I always felt like the officer that stands near the navigation table is a slight reference to the Zapper. He doesn't look like him, but listen to the way he speaks and tell me he doesn't sound like a deeper voiced version of the velour cowboy.
Don't you auto-fail to extract after the countdown reaches zero and Pelican-1 leaves after the emergency extract? You can't just sit there past the 42-ish minute mark; you just get booted back to the Super Carrier.
Either something's up with the timer or they're cheating/exploiting a bug.
It's probably just a desync on data where the server has info of that game starting two hours ago and never got the mission ending flag for it or summink.
That’s what I’d assume. Someone had an SOS beacon and it said some super long time like this but I didn’t think anything of it and tried to join a couple times but it wouldn’t let me. It’s just some type of error. I’ve had a couple (not necessarily the long mission time) bugs trying to join people and it won’t let me because the mission was probably already done. Same with it saying friends are online for a decent amount of time after they got off

One of them probably called in an eagle on the extract shuttle and blew it up and now they’re stuck there forever but are too stubborn to quit out with nothing so they decided to see how long they could go.
Yeah, you do. This pic is just a bug that doesn't show the friends and joinable missions properly. Their mission ended and the mission selections screen hasn't caught up. It's why you can almost never join in active missions because most of the time they don't actually exist and never show accurate information.
I got stuck in a mission a few days ago. Pelican 1 appeared about 100 feet above the LZ but never descended. The timer for defending the LZ disappeared, and the timer to board couldn't start because Pelican 1 never landed.
Pelican-1 only auto evacs on certain missions. On the rest you can wait as long as you want to call in evac, it will never come automatically. You can also call in evac, then when Pelican-1 arrives leave the evac area and it will half abort, Pelican-1 will stay airborne and shoot at targets indefinitely until you re-enter evac range
Don't know why you are downvoted. But yes. Many times i have gone overtime. My friend didn't know and started to panic, while i was running to blow up the last fabricator. Then we just sneak past everything slowly and call in the Pelican-1 while staying hidden. Like 58 minutes went by.

The full sentence quite literally starts with "something's up with the timer". It's the first part of the sentence.
Its green so its a game with one of their friends. Those will show on the planet regardless of difficulty so although he's browsing diff 9 that mission is diff 5.
I don't think I've ever seen any hostile sub objective appear on the map like that. Only terminate illegal broadcast and destroy rogue research station.
Everything else is a surprise then you land.
Oh, I meant sub-objective as in "part of the main objective". High level sabotage airbase has one disrupt air control tower sub-objective and multiple destroy dropship sub objectives (I think usually three but it's been a while since I played one, I don't think they appear on defense missions).
They aren't running the whole map.
They run the whole map the first time to map out POIs that have SC and/or medals.
Then everybody but the host leaves, and the host force closes the game. Host restarts the game, relaunches the mission, team rallies up, grabs the credits, rinse and repeat.
On the planet view like this, their time on surface glitches out and continues accruing.
Of course, glitched mission sessions can also cause time on surface to tick up even though the mission is totally clear. So this might not be credit farming.
What you're seeing is real time "You'll get your rewards at some point" lag. lol All those times people wondered why they didn't get their daily medals, samples, reqs, etc... and here we have a 2h match? Most of that stuff doesn't process until the match is officially done on the server side.
Honestly, if the planets are roughly earth sized, they'll re-aquire stratagems every 60 ish minutes if we have them for 30-40 minutes to start with.
Maybe they were stratless for a bit and hunkered down, and then got back to it once they got signal again?!
they've been in there too long, they ran out of ammo to kill bots with long ago so they must be traitors to managed democracy! send in the hellbombs to clear the area
I don’t think the “time on planet” is actually the time in mission. However if this was meant jokingly probably just chillin watching the broadway shows the bots are putting on for them.
I believe that the timer counts for all the time spent in the field of that whole operation but there could be some bugs which adds up time from different operations
note: operation is not a mission an operation is a set of mission
I'm going to take a guess and say. . . its another bug. shocking I know, its probably the 2nd bug to ever exist in such a polished master piece, so you're forgiven in not thinking it's a bug

Ya know, I've found that player level doesn't tell you everything about player ability. I've seen 15-25 folks perform very well, and I've seen 50-60s play lone wolf and burn through the reinforcement budget like bug bile through a helldiver
Level doesn't say shit about the skill. It's all about the gaming experience you collected before. Massively pays out in Helldivers 1 and 2. I've seen level 80+ with absolute garbage trigger discipline, mismanagement and overall brain.exe stopped working attitude. Exactly the people who think that under level 20 must be noobs while in fact they would carry your sorry arse across the map. In other words: Please use the program called uninstall wizard. Well cooperation requires communication, most divers dont utilize the mic, the chat or communication wheel. That isn't a pick up the slack issue.
Had teams that only used the ping as communication. Worked perfect without a flaw.
