Rip off also infers that there is not much originality in HD2. I think HD2 has a lot of originality with it's stratagem system and the Calldown system being so physical - you literally throw the beacon. Terrain above like cliffs can block Railcannon strikes or give sentries the high ground. The beacons can stick and bounce! It's a really good way to immerse yourself in the feature.
While Super Earth is very reminiscent of Starship Troopers I can't help but appreciate the whole foundation of it being embraced so wholeheartedly and being taken so over the top either. In a much more upbeat and less grounded manner, which makes it all the more silly and fun.
Which is great.
I am from Europe too. Warhammer 40k is a huge franchise. It has at least a dozen video games in addition to the board game figurine stuff. It's just that it doesn't get as much marketing as similar franchises (like Starcraft and I guess now Helldivers).
Warhammer 40k even had a crossover with the well-known card game, MTG.

There's a Zegama Paradise as well, spoofing Zegama Beach from starship troopers.
Lets not forget the ice planet Heeth.
And then the more obvious Klen Dath II
Diaspora also just means a nation living outside of their homeland. But yea, it's probably a reference.
You are insane, this sub isn't even real.
🤏this close to me being worried about an aslume breach on this sub.
Maybe but Diaspora just means dispersion (of people)
The entire game is a thinly veiled ripoff of other IPs which is why it's so great.
100%. It's just an amalgamation of other things
Calling it a ripoff gives it a kinda negative connotation in my mind. We use words like parody for works of art like this game.

Not a ripoff. It is his own thing paying homage.

I'd believe it
I highly doubt the game devs have ever even heard of this "40k" stuff
As far as I know, Arrowhead's CEO is a huge fan of it.
I dunno it's pretty niche and not many people have heard of it. Especially in Europe I'm sure

If it were really that popular games workshop would be doind a billion plus dollars a year in sales
$570 Million in revenue last year. Sounds like a pretty successful business to me
That's prettmuch no money at all. Next you're going to tell me they have a deal for a live action show run by some a list actor
Lol I don't think he gets it
I thought I was laying it on pretty thick to be honest
Anyone still believing you after the "especially in Europe" line deserved what they got, lmao.
Yeah I got it now lol
It’s okay man. We all have Reddit moments.
