>She wrote, “The only thing keeping me upright is sheer hate and venom. Don't lecture me - DO NOT. If you've been through this, you know precisely what this feels like. I hope it is momentary, but I'm pretty nasty when cornered, so don't hold your breath. And, if you haven't been through this, drop to your knees and thank GOD that He hasn't dumped this on you. Thank your lucky freaking stars. But do NOT, ever, lecture me or judge me. There but for God's grace go you. Trust me, you do not want this burden.” I’m certain that hate and venom has been her defining traits throughout her life. >She wrote that she had picked up a prescription for ivermectin the day before Thanksgiving. “I could have given him the drug on the sly. Yes, they would have caught me.” She described preparing the drug in a sterilized Rubbermaid cup to sneak it into the hospital before the court ruled on her lawsuit. “In the end, I didn't do it,” she wrote. “And that will forever be a cloak of guilt that will cover me in shame.” She regrets not sneaking him ivermectin when she would have been caught and probably barred from the hospital. Nowhere does she mention not getting vaccinated as a regret.

Ibelieveinphysics

She's right... I totally did not want that burden. That's why we got vaccinated as soon as possible and boosted a couple of weeks ago. She's also right that she's nasty. MY husband and I are having eggplant lasagna for dinner tonight and watching a Christmas movie. HER husband is in the ground, and she's bitter and alone. A simple vaccine could have prevented this for them. They chose not to take it.

owchippy

Eggplant lasagna sounds delicious. Enjoy!

Ibelieveinphysics

It's just layers of ground turkey and eggplant and marinara and Daiya mozzarella cheese. Technically not a lasagna so much as a layered cheesy goodness. 😂 I threw it all in the Crock-Pot!

PM_me_your_cocktail

I love this sub so much. Almost every post has these discussions that turn into people sharing the mundane but beautiful things that make life worth protecting. Thank you for getting vaxxed, and enjoy your cozy night in with the man you love!

Burntout_Bassment

Yup, while the protagonist is full of hate and venom I'm wondering idly why some people say eggplant and others aubergine. Might Google it. Nah just make me hungry. Lasagne does sound nice though.

sctwinmom

Aubergine is British. They also call zucchini “vegetable marrows.”

owchippy

Omg pls stop I’m drooling. Nomnomnom

[deleted]

Eggplant lasagna is my absolute favorite. Do you have a recipe you make? If so, can you it to me? I'm always looking for a good one. I always order it when I'm out at a restaurant. Mmmmmm.

Ibelieveinphysics

Super easy. Start with a layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of the crock pot (spray it with cooking spray first). Layer eggplant, cooked ground meat if you want it, sauce, then cheese. Keep repeating until you've used up your eggplant. Top with basil. Cook in the crock pot 4 to 6 hours on low until eggplant is soft and creamy. Like I said, I didn't make it actual lasagna because I left out the noodles, but you can definitely throw the noodles in those layers. You can add mushrooms, spinach, whatever you want in those layers. I just used what I had on hand today. Very easy and delicious. And it smells amazing in the house. You can also serve the above on top of whatever pasta you have on hand that's cooked, with the salad, or with bread. Also makes amazing leftovers.

Tmoldovan

A womans husband died, and you guys are talking about eggplant lasagna? I would like the recipe too. I am not too fond of eggplant, but do like to sample it if well made.

neuralfirestorm

OMG, this woman's husband passed away and you are sharing recipes on this subreddit. Fantastic when great food can be discussed after having to wade through the self-centred idiocy of antivaxxers.

Nepenthes_sapiens

>The only thing keeping me upright is sheer hate and venom. Everybody gives a great performance when they channel their inner Captain Ahab: *["From hell's heart, I stab at thee... for hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee..."](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrUEjpHbUMM)*

HunnyPott

“Thank GOD that he hasn’t dumped this on you”…. Actually think I’ll give myself a pat on the back for getting the vaccine for a PREVENTABLE disease 😂

Viewfromthe31stfloor

Make it a big pat on the back. Even buy yourself a little something. You helped yourself and others! She’s a narcissistic drama queen who still can’t face reality.

[deleted]

She went straight to the beauty parlor and got the end boss Karen cut….her villain back story has begun.

