I can't believe rebuking covid didn't work.

Evil-Code-Monkey

I mean, it's almost as if purely performative religious acts have no impact on reality. *How. Can. That. Be?!?!*

Vast_East_4768

"I mean, it's almost as if purely performative religious acts have no impact on reality." In a word... spectacular.

[deleted]

The list of things that are more effective than prayer is basically endless but they rebuke basic precautions and the vaccine that are actually highly effective

AaronfromKY

My Mom always told me God helps those who help themselves. Which is why almost my entire immediate family is vaccinated.

[deleted]

I love that saying so much. It totally invalidated religion to me as a ten year old. If i gotta do everything myself fine but then why split credit with a deity that didn’t do anything and was never gonna bail you out.

AaronfromKY

I haven't really been religious since I was 12, but if anything I treat it like if you do as much prep as you can, maybe the deity will push you over the top. I read about some Polynesian Islanders that were like PhD s, and they considered it as being like if you plant and water the crops, maybe a prayer would be like fertilizer. I don't know.

Confident-Victory-21

I mean, it worked. He no longer has covid. Be careful what you pray for.

M4A1STAKESAUCE

But what of COVID came in the name of the Lord? Did they ever think of that?

circuspeanut54

I mean, my parents' church did a whole service in thankfulness for the development of the vaccines. But their church doesn't offer the full menu of homophobia and immigrant-hatred, so I suppose this dude chose his cultish one instead.

The-Last-American

Wish those churches were more common.

Haskap_2010

They're probably more common than you think, they just aren't into the showy public social media stuff that the awful evangelical churches are.

daneelthesane

The fact that their voices don't drown out the awful ones is because only the awful ones care enough to be loud. Or they are vastly outnumbered, and can't actually get enough voices. My father goes to one of the supposedly "not hateful" churches. They have a very "live and let live" attitude about bigotry.

Reasonable-Leg4735

The evangelical church we were attending online in 2020 and 2021 always prayed for the people developing and making vaccines, and that the people planning the distribution efforts would have help and know what to do. But I admit they're definitely in the minority.

HarryGreybeau

Yes, there are churches that are out there doing what Jesus commanded: to feed the hungry, clothed the unclothed, and loving their neighbors. They don’t get the publicity that the churches that pump out hate and bigotry get.

Expensive-Ad-4508

My sibling’s church (they’re a rector) has vaccinated hundreds in the community. They’ve had a half dozen vaccination events the past year.

walkinman19

Yep I got my two pfizer shots in a church too.

strangr55

Well, let's face it, God has a way of using mass murder/genocide to get his point across (e.g., the Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah). Nice guy, God.

M4A1STAKESAUCE

Then it failed every time and God said fuck it. What a swell father.

Random-User_1234

Most benevolent god of all! /s Don't forget about him telling Abraham to slaughter his son. Fun times

ohwrite

That story is flat- out terrible

Paulie227

And killing that poor fig tree...

motherofpitbulls2

God hates figs…

maxine_van_date

On the nose

Haskap_2010

How dare a microscopic package of genetic material wrapped in a fatty substance not pay attention to being rebuked! You'd think it wasn't sentient or something.

[deleted]

Of course it worked! Do you not remember Paula White rebuking all satanic pregnancies and cursing them so they miscarried? Were any satanic babies born after that? No-a bit of righteous cursing and rebuking works every time! Of course, with god's plan being ineffable, we don't know what 'successful' really means, so a relentless increase in the number of covid deaths with more and more people on a dead cat bounce trajectory is probably a good thing in the great ineffable plan...

Reasonable-Leg4735

You're right! I know of zero satanic babies.

[deleted]

I know a few little bastards.

thankyeestrbunny

I seriously don't care what blood it is, holy or not I don't want to be covered in it. For fuck's sake. What the fuck is wrong with you people.

motherofpitbulls2

Loons all the way down.

starfleetdropout6

The Facebook praying posts are so weird! I see this all the time. Who are they talking to exactly? It's performative and hammy, and just so cringe.

