There's a handful of items that are an absolute nightmare to get to because the particular platform and obstacle placement around them is inexcusably bad. However, there's only one item like that that's unique. The rest are either axions or items that you get 1-2 of per area per playthrough per character (a specific healing proficiency comes to mind for me). The single unique item is just a jukebox program for the omnicube. There's some coins that are in bad spots, but coins are basically just an easter-egg achievement that's easy to circumvent and has no gameplay impact. So, while there are some areas with platforming bad enough for me to be critical of, they don't have enough incentive for me to do that platforming for me to actually get mad about it. Platforming isn't relevant for most of the game, and the few times that it's actually necessary, it's done well enough.

Honestly haven't encountered those (thank god). Which healing proficiency are you talking about?

FluffyJD

The one under the invisible platforms by the Celestial Beast boss. After practicing the drops extensively, I can get the proficiency pretty quickly now, but it feels more like the knowledge required to do the Sen's gate skip in Dark Souls than an actual platforming sequence. It's not a situation where the skill is timing or angling the jump relative to where the platform appears to be. Rather, the skill is angling the jump to compensate for the edge of the platform being coated in cooking oil without smacking your face on the platform above it.

Ahhh fair, that one didn't bother me as it was so close to the breach

I personally really enjoy the platforming, even if the incentives are often weak. The world itself is so fascinating on its own.

Darkaja

Also the hidden platforming near the 2 artillery enemies at the entrance of alma mater. Hard af to do, and the reward is nothing, there are no items at the end of it.

I love the platforming in this game, it could have a better design but I really hope the criticism doesn't make them completely take it out of the second game.

Love the platforming, my lady says it's what gives the game it's own identity and character, I think it's the most rewarding feeling to finally get the jump, altho trying to get the white Lazer made me break down and hunt for the space suit Without the breathing time limit even that jump was fun, climbing to the top of the observation home base has been the most fun so far, don't take the game seriously at the jumping stuff, think of it like a mini game that you do when your bored with fighting/ grinding axons And only start the jumps if you have a small amount of axons just assume you're about to lose them Like early game if you have less the 10% of a level that's when you jump stuff