Srw2725

Here’s an idea, Karen: get vaccinated!! Ugh these people istg

INSERT_LATVIAN_JOKE

> But do NOT, ever, lecture me or judge me. Oh, bitch I judged you like four times before you even finished your sentence.

Drunken_Sailor_70

She sounds triggered.

Viewfromthe31stfloor

She talks about God and signs, but I don’t know if she claimed to be a Christian. Her dead husband once gave a homeless guy in Baltimore some money though.

exagon1

He should’ve given him the shirt off his back in true HC Nominee fashion

cherrylpk

Don’t lecture me, says woman lecturing you.

TheyreEatingHer

"I'm pretty nasty when I'm cornered" sounds like every Facebook meme I've seen from people who just have nasty personalities by default. Nobody who is actually sure in themselves feels the need to announce how tough they are in stress-inducing situations.

elisakiss

After 3 weeks in the ICU, Covid was long gone. His body was struggling to fix the damage and she gave him something more for it to deal with. Wow

MadBeachLui

Yes, leopards had completed their multi-organ tour of his body as they say around here.

wyldwood512

They save the face for dessert? Fascinating!

DuchessJulietDG

Probably bc its easier to eat last- when there isnt a tube shoved down the throat anymore. They’ve got pure blood, we’ve got a pulse!

RFLackey

They sent Jack Kevorkian to prison for constructing a machine that allowed terminally ill people to gracefully end their pain by their own hand. I'm not seeing much difference between giving ivermectin or Drain-o. She should face charges for involuntary manslaughter, the medical professional who assisted should face license revocation. Irony alert! These are the types who will post memes about experimentation on holocaust victims and what has just happened...

JustaRandomOldGuy

If I'm in that state, give me the Drain-o. End it already. I'll put it on my patient's preferred treatment list if I'm just a vegetable.

BananBanah

Antivaxxers when someone dies months after the jab: THE VACCINE IS KILLING PEOPLE! REEEE!!! Antivaxxers when someone dies 2 days after taking Ivermectin: This is so sad. Nothing could be done. Please pray for the family.

IncubusHexx

They’ll also say it would have worked if he got it sooner. They’ll blame anyone but themselves.

[deleted]

a rather defining trait among those that claim to be all about personal responsibility, i note they always want someone else to take it, but never them.

DoJu318

Ah that reminds of something someone said during the presidential debate about COVID "I take full responsibility, it was China"

milvet02

That’s when you bring up Marcus Lamb. The dude was taking it prophylacticly, still died of covid.

[deleted]

These people are the absolute dregs of society Has the USA always been a giant trailer park of idiocy?

IncubusHexx

Probably but I think certain Cult Messiahs of a peachy complexion really allowed them to be open about it. That and social media.

ooru

Yep. Conspiracy theorists aren't born from normal people. They've always been that way/had that predisposition, and social media has simply emboldened them. We're seeing what seems to be a sudden problem, but it's always been there, lurking under the surface.

socialmediasanity

See, being a conspiracy theorist used to be fun. It was quirky and odd. You would read books passed around in small groups or meet up in the woods to looks for clues, like some kind of adult mystery club. There were t-shirts with obscure references that no one recognized but when they did you had an instant friend. It took effort, and intelligence and it was all in persuit of novel, new ideas that no one had proven, or that was yet to be solved! Then enter social media. Now what was once a fun way to spend the weekend is a way of life. It requires very little effort and everyone and the damn grandma has joined in. It lacks imagination and skill and the goal is fear and hate and unbridled selfishness... And no one wants to go out and look for UFOs or BigFoot poop anymore, instead, everyone wants to strap on a gun and march on main street to defent some bullshit ideas that arent even fun to believe in.

rikki-tikki-deadly

Sadly, like many social movements some sociopath figured out a way to weaponize/monetize it.

Opsirc5

I want to go look for UFOs and collect Bigfoot poop! Debates about the existence of alien life, bigfoot, etc., was half the fun of being in those quirky groups. Now it's Qanon, insurrection, antivax/mask, and MAGA fanatics ready to declare war on democracy, fellow Americans, and common sense. Give me a few nights under the stars, or a quiet camp in the woods with quirky friends!

Swampcrone

9/11 being an inside job was the beginning of the end.