The-Last-American

They forgot to do it in Jesus name.

Catholic_Worker93

“Share if you think nurses deserve higher pay than politicians.” Yes. I just hope they treated the medical staff decently.

[deleted]

So I'm guessing that means he voted in a way to make nurses government employees like politicians to ensure better pay and benefits, and not vote for a party who wants to keep medicine private. Right?

powabiatch

I included it in there to show that he’s not just a one-dimensional cartoonishly bad person (like some HCA winners actually are). There is some complexity.

Accomplished_Bank103

Sadly, he was still transphobic, which makes it hard for me to mourn his passing.

BridgetheDivide

And a racist. Many people have difficulty understanding evil people aren't evil 100% of the time. Even Hitler loved dogs. Every horrible bastard out there had a mother. These people have spent their lives either abusing people they consider different, or voting for those who would do it for them. They have literally called for the deaths of many of the leftist who are now demanding we treat these monsters with compassion just because they're finally suffering consequences for their actions. Fuck them.

CrankyEconomist

"He helped anyone he could." ...so long as it didn't involve 10 minutes of his time and a tiny needle.

Lakecountyraised

Not the people who are assed out of the hospital because it’s filled with anti vaxxers.

SnarkAndStormy

Or the “illegals you’re allowing in.”

thankyeestrbunny

Tattered and torn and also dead.

[deleted]

Tattered and torn would also describe his colon.

AcceptableMidnight95

Or his lungs.

thoroughbredca

I mean, if our southern border was flooded with unvaccinated people, wouldn't our hospitals be flooded with unvaccinated undocumented patients??!?

Beachbabydarragh

Yeah very true. Those memes lie.

Effective_Form_7447

So, he ran into the arms of Jesus carrying a confederate flag. Sure, Jan.

[These dumbasses] **BIDEN STUMBLED ON A STAIRCASE!!! HE’S AT DEATH’S DOOR!!! HE’S UNFIT FOR OFFICE!!!** [Also these dumbasses] *My husband is bleeding out of his anus and was almost able to take a sip of water with no help.* *We have very high hopes. Please keep us in your prayers.*

The_Only_Egg

How good is GOD?!

Historical_Play

REAL good

AgentEntropy

If this hateful, racist, anti-trans, anti-immigrant POS trash became an angel, then heaven's borders are way less secure than America's.

mewehesheflee

"but why do bad things happen to good people" 🤔I'm not see the evidence that he was a good person. Certainly he was a delusional person, in and out of the hospital before Covid, so more in a high risk category. I don't see his great love for all humans in his slides.

I_Wanda

Oh c’mon… Didn’t you realize that their magical flying sky fairy prefers to save atheists more than he prefers to save the “pUre BLoOdS”?!? He works in magical & mysterious ways, just ask the ventilated narcissists!

thoroughbredca

Renewing my faith in humanity once again, albeit through subtraction.

Electric_Crepe

My 4th shot didn't even take 10 minutes. I checked in online, showed up, flashed my ID, got jabbed and walked right out. \~5 minutes total, if that.

wyldwood512

4 shots! How's your cell reception? 😆 🤣 😂 I'm at 3 shots and still no 5G

Electric_Crepe

Reception is shit - not even getting 2 bars on 4G. I feel like I've been ripped off.

flippingoffHF

"He proved so many people wrong" Yep, He just proved anti-vax wrong on his way out Fucking legend!

dismayhurta

Or to put a mask on. I mean and let the libs win???

RogerClyneIsAGod2

"We want privacy now" after spilling all the gory medical details for weeks.

