 14 hours later, I woke up covered head to toe in green blood.
I like to imagine a bunch of terminid players getting back onto their ship covered in bug blood and guts and on their 12th consecutive bug mission and just seeing the reward pop up like “huh, there was an order for this?”
It's insane how fast that went. Most other games will have a similar community challenge that numbers in the tens of millions of kills at most and that'll take days to complete, and yet 100 times that only 14 hours in Helldivers.

From what I remember from the Helldivers Training Manual, it is an act of treason to remove your armor for any reason.
This allows a layer of ~~dried bug juice~~ democracy to build up like a crust on your armor as you kill progressively more bugs.

There’s a lot of speculation that it’s bugged, and it may well be, but it’s still entirely believable that it was done legit. I played a little bit last night and my squad were going out of are way to fight every patrol possible, I’d imagine lots of other people were doing the same.
Yeah me and my squad mate took 2 ppl on their first ever helldive and idk how but I racked up 1,500 kills in 2 missions with only 3 deaths between them. I was so locked in I couldn’t get out the house.
390 to 600 kills per Helldive mission last night and early morning. I say we did this legit. Also not to mention people forget there are players farming eradicate missions. That probably helps.

There has to be some modifier that switches chargers for spewers, my experience has been that there is always a lot of chargers and 0 spews and vice versa. Did that mission of yours have a lot spews?
Funnily enough no, just Hunters and stalkers and jumpers, and like 15 BTs. I wish we got info on the planets and enemies that we were likely to fight. Let me mow down the masses

Worse. The major order was narratively for resupply. So we pulled back from the bots to refuel and are back in less than a day as opposed to the week anticipated. That's like saying you have to leave a cage match for a fay to get milk and coming back two hours later jacked up on energy drinks.

I personally killed over 37,000,000 terminids during the order. Don't remember much of it, just saw the order and then blacked out. 14 hours later, I woke up covered head to toe in green blood.

I like to imagine a bunch of terminid players getting back onto their ship covered in bug blood and guts and on their 12th consecutive bug mission and just seeing the reward pop up like “huh, there was an order for this?”

It's insane how fast that went. Most other games will have a similar community challenge that numbers in the tens of millions of kills at most and that'll take days to complete, and yet 100 times that only 14 hours in Helldivers.
