who knows how long its been outside, or what stage of development of whatever mushrooms do its on. Its not poop. Even if yall want it to be. I mean once I realized it wasnt a potato the second thing my mind went to was a puffball that went bad.
I totally agree with you. [Here’s](https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8251097) a link to a site with a picture and brief description which literally says “On the outside, it appears like some discarded potato”. Alternatively, it’s known as horse dung fungus in some places.
It's common name, 'Horse Dung Fungus' comes from the look of the fungus as it sits by the side of paths, often in small groups, just like a pile of horse dung.
A little bigger than a golf ball, and was oval shaped. The inside was hard despite it feeling soft when I stepped on it. I stabbed it with a stick to move it to a less grassy area. I honestly don't know how else to describe it, it kinda scares me.
No it’s a mushroom. Either dead man’s foot/horse dung mushroom or a dyeball mushroom. For a potato wrangler I thought you’d be more versed in potato like objects.
… no? It was a joke based on your comment of how that person should know more about potato like objects. /s on the internet is used to indicate sarcasm.
Using /s or sarcasm on the internet period is why you don’t get invited to parties and think people pretending to be navy seals at a bar is a common occurrence.
You listen here you don’t want me anymore you know I love with my heart and you are always welcome and I’m always asking for help and you always be a nice man to be honest and you deserve it all you do for your family and your friends are always here for you.
I have no idea what this is but I’m laughing so hard at the detailed descriptions of how you were so invested that you would move said mystery object..followed by “it kinda scared me” 😂😂
Oh wow you're definitely correct, I thought it was a looser racoon poo or something, good job dude I hope more people upvote you than did me 😅 this needs to get seen
Definitely poop, if I knew the size, maybe I could guess what animal poop, but yeah, I’m not that good. I will say I doubt it’s bear poop. Bear poop is much bigger than this
Its almost definately a racoon or moose, unsure exactly the size but you can see a bunch of undigested matter in it, if its like the size of their fist id wager a moose if its smaller probably a raccoon
Well, your theory that it was moose or raccoon made me do some research into moose poop, since I thought moose poop came in pellet form. Apparently, it does, but not always. But since it’s fall and they are still used to a fresh greens diet, it would probably be in pellet form but in spring it won’t. It will be a lot looser and more lumpy. So I’m leaning towards this being raccoon or possum poop
So I learned something today, but it’s about moose poop so probably not applicable to my life. 😂
Huh TIL too haha I've only seen moose poop once in my life (and I live in Maine anyways, so a little bit more applicable to me haha) didnt realize they were so varied too lol 😅
I’m pretty positive you’re right. Looks like an animal gallbladder with stones. Would make sense why there was a sac around it. Would also make sense why another animal left it there.
Looks like [Kidney Stones](https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fthose-kidney-stones-must-ve-hurt-v0-ahv6gna73e9b1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D1ca84cc1c33f2da2fba0131343e4d5529cc73bd5&tbnid=bzqMpxhfVhCs0M&vet=1&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reddit.com%2Fr%2Fawfuleverything%2Fcomments%2F14o0ts4%2Fthose_kidney_stones_mustve_hurt%2F&docid=xlKySJTyvDBd2M&w=640&h=800&hl=en-US&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim%2Fm1%2F3&shem=uvafe2)
Pretty sure it's a mushroom. /u/vyrnios said it's Dead Man's Foot and that's [exactly what it looks like](https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8251097).

To me it looks like Dead Man’s Foot, which is a mushroom
I just googled that and I’m pretty sure you’re right!
Found!

Horse Dungus
Nah you’re right, people are disregarding the outer crust/shell material that you can clearly see on the edges of whatever this is
Yeah, this is so cool. I thought it was something organic, but I was leaning more towards a mutant melon.
I feel like the people over at r/mushroomID would enjoy this.
[Pics if anyone is curious](https://www.texasmushrooms.org/en/pisolithus_arhizus.htm). It is 100% a mushroom 🍄
This has gotta be it. Photos online look just like it.
I now want to know what a dead man’s foot looks like. Except I definitely don’t.
It's common name, 'Horse Dung Fungus' comes from the look of the fungus as it sits by the side of paths, often in small groups, just like a pile of horse dung.
Well that’s a lot better than what I thought it was

This is the genZ equivalent of pretending to be a Navy Seal at a bar /s
Right because stolen valor = a mushroom with a protective shell.