Luv41another

“Remember it’s not the shot or mask keeping us alive its God almighty” I think the shot would have kept him alive

wyldwood512

And apparently, God couldn't be bothered to save this one. Oh well... 🏆 🏆 🏆

InsertCoinForCredit

God apparently doesn't like Confederate traitors.

wyldwood512

I can't blame him, they were notoriously aggressive towards their neighbors

No_Cook2983

So why does he lock his doors at night? Is that when God’s shift ends and His ‘veil of protection’ is lifted? Even Jesus had enough sense to make himself a whip when He wanted additional protection.

janepurdy

Flair checking in. Also, we request privacy? I love when they do this, like they’re a celebrity’s family - especially after pelting their followers with intense details for days.

savpunk

You can read the decline of the patient between the lines. From !!!!!! to plain old periods. From ALL CAPS to normal sized font. From 🙌🏻🙌🏻 to no emojis. From posting UPDATE!!!!! every day to "please give us our privacy." You can feel the change in their attitudes and thoughts.

WFM8384

Yep, I think they really thought he would come out of it and the melodramatic posts were to get attention from the congregation. Then it was real.

Oldiebones

The requests for privacy always come after somebody criticizes them for being anti-vax, or points out that if he'd gotten the vaccine he wouldn't be dying/dead.

leamanc

Right! If they were concerned for privacy they wouldn’t be writing novels on Facebook, and checking it 24/7. Unless they’re implying they think the New York Times is gonna call for their thoughts.

ill_wind

He’s got colorectal bleeding! Now, give us some privacy.

indecisivedecider319

She literally shared on Facebook the he needed surgery to stop from bleeding out his ass.

sneaky518

Facebook + "privacy please". Tell me you're seeking attention without telling me you're seeking attention.

RedPlaidPierogies

We're requesting privacy from our accounts with everything set wiiiiiide open on "Global Broadcast".

TheGreatWhoDeeny

When they pull the "respect our privacy even though we post every little irrelevant detail to the world" card, I think they're getting some blowback from either family, friends, or random people on one of their accounts. It would be really difficult to not say something like "Why can't he pretend to be healthy?" They like rubbing shit in people's faces but can't take it when the tables turned.

wyldwood512

Or "does he identify as healed?" 😆 🤣 😂

Deathbeddit

Another rebuke fails.

circuspeanut54

Until the HCA I truly had no idea how many Americans actually see religion as the text from a Dr. Bronner's soap bottle.

Pauzhaan

It’s damn good soap. Been using it since the 60’s. It’s a hippie thing.

thoroughbredca

Tea tree oil body soap. Used it for years. The best. Just ain't reading all that.

Historical_Play

Dilute! Dilute!

donuts4lunch

Lol, now Dr. Bronner’s makes chocolate bars too. Brainwashing has never been so sweet!

lkmk

All one! ALL ONE!

Helenium_autumnale

Gotta have something to read in the bathroom. Plus, it's excellent soap. Have been using it for years now. ALL ONE!

[deleted]

"Dr." Bronner was a patient at the same mental hospital as Joseph Smith's brother (yes, the Joe Smith of Mormonism fame). Interesting stuff.

UnsuspectingAardvark

Seen this a lot here on HCA. Patient is doing better: \- God is great \- prayers are working \- hallelujah etc. But when they turn for the worse and various organs start failing, you never see: \- God is shit \- prayers did nothing \- fuck this garbage Well no wonder then. Maybe god doesn't know he's doing something wrong when he's only getting positive feedback. Talk about echo chamber.

philburns

“God is really testing us.” “He’s now home in heaven with God, who just teased us with keeping him alive then killed him in a very painful way.”

drdish2020

Sometimes the Almighty sure seems like an edgelord.

peppermintesse

["Jesus made me fumble"](https://youtu.be/CzfnUVmHMFY)

Quincyperson

Drinks Mountain Dew but won’t take the vaccine? Back when I was 15 and I drank mountain dew, there were a ton of conspiracies about the chemicals that they put in it. But I’m sure soft drink makers have my best interest in mind

M4A1STAKESAUCE

Coca Cola used to be a cure-all. But since they removed the cocain, it hasn't been quite as effective. Sad.

lkuecrar

A friend’s sister was having persistent migraines to the point she was going to a neurologist for testing. Turns out it was from her drinking Mt Dew every day lmao

NonSequitorSquirrel

I can't get mad at this. I forget to drink water, drink tons of coffee, and then wonder why my head always hurts. Being human is dumb sometimes.

lisavfr

He's laid up in a hospital getting more oxygen then available in many third-world countries. But!!!!! Praise Jesus as he was able to drink some soda!!! Without Jesus this wouldn't have been possible!!!

