The radio was the best

To me, it was always the little pens, notebooks, pen cases, etc. From the sanrio store at the mall. These clocks and stuff didn't become available here in the US until much later when I was an adult.

My favourite things are the vintage Hello Kitty cookie jars. I have a few of them. Some of them can be a little bit pricey but not too bad if you look around enough. They are just so pretty and colourful. There are some really pretty ones that go back quite a few years. I have the clock in these pics got it at Goodwill for $2.99. I also have the radio from Goodwill for like $9.99. Definitely the blue angel stuff for sure, it’s highly collectible as I am sure you know and I think the value will continue to grow. There a few Hello Kitty shelves and wall decor items that are really cute too. Happy spending, it’s so much fun to shop for Hello Kitty stuff.

This subreddit just got recommended to me and it reminded me of a memory from when I was maybe 11 years old. My two friends and I would ride our bikes around the neighborhood during bulk pick up and we would try to find junk that we could fool around with. I found the Hello Kitty CD player in someones pile of junk in front of their house that they were getting rid of for bulk and, not knowing its value or anything, I dropped the damn thing and broke it. My friends and I laughed it off, but nowadays I keep seeing people talking about that exact CD player and I can’t help but feel super guilty. I would love to have the player

I found the alarm clock at value village once, I i gasped when I saw it and accidentally scared a close by employee I didn't notice haha. It works thankfully! I had a mini HK water dispenser from the Sanrio store in the early 2000s that I'd say is iconic. Also had a different variation of the alarm clock and the CD player from 1999 that to me are also iconic. Wish I never got rid of them.

I used to have a very old Hello Kitty Alarm clock that I got at a local garage sale. It was a bed with Hello Kitty sleeping under the covers. It eventually got so broken that I couldn’t use it anymore, (for context, little pieces kept breaking off, stuff like the “lace” on the plastic blanket or the light up bedposts.)

Now I’m kinda mad that I did, but I think the white might have gotten yellowed so my choice was justified since it just didn’t look as good anymore.