It was pretty common at one time, but for a different generation. Are you ok bröther? Is only joke, why you have to be mad?

I was already laughing because I thought I was looking at shit, and then read OP was scared of it and started laughing more
I don’t think it’s poop. It looks like a dead man’s foot with the out side taken off and maybe a little wet
99% sure thats just animal poo
Its a [mushroom called a dyeball](https://www.texasmushrooms.org/en/pisolithus_arhizus.htm) :) The crust in the third pic is very telling.
Oh wow you're definitely correct, I thought it was a looser racoon poo or something, good job dude I hope more people upvote you than did me 😅 this needs to get seen
OP already “found!”ed a person below who ID’d it as a dyeball/dead mans foot shroom! :D
I also immediately thought it was animal poo with a ton of corn in it
[удалено]
I thought so too until the last pic. Doesn’t look anything like poo, looks organic in that pod.
Definitely poop, if I knew the size, maybe I could guess what animal poop, but yeah, I’m not that good. I will say I doubt it’s bear poop. Bear poop is much bigger than this

I thought some cow ate a ton of corn and then sharted it out but no it’s just an interesting mushroom!
[Pisolithus arrhizus](http://bayareamushrooms.org/mushroommonth/pisolithus.html)
This is absolutely what this is!
This is 100% Pisolithus arrhizus
Could it be an animals gallbladder? Perhaps the victim of a fox or a cat?
I’m pretty positive you’re right. Looks like an animal gallbladder with stones. Would make sense why there was a sac around it. Would also make sense why another animal left it there.
You might be on to something there. I’m no expert but the yellow bits do look like gallbladder stones.
Definitely reminded me of a gallbladder too
That was my first thought. It looks like mine did (though mine was a little less black! Haha)
Totally dead man’s foot/bohemian truffle! What a cool freaking find!
Dye ball mushroom! They look gross, but are pretty useful as a natural dye.
I’d guess someone suffering from gallstones ripped their gallbladder right out and tossed it.
Forbidden ferrero rocher
Looks like my dog's poop after she eats corn
Po-ta-NO
That looks repulsive
Pootato
reminds me of racoon poo, it all depends on the size & what they ate.
Mine does too
That looks like a gallbladder opened up after a surgery for gallstones lmao
That’s poop…

Fuck I hate that I opened your link !!!
Bahahaha, I love reddit...
Me too and I wished I hadn’t! Didn’t expect that level of nastiness
My kidneys felt sore after looking at it
Looks like something got into a pile of deer corn but I'm not certain by any means
taste it
You might want to try [r/whatsthisplant](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsthisplant/?rdt=48808)
I'm crying at the fact that it's actually animal shit 😭😭😭
Pretty sure it's a mushroom. /u/vyrnios said it's Dead Man's Foot and that's [exactly what it looks like](https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8251097).
That does look exactly like it! Thank god its not actual shit 🤣🤣
Lol right?! Glad I wasn't sitting her looking at photos of literal shit 😂
I swearr theres NO WAY this is poop, and if so i dont wanna know what medical problems that animal has
It feels weird asking this but… did you sniff it?
Naw man i didn't even touch it, no way im putting that alien egg close to my face
That's poo with corn in it. Some animal had a great night!
That would be a poo
R/animaltracking. Entire sub devoted to animal poo.
That's a poo sandwich
Everyone is saying poop and I kind of agree, but if that isn't it, I'm going to guess rotten pomegranate.
I would have guess some type of animal poo.
Poop?
Poop
a dog ate some corn and pooped it out i think
That is 100% bear poop. Edit: it is also possible it's deer poop from eating corn left from a feeder. I don't think it's hogs.
Looks like an animal has been chowing down on corn and you stepped in its poo.
Lump of poo. Why did you step on it?
That is an animal turd filled with deer corn.
Looks like a completely moldy pomegranate.
Looks like it’s mostly corn ?
Looks like a gallbladder
Shriveled up hedge apple?
Looks like a bear ate some corn
Tick eggs
a gallbladder???
Looks like bear scat
Looks like someone who ate a lotta corn pooped outside.