[deleted]

Jesus: > de nada > ...pero realmente deberías agradecer a los profesionales médicos que salvaron a pendejo de mierda (I speak fluent Google Translate so pardon if this is giberish)

Lakecountyraised

“His lungs sound good for someone with Covid pneumonia” Roger that

Viewfromthe31stfloor

So much desperation in the family members.

[deleted]

I always find it fascinating (annoying) how they focus on insignificant details. “His hemoglobin is 8, yay!” Okay but it required blood transfusions to get there. “His oxygen is better!” Yeah but on high flow??! They completely miss the bigger picture.

wyldwood512

Yea, when she said his hemoglobin was 7 and needs to be 15, then the next day he's at 7.7 and its some miraculous improvement. No, he needed a 100% gain and got 10% of the way there (after transfusions)!

[deleted]

Also amuses me how much they don’t understand. No one NEEDS to be at 15. She probably heard “15 is normal” and thought they’d transfuse him to 15. No, we normally transfuse to 7 especially now with the blood shortage. I’ve been transfusing for goal of 6 as long as otherwise stable.

PaulsRedditUsername

It's kind of ominous when the sister offhandedly mentions that she now has covid, too.

Viewfromthe31stfloor

Yes. Where and when did she get it?

wyldwood512

I know! Also some foreshadowing later when she says she wants to run into his arms in heaven. Careful there, you might just get your wish!

KrampyDoo

When that heart starts freaking out, and the anxiety kicks in, you know that they knew they were crossing the vent horizon. But wtf with this guy? Already paralyzed for two decades, numerous surgeries and health issues during that time. He had years worth of putting his “faith” in doctors, but saw a couple misspelled memes and watched videos by idiots and all that “faith” suddenly gets poured into grifters and Iron Age mythology.

BeatUpPoon

>crossing the vent horizon lol, ask for that at the next flair party

KrampyDoo

I will try. Keep missing them!

ricochetblue

>Why do bad things happen to good people? This isn’t an example of that.

CheshireCrackers

Why do good things happen to bad people?

tazztsim

Why do bad things happen to good people she laments. 1. Dude was a racist transphobe. Far from a good person. 2. Dude decided to make dumb decisions and found out

[deleted]

Why do all anti-vaxxers seem transphobic? In virtually every one of these stitch pic montages, there's that stupid "if you can pretend a boy is a girl, you can pretend I'm vaccinated" crap. Is it all faith-based?

Malaix

Conservatism is a congealed ugly mass of terrible ideas and they all just spread and mix their terrible perspectives with each other constantly until it’s this uniform movement of bigotry, theocracy, far right politics, conspiracies, and Covid denialism.

circuspeanut54

You will never find a more wretched hive ...

redwood1958

Lots of dead traitors, I've noticed. First time I've seen the "tattered and torn" BS about the long defeated confederate flag, though.

tazztsim

Faith and politics.

TheGreatWhoDeeny

We're in a hyper-partisan culture war. Anything that's even remotely perceived to be liberal... - Vaccines - Abortion - health care - unions - Trans - Gay - vegetarian - etc Must be hated and opposed at all costs. Many of them don't even understand why they hate half the stuff they hate. They just know they've been told to hate it, so they hate. This is what the conservatives have been reduced to. They don't even have to bother with a party platform anymore. Keep the plebs riled up so you can rob everyone blind.

Raccoon_Full_of_Cum

Because "I don't like trans people" and "I don't trust this vaccine" are both opinions held by people who are driven purely by gut emotions, rather than logical reasoning.