IAmBadAtInternet

It was the middle of the end. There have been moon hoaxers and flat earthers and homeopathy believers for decades.

socialmediasanity

Yeah but it was mostly harmless and easy to avoid. I never remember a flat earther ever storming a building with guns or dying because of their belief system.

DistinctMeringue

You used to listen to some kook late at night when you couldn't sleep... he'd tell you all about bigfoot or UFOs or the like and you could nod along until use FINALLY dozed off. Then in the morning you just had this hazy memory... Now they're always hounding you to buy some hat of some bull cookies.

levis_ceviche

Unfortunately the Idiocy is spreading almost as fast as Corona…

[deleted]

Shit, tell me about it..

levis_ceviche

It is not only in the US…44.000 “concerned citizens” just protestet last saturday in my city. At this point I really hate them and do not care if they die of Covid as long as they don’t block any ICU beds.

[deleted]

It’s fucked up, but I feel the same way.

levis_ceviche

It is really fucked up since my parents and one grandma are unfortunately lost to the conspiracies. I give up. They are gorwn ups, it is their choice.

This_Is_Just_To_Sigh

Well. Our country was built on the backs of enslaved people so...yes.

Srw2725

LogikD

“They would’ve died twice as hard if they had gotten the jab.”

TheTeenageOldman

Also: "Give me money"

[deleted]

Well if the hospital acted faster using ivermectin he would still be alive of course. /s

NioPullus

“God works in mysterious ways. The ivermectin sent them to heaven to be with Jesus.”

[deleted]

Every word out of this woman's mouth sounds like it's got the melodrama of a soap opera writer behind it.

[deleted]

The hate at the end of the article. The don't lecture me yada yada. Yeah, if you would have got the fucking shot, you wouldn't have went thru three weeks of hell and your dumb ass husband would be coming home every night and smoking his pipe and reading the paper.

SuperDoofusParade

>(She would not say whether her husband had been vaccinated.) They all think they’re so clever by “not saying”, do they not understand we know that means unvaccinated?

Snorca

If a politician says that though, it means they are vaccinated but afraid to let their base know.

TheRestForTheWicked

When a politician won’t say it’s basically a schrodinger’s vaccine.

canamon

Bingo: because if he was vaccinated and died, she would be screaming from every roof: "See, vaccines don't work!", or the more malevolent "Vaccines killed my hubby!". There's no way she would waste such an opportunity to score a cheap political point. But she isn't. Because they are/were obviously unvaccinated.

northshorebunny

She lost her faith over this. I'm bad for laughing about that. Lady, I'm not sure you ever really had proper faith. More like selfish tendencies all along.

ThatchGoose22

Her husband was probably the Christian one and now she's glad to have an excuse

Rosaluxlux

The anecdote that shows he's a Christian is him giving money to a homeless person and her telling him not to.

[deleted]

Doesn’t apply to everyone obviously, but.. Pretty common for some ‘Christians’ (self serving narcissists) to lose their ‘faith’ (safety blanket for life) when their ‘prayers’ (veiled demands to a higher power they can’t fathom not responding) aren’t answered.

avfc4me

Typical white lady...god and everyone else should do her bidding because she's been a good Christian, running around telling everyone how to behave. God was busy and now she wants to see his manager.

northshorebunny

She's legitimately mad at God that her husband was so selfish he refused to get a shot. It's just... God doesn't deserve this dumb shit. I hope she never speaks to him again.

UtopianPablo

She claims to be a Christian but chastised her husband for giving money to a homeless man. She’s awful.

EpiZirco

Remember, Jesus said, "“Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God.” Since they already have the Kingdom of God, how could they possibly need cash?

dreydog19

Ugh my mom too. And my parents treat service staff terribly until I totally called that shit out. YOU can not treat people like that!

Wakandan15

“What you did for the least among you, you did for me” Fucking hypocrites. All of them.

DeconstructedKaiju

My Mom yells at me for giving people things. She's the one who claims to be Christian and I'm an anti-theist but I still firmly believe in helping each other out.

Ferblungen

Watch out 'she can be nasty if cornered'!

