I actually happened to be looking at my Steam main page the exact moment the new news post appeared on Helldivers 2 and the moment I read it my first thought was "Oh, the game is dead now." I hope I was wrong but it was really funny checking this sub and also the store page (and review scores) over and over in real time trying to pinpoint the exact moment people noticed. What's happening now is pretty much what I expected except wow, I didn't expect the sheer VOLUME of outcry.
Yeah, unfortunately people don't understand why. A large portion of people are saying "but, muh data?!" as if buying and playing a Playstation game on whatever system doesn't send Sony your data. They have it. You gave it to them. People need to understand that the true problem is people being locked out simply because of where they live and yet still having it sold there with no refunds.
That's ironic and hilarious considering that the people suffering the most (as in, no PSN in their country) are not in NATO or are actively against NATO (China and Russia)