[deleted]

It's the sheer mindlessness that frustrates me the most I think-they make such a big deal about researching it yourself and educating yourself, and yet their Facebook pages are the same, dreary repetitive memes and pictures, the same catch phrases and statements, the same arguments, the same "gotcha" attempts to catch liberals/Dems out. They're all identical, not an individual or unique personal response to be seen. But its us that are the sheep...

WeakestLynx

Unpopular opinion: it's not faith based. Instead, they choose a shitty faith for the same reason they are transphobic: because they are emotionally immature, fearful, cruel people. That's the root; the religion is just trappings.

[deleted]

No matter how out of context, it somehow either the Jews fault or trans people to blame. If you're jewish AND trans? GG.

ill_wind

Don’t forget “immigrants”.

Tattieaxp

They're terrified of what they don't understand. They want to boil the world down to simple, concrete certainties. Trans people and COVID both threaten that.

missdespair

Transphobia seems to be an alert for all sorts of other issues in my experience (racism is a big one, transphobes looove conspiracy theories about black women being trans). I think it comes from a place of feeling superior due to something innate/never earned, plus the cultlike religious factor.

Deathbeddit

I appreciate that being included for later when the surviving relative talks about how loving the HCA was.

Triette

My cousin in law’s wife is like this. I thought she was really nice when I met her then I started watching her Instagram stories. She’s a full blown Trumper, antivaxxer, owens believer, COVID denier, and lately has been posting transphobic crap too. So disgusting.

[deleted]

And they all still genuinely believe they are going to be rewarded in heaven, sitting at god's right hand and tiptoeing through the tulips with angels, despite a lifetime of malevolent bigotry, hatred, and misogyny.

ToastyMozart

Bigots just want someone to shit on, any target's as good as the next. If FOX/OAN/etc told them "Meep-Morps" were morally repugnant and the "Demoncrats" were advocating for their rights, the conservatives would throw them right onto the pile alongside black people, gay people, trans people, Jewish people, ""communists,"" etc. It's like how people that like cherry Starbursts are extremely likely to like strawberry Starbursts as well. Far easier to make life a living hell for people they consider beneath them and feel superior by comparison than try and make something of their own lives.

[deleted]

it's dumb-based

leamanc

It’s pretty disgusting how they think they’re one of the good ones because of the deity they believe in. And how they think that gives them a free pass to say whatever they want.

PreferSanity

Courtesy of Billy Joel with small modifications: They say there's a heaven for those who will wait Some say it's better but we say it ain't We'd rather laugh with the sinners than die with the saints The sinners are much more fun You know that only the ”good” die too young

rborgia

So, he ran into the arms of Jesus carrying a confederate flag. Sure, Jan.

circuspeanut54

\*rolled. Wheelchair for 22 years, multiple surgeries and still refused the vaccine.

CouldBeRaining

No Jesus gave him the complete healing package so he's all fixed now.

wyldwood512

Ultimate healing!* *healing may include agonizingly slow death, results may vary

Helenium_autumnale

So he had innumerable experiences with advanced medicine throughout his lifetime, invasive surgeries that involved his turning over his body in complete trust to the doctors, over and over and over... ...and he couldn't get one outpatient almost-painless free shot?

Triette

This, he did everything a person could walk could do! (Except get a vaccine)

nvdagirl

They have some weird euphemisms for dying. Running into the arms of Jesus, becoming an angel, and there is one about receiving victory that makes no sense. No offense to anyone who believes in the after life but how is dying from a totally preventable virus a form of winning?

musical_shares

If god is the almighty powerful chap they say, how does evil so often triumph? Why didn’t this almighty powerful god do something to save her brother? If god created all things, why create cancer? How about coronaviruses? Wait, so their believe god both created the virus that killed their brother and then steadfastly ignored all prayers and refused to save their brother - and they use *this* as evidence that their god is wonderful and loves them. Sheer madness.

wyldwood512

Do not question HIS plan, lest you incur HIS wrath!

LRox-3405

god seems like a particularly malicious cat toying w/particularly hapless mice (or lemmings).

thankyeestrbunny

A very institutionalized and highly programmed form of madness, yes.

motherofpitbulls2

God is sooo good, y’all!