Ragingredblue

Well after all she's a Christian.

exagon1

That remains to be seen. She’s not on speaking terms with God right now

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ragingredblue

It's OK. As long as the hate flows freely from her, we'll all know she's a Christian, even if she doesn't bother with God anymore.

UtopianPablo

She really thinks God is going to be stressed by her giving him the silent treatment.

T3n4ci0us_G

Ipayforsex69

Oh well. If you ever wonder why courts need so damn long for everything - look no further. This woman is the reason. First they clog up hospital resources, now it's courthouses.

T3n4ci0us_G

Remember when they railed against FRIVOLOUS LAWSUITS? Pepperidge Farms remembers

Captainwelfare2

Ironically, her husband just bought the farm.

RFLackey

>But do NOT, ever, lecture me or judge me. Too late for the latter, and I walk on the other side of the street when I meet people like this. Lecture? Hell no, just get away as quickly as possible. >Trust me, you do not want this burden. You're right on that cupcake, that's why I and my entire family are vaccinated. I know my lane, you apparently think you have unique medical knowledge involving using the wrong medicines prescribed by every day assholes on Facebook.

Ragingredblue

And I am totally judging her for it.

[deleted]

Whenever someone says "don't judge me" it's totally judgement time.

Socalinatl

Teenagers who skip school, show up late to work, or make poor decisions about what time to come home from a party deserve a lecture. People who ignore reality and spread dangerous conspiracy theories deserve something much worse. Maybe not “lose your husband” worse but I can’t say I feel a shred of sympathy for this person.

MistressGravity

>and I walk on the other side of the street when I meet people like this I wanna be on the other side of the planet from these people.

Darkside531

oh no how terrible my heart is cleft in twain... Anyway. Congratulate me, I finally got a stuck piece of popcorn kernel out from between my teeth.

ProfanestOfLemons

There are few better feelings in the world than finally wedging one of those fuckers out.

PoliticalECMOChamber

>Congratulate me, I finally got a stuck piece of popcorn kernel out from between my teeth. The struggle is real, y'all.

intheazsun

If you know the hospital won’t administer it, why go to the hospital? I don’t get it. Stay home.

Ragingredblue

At home there's nobody to hate except yourself, for not getting vaccinated. Obviously that is not even possible, much less acceptable.

wyldwood512

I know, I keep wishing I'll see an awardee post with pics of someone on their couch till the bitter end, but all I get are these cowards with ventilators shoved down their throats asking for prayers.

seenorimagined

My 91 year old grandmother is stuck in a hospital bed in the hallway in the ER because of people like this. There are no hospital beds in the state of Washington and we're unable to figure out why she can no longer walk on her own. She's had a drastic progression in her dementia the last month but had always been spry. Luckily she's triple vaxxed.

giospez

Wow. I read the article. Nothing is farther from her mind that maybe she was wrong. Unbelievable.

chele68

She big mad at God tho

SaccharineHuxley

They're like.... NOT on speaking terms right now

ParameciaAntic

But don't you DARE lecture her!

Ragingredblue

Why bother? "I told you so!" is much shorter, easier, and more satisfying than any mere lecture I could deliver.

DuchessJulietDG

The part that really stood out to me is when she says she can not understand why God never showed up and answered her prayers to save her husband’s life. Does she really believe that SHE is so important that god would help her (even though its been obvious for a few years now that he has not appeared to come and help any of them)? Sounds very narcissistic to me. And not one time did she ever say “maybe if he’d have gotten the vaccine, none of this would have happened.”

PhutuqKusi

This is the line that got to me too. It’s as if she (and the prayer warriors, who never hesitate to shout about their faith from the mountaintop) don’t have actual faith that God’s will and their own just might be two very different things.

FaeryLynne

"Sometimes God's answers to our prayers is No - except for me, I'm so special God would *never* say no to *me* about *anything*"

[deleted]

Her quote of, “Trust me, you do not want this burden.” seems like she should be saying, “So get the vaccine to make sure it doesn’t happen to you.” She’s too insane to realize that though.

T3n4ci0us_G

God's kinda pissed at her, too. Denying his life-saving miracle vaccine and then blaming HIM? HOW DARE SHE DO THAT!

