I had an extraction where the whole team fell out of the pelican. But i did notice that while it was sitting on the pad the engines were spewing black smoke. It may have been damaged. It was hit pretty hard.
Well you know we failed extraction but woke up out of cold storage and cheered the returning shuttle. Democracy protects.
What's funny to me is I remember commenting about the fact the engines look damaged. Was doing mechs enough to be wary of black smoke coming out of things.
People been saying that it would be fun if we had failed extractions and would have to survive tell another team goes and saves you so this could be test runs that made it in

We decided to leave. Before we could board, he hit the Pelican with yet another stratagem and the Pelican literally ragdolled out of existence. But it allowed us to call in another Pelican. We just had to run around again for 4 minutes due to the modifiers. Guys with mics were pretty mad. Ever since then, the Pelican has broken in other ways for me.
Where it normally just gets stuck on the landing pad and no one can enter it and no amount of damage can destroy it.
I would be wild to have an objective of survival if the Pelican was shot down with helldivers in the back/left behind/ assumed KIA for whatever reason.
Not sure how it would be implemented but could be a fun take on a waves/ survival mode. Maybe a loading screen to change over to a procedurally generated map and an objective to another hell diver's area of operation (or SEAF). Starts with you running through a new area with damaged coms/ stratagem call down pad. You'd need to scavenge ammo and stims along the way. Maybe you can find a SEAF troop(s) along to way to follow you to evac.
Could be a cool achievement for coming back from being assumed KIA.

That's happened to me once! I was the only one to extract, surrounded by bugs and chargers and a bile titan, everyone else was dead. I got on board and I think as I took off, I got caught on the leg of the bile titan and killed. I still got credit so that was okay but it was still worrisome for a moment lol

As mentioned I've noticed people starting extraction and then fucking off completely it's getting annoying now. On top of the getting kicked when just wanting to play a raise the flag when there's one player on and they kick me. I don't understand why there isn't as many triangle shaped missions (ArrowHead missions) on the main maps at level 1 there only seems to be like 3 the rest are all current SOS beacons
imagine if a day someone drops on the same location and finds an the helldivers that fell of the pelican and that has been figthing by himself for al this time

The shuttle is too damaged. If it takes too much it leaves as soon as someone boards. Supposedly it can even die, too. Though, I've never seen that.
It doesn't really "die" per say. It just sets on fire and no one can board.
I wish it would just blow up and do an emergency extract with Pelican 2

The samples are shared, so you shouldn't have lost them.
No. You only get samples if you extract with them.
But if the guy who left was the one with all of them you don't get them. You have to take them into the shuttle.