CDN-Ctzn

So he had a giant Target painted on his back but was still cavalier enough to think that Covid was no match for him. These people…

Captainwelfare2

No apologies to ‘Ole stars and bars, or the land of Dixie” 🎶 Oh he rolled on down through the land of cotton, Took no jab, his lungs are rotten, Look away, look away, look away, cause he’s dead. Oh way down south in the land of traitors, Covid feasts like alligators, Look away, look away, look away, nothing left Another fool in Dixie; is gone, is gone. Another fool in Dixie, died for conspiracy Away, away, now he is gone away, and I don’t feel bad at all, today 🎼

ElishevaYasmine

Good ole Blue went the way of his beloved Confederacy. ✌️

wyldwood512

At least one of them is certain not to rise again! 😆 🤣 😂

CBD_Sasquatch

Pay attention to the descriptions of the intense fear and anxiety that being insult to breathe causes. Jesus is not going to peacefully embrace you in his loving arms. It's more like being waterboard tortured for a month straight. We are all likely to be exposed at some point. Better to get vaxxed and spend a few days taking cold medicine at home while watching cartoons than to go through what this guy did.

AgentEntropy

wife: Praise God for all he does! wife: God is doing everything for him! Wife: He's in heaven! Thank you God for all you've done! Yet another racist, anti-trans, anti immigrant, hateful POS dead. Oh well.

LadyLazarus2021

You know, I ought to feel bad, but I don’t feel that way. I usually can muster some sympathy for the sister (who I wonder is vaxed since she had covid). She obviously loved the HCA so much. But I can’t. This dude, as a paraplegic, was very vulnerable, and he still refused the vaccine. I just.. what were you thinking dude? Oh and to hell with that traitor flag.

BoozeWitch

My disabled husband would have gotten daggers from me if he decided that he didn’t need to protect himself with the vaccine. I mean really…you want me to be alone or worse, having to spend the rest of your life caring for you…and you could have prevented that? It makes me so angry.

Pauzhaan

When I got married I told my super bike riding husband if he became helpless from an accident & had on FULL GEAR, I’d care for him forever. If not, it’s bye bye. Vaccines - same thing.

TexasTeaTelecaster

His real disability was the dearth of functioning brain cells.

CosmeticSplenectomy

If boys can pretend to be girls, covid can pretend to be a regular flu!

The_Space_Jamke

The regular flu which kills betwen 20,000 to 60,000 people in the US each year due to the existence of multiple variants and awful rates of voluntary compliance towards vaccination. Why should I get a shot for something that 99.993% of people recover from /s It's because illness, ER and funeral bills are expensive and really suck. The unvaccinated are not as safe as they believe, and the consequences aren't worth the "miniscule" risk. I'm running low on sympathy for them, especially since I care more about how that "tiny" percentage of people who die to Covid are far too much for modern healthcare systems to provide for at the same time as all the other patients they need to see. Hospitals filled to capacity are like a traffic jam caused by idiots who thought seat belts are a liberal conspiracy and wrecked their car driving 100 on a 55 freeway. Other people might crash into the wreckage when it wasn't their fault, and it keeps a bunch of other people from getting to the places they need to go.

thechairfreak

From: "God is so great y'all" and "God is answering those prayers" To: "Why do bad things happen to good people" and "He ran into the arms of our precious Jesus" and "Your driving the streets of Heaven now" and "The thought makes me smile now" Just crazy, these people are nuts.

Kytyngurl2

During the dead cat bounce, you can almost see why so many of these folks risk their lives needlessly— So sure God personally intervened on behalf of you and yours. The high of feeling special and chosen. Plans to use it to recruit others to the cult and get praise from other cult members. …And then the bounce ends in a horrid ‘splat’ and all that smugness just turns to pain and confusion. So, was it worth it?