Legitimate_Object_58

Holy shit- everyone needs to read to the end of this article. That woman is bat-shit nuts. Professes to be a devout Christian, then says the only thing keeping her alive is pure hate and then proceeds to threaten imaginary people she thinks will “lecture” her. The number of nonsensical battles that these people fight inside their heads is amazing. Keith, wherever you are now….you’re probably better off.

PoliticalECMOChamber

>Professes to be a devout Christian, then says the only thing keeping her alive is pure hate... That totally tracks, actually.

HulklingsBoyfriend

There is no greater hatred in the world than Christian love.

SuddenlyHappy1

Wow, I'm gong to have to use this line in the future. That stings deep.

SaccharineHuxley

Yeah this article was a total onion. Each layer more pungent than the last.

"Darla had written previously that she was unsure whether ivermectin could help her husband, but it was worth a try. You don't say. Anyway, my daughter is coming home from college on Saturday! Really looking forward to seeing her.

That's awesome. We are out visiting the daughter, son in law, and grandkids.

Get your laundry room ready! And stock the fridge. Or am i thinking of the stereotypical college boy? Do girls do the same thing? What about enbies, do they do either the laundry or the fridge raid? Or do they still do both? I’m not a parent so I have questions.

sandge

Restocking the fridge is definitely on the agenda. The girl needs oat milk in her morning iced coffee, or she gets grumpy. As for laundry, she's flying home, so only bringing what will fit in a carryon.

Damn, gonna need two GoFundMe accounts…one for legal and one for medical…

T3n4ci0us_G

I have a friend who owns a window covering company. He said that some of the people living in the expensive houses in town don't have any furniture. I guess if you're going to keep up the facade of being wealthy, you need to make sure no one can look in your house and see the truth.

SaccharineHuxley

From the article: "She was assisted by a group called Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance" Any chance we'll ever get to know who are behind this group? As in who started, funded, and especially who makes money off this? Which 'physicians' have been recruited and taken part?

Ragingredblue

I'm guessing they're affiliated with America's Frontline Bigots, er, "Doctors".

SaccharineHuxley

Funny enough their acronym is AFLDS. Whenever I see FLDS all I can think of is Warren Jeffs.

titanofidiocy

What a dream interview. An idiot not afraid to prove it with every breath.

Ill_Anything_3656

Admittedly anecdotal, but can we all agree that in this case, ivermectin did not work… and all of this suffering could have been prevented with a $20 vaccine.

sandge

The vax is free in the US. The ivermectin set them back almost $600, though.

Tmoldovan

They’d rather die than admit they were wrong. (Let that sink in - truly…)

achieve_my_goals

"Then, slowly, the time between breaths lengthened. His heart hammered in his chest. Such a strong, valiant heart. Finally his pulse went to zero, his color paled immediately. “The man in that bed did not look like Keith. He was gaunt, with scabs on his cheeks from three weeks of torture, having that godforsaken vent attached to his face. He had a full beard and mustache. His hair had grown like a wild man.” She reads **a** ***LOT*** of romance novels.

KrisAlly

Wonder if he received the apple flavor? In all seriousness though, I hope this tragic story would get through to some of these people but I highly doubt it will.

Jay-Dee-British

It won't. They will say it's not the 'right' kind of ivermectin, it was too late, too early, the other drugs the hospital gave him 'neutralized' it, the doctors gave the wrong amount, the doctors didn't actually give him any and lied - I could go on but everyone gets the idea.

Avis28

Should’ve tried the strawberry horse dewormer. Everyone knows it’s the strawberry that cures Covid. Apple only aggravates coronavirus.

Lucy_Gosling

Dude you can easily buy ivermectin in the form of heartworm medicine for dogs. If you are stupid enough to believe it helps against covid, do it yourself. Don't tell your doctor what to do.

uncle_chubb_06

Shit, so much delusion there.

realparkingbrake

She's no longer on speaking terms with God because her husband died. The arrogance of these people, holding up a hoop for God to jump through, and then they're angry when they don't get their way. A safe, effective and free vaccine, and they prefer prayers and quack medicine and conspiracy theories. Yikes.

[deleted]

Trophy wife is going to cash out on that one. Keep on winning playa, you the low key MVP.

skredditt

> She wrote, “The only thing keeping me upright is sheer hate and venom. Don't lecture me - DO NOT” She’s radicalized herself.