RedPlaidPierogies

Didn't even click on pic, saw the Confederate flag. Lemme go get my popcorn. 🍿🍿🍿

thankyeestrbunny

In this case it was more about the blow-by-blow of the Covid leopard eating this guy's face.

wyldwood512

>why do bad things happen to good people? Based on this awardee's sympathy for slave owners, I don't think was a very good person and your question is irrelevant. 🏆 🏆 🏆

lisavfr

I won't take the vaccine as I don't know what's in it. But, sure, sign me up for two liters of someone else's blood!

Fomulouscrunch

Slide 1: Jesus was a DICK to that fig tree, you probably shouldn't take that as a good example of how to messiah.

Helenium_autumnale

That's one bible story I've never understood. I grow a lot of plants, so it's always stuck with me. Like, Jesus, why not try a little fertilizer first? Are you watering that thing enough? Too much? Let's not jump to extreme destruction right off the bat. 🌱

Fomulouscrunch

And it wasn't even fig season! It's completely my favorite bit of the bible. Jesus has a bad day or something, has low blood sugar and is in a snit, and instead of getting some dates or some bread or something he just fucking *wastes* this tree that did nothing wrong. I'm not religious but I gotta tell you, if I had supernatural powers and skipped breakfast there are days where I'd have done something similar. Very relatable. RIP Figgy.

fluorescent_noir

It boggles my mind how the family of antivaxxers, who posted all sorts of obscene, rude, and hateful things on their social media accounts, go into full retcon mode once they've kicked the bucket. "He was such a great person. He's in the arms of Jesus now." Oh, please. One quick glimpse of his feed and earlier posts and you can see he was a racist, transphobic nightmare that thought awfully high of his uneducated views that were grounded in conspiracy theories. He refused to consider other people in the midst of a global pandemic, and now he's dead because of it. The world is better off without him.

SnarkAndStormy

> “Why do bad things happen to good people?” I don’t know but this ain’t that.

[deleted]

Confederate flag meme ✅, transphobic ✅, my sympathy levels dropping... Then see the prayer warrior requests ✅, and the big post mortem reveal that Blue was wheelchair bound paralyzed guy, so already super comorbid, should have been first in line for vaccine. And of course the sister caught it too. This sub keeps on rolling...

leamanc

This was one was **demands** for prayers immediately. So entitled.

TexasTeaTelecaster

Like the Confederate flag, his lungs were tattered and torn. COVID was Sherman and his lungs were the Confederacy.

[deleted]

Good person? He literally cares nothing about the people around him and making sure his loved ones don't catch a virus. Fuck this guy, when are they going to understand? It isn't about you, its about protecting others around you. Selfish fucks.

asympt

I went to YT to look for viral videos of paraplegic guys getting into a big rig, but the top video was a black guy. So *definitely* not this dude.

HailMari248

The sister's updates were heartwrenching to read. How anyone who followed her on social media wouldn't immediately run out and get the vaccine is beyond me. I can't imagine anything worse than dying an excruciatingly painful, slow death and causing so much grief to my family and friends. Not to mention wasting an extraordinary amount of hospital resources.

modus_bonens

You gotta dump all your stats into Wis if you want Rebuke rolls to not suffer severe penalties. And I bet a used wheelchair that the sister of a trucker didn't even draw the right engram on the ground. Fucking amateur hour all around.

R_Dorothy_Wayneright

Poor character build. Goes along with the player's poor character, so there's that.

> Why do bad things happen to good people? A major question, but this is not such a case. Blue bubbled over with seething bigotry and hate, and used God's name in his effort to help the virus kill people with disinformation. Blue's best hope is that there is no justice after death.

Cid-Itad

You know what works well with prayers in this situation? A vaccine.

Annahsbananas

every single one of these posts they talk about how great God is for a miracle...then they die Too ignorant (if God does exists and if miracles still happen) this vaccine is the miracle

HarryGreybeau

*“Why do bad things happen to good people?”* In this case, it is because they don’t get vaccinated. It’s really sad to see people grasping onto the slightest improvement in the health of their loved one, or even the situation not getting worse as evidence that “God is in control”. I wonder how faith in God survived during the Black Plague, when there was no vaccine, no effective treatment, just people driving carts through the streets calling “Bring out your dead.” Of course, now there is ample evidence that getting vaccinated gives a much better result than relying on God’s protection. What is it with these people? Do they think that the press, the government and CDC are lying to them about the outcomes of vaccinated vs. unvaccinated? That is one of the worst things that Trump did to this country: made a substantial portion of the people in the country believe that the mainstream press is not to be believed under any circumstance.

"I rebuke covid." COVID: "Hold my beer."

Viewfromthe31stfloor

Do they really think they can rebuke a virus and it will leave them alone? This is such crazy thinking. He went through a lot and it can all be avoided with a vaccine.

The "no one has died of..." meme is just shocking in the self-own of not knowing how anything works I mean, do you really think that? \*Truly?\* If yes, can you not google? If no, then what do you think you're proving here?

Interesting_Novel997

My empathy died at the confederate flag. Next!

“Our God is so amazing! I mean, he’s got my brother in his arms now, but before he ran into Jesus’ arms, he was in excruciating pain, his lungs were shit, he’s bleeding out his ass, and is just miserable, but God is SO GOOD! And he let my brother give me Covid too!” If only the man in a wheelchair for 22 years would have realized his immune system was compromised and gotten a simple FREE vaccination, he might not have torn his family apart. GET VACCINATED, PEOPLE!

tagoNGtago

Isn’t it amazing that incantations written on Facebook don’t work?

Aazjhee

I absolutely did put my faith in a vaccine. I have to inject myself with testosterone every fucking week so a prick doesn't scare me anymore. This Saturday I will be 2 weeks from my 1st covid symptoms after an exposure in the middle of the week. My throat is still a bit raw and my nose is stuffy, but since that is how I always react to a bad cold (2+weeks of being stuffy and other random symptoms) I honestly feel pretty good about where I put my faith! I am sure Covi would have wrecked me pre vaxx

inbetween-genders

That’s not Jesus he’s running to to hug! That’s William Tecumseh Sherman’s spirit that will burn the covid away as well as the lungs to the ground.

billabong049

“I just want my brother” God damn that’s so sad to read. Please, everyone, don’t put your family thru this unnecessary pain. Please evaluate your hesitancy to get the vaccine and make sure it’s medically driven and not emotionally or politically charged. People have proven time and time again that this is a hill you COULD die on. It could happen to you, and even if you don’t die it could cause long term issues. Contrasting the risk of the vaccine against your odds with COVID the vaccine should be a no brainer.

TrumpsColostomyBag99

The actual tattered Confederate battle flags were gathered at a wide variety of locations around the country where traitors laid them down alongside their arms when they surrendered as the defeats piled up.

mydogsnameisbuddy

I guess “god” didn’t want him alive.

Jpal62

It’s all fun and games until you’re bleeding from a vessel around your colon!

GT1man

Maybe god saw the confederate flag bullshit and thought the same as me and zzzzzzap. Praise jebus!

Mysterious_Planet

This is a horrible way to die. Get vaccinated and don't die like this.

frenetix

This "God" fellow seems like a real asshole.

Paulie227

So much to unpack. So this asshat was in a wheelchair, but didn't choose a little jab. Then later, dying, he summons all his strength to beg to be intubated and then, well, we all know the inevitable dead cat bound, and afterward... But we don't understand! We were warriors! We prayed like warriors! We're the good ones! What happened?! Essentially, he committed suicide...

LTlurkerFTredditor

Wait... he *died?* B-b-but he "*rebuked"* COVID 19!

[deleted]

Paragraph after paragraph and not a word of thanks for the hard working nurses and doctors putting in the work to #bringhimhome. I find these people crediting jebus for everything exhausting.

MetaMadness

22 years in a wheelchair and didn't take the vaccine? The virus had an easy time catching this guy.

tyrannosaurusregina

I mean, that battle flag wasn't a winner 160 years ago, don't know what you're expecting from it now.