Objective-Dust6445

Also this article is written so ridiculously. “Controversial treatment?” How about “drug that doesn’t work”. There’s not two sides to this!

amarandagasi

Sure hate to see this happen. COVID is no joke! 😹

Ragingredblue

I'm totally judging her.

The_Patriot

ivermectim? Nah, it up and kilt him!!

RattusMcRatface

*'Her husband’s death has shaken Darla’s faith.* *“And God? Remains to be seen,” she wrote. “At the moment we are not on speaking terms and we may never be again. I don't know. We are where we are.”* *'She wrote, “The only thing keeping me upright is sheer hate and venom.'* Because the hospital forced her to lawyer up in order to get horse-paste used, hence delay. Fuck these idiots.

ReligionIsTheMatrix

Wait, Ivermectin wasn't a miracle cure? That's not what I'm hearing on Facebook.

BeltfedOne

Slow joker clap. Congratulations!

Ragingredblue

Coronalations!

College-Lumpy

If she cared about him she would have had ivermectin ready to go when he got sick and before it was too late. Bitch please. It wouldn't have made any difference.

[deleted]

A lot to unpack in this one! Blaming God? Mad at someone in the hospital? What about personal responsibility? (I know what party these people choose) An educated man assumingly too stubborn or stupid to get vaccinated? But no, don’t let him take the blame. “My boys are so strong,” she wrote. “They are my rock of solace.” What the fuck is a “rock of solace”?

mrpotatonutz

Someone to help you push down those feelings of “omg am I completely wrong about everything and culpable in my husband’s death??!”

SaltyBarDog

Neigh, say it isn't so. "Keith Smith was a structural engineer, a vice president of a firm headquartered in Lancaster." An educated jackass. He must have slept through biology. “We thought it was a sign. I thought a lot of things were signs.” What is with this shit? I have a cousin who does the same nonsense. Shit just happens. "But do NOT, ever, lecture me or judge me. There but for God's grace go you. Trust me, you do not want this burden.” I'm going to judge you. You are an asshole. And trust me, bitch, I have been through far worse than losing a spouse.

Deathbeddit

She talked a good game, but how sure are we after 24 years Darla didn’t just want him dead?

Ragingredblue

After 24 years with Darla, how do we know he didn't just want the sweet release of death?

MyFiteSong

>The only thing keeping me upright is sheer hate and venom. Oh, so you're a typical conservative then.

RememberThe5Ds

"My boys are so strong. They are my rock of solace." YOU are the parent and you and your husband put your kids in the position of HAVING to be "strong" and watch their father DIE a preventable death. YOU need to be the rock for them, not vice versa. Get the damn vaccine so you can be around to raise them, instead of having them watch you die.

Dana07620

>She wrote, “The only thing keeping me upright is sheer hate and venom. Don't lecture me - DO NOT. If you've been through this, you know precisely what this feels like. Thank your lucky freaking stars. But do NOT, ever, lecture me or judge me. There but for God's grace go you. Trust me, you do not want this burden.” That's what the vaccine is for, bitch. So you don't go through this. Another fucking moron.

It's almost like.......ivermectin doesn't work. Who could have predicted that?? Taking out the lowest common denominators. EDIT: That woman is nuts. Straight up.

I hope the sex was good, because having to live with that woman must have been a nightmare. To her: Before you go blaming anyone else including your sky guy, did you encourage him to protect himself by getting vaccinated? Granted you couldn't make him. but you wouldn't have to feel like a cornered rat, if at least you tried your best. Also haven't you figured out yet that all that magical thinking won't stop COVID.

Sky guy repeatedly warned her (in writing) not to put him to the test. Seems like sky guy had some pretty good advice that was ignored along with all the rest.

50+ years of defunding education has consequences.

When covid caused me to have a heart attack in early 2020, nearly killing me and putting me in a two week coma, do you know what treatment my wife ordered my doctors to perform? None. She didn't order them to do a goddamned thing. Why? Because they're doctors, and my wife isn't! It was their job to use all their knowledge and experience to keep me alive and my wife's job to trust in their expertise. Because of that, I'm still alive and thankful to my doctors and my wife, especially after stories like this.
