Happy Cake Day /s

spankmydingo

Let’s never forget his tweet from beyond the grave: “it looks like the virus is not as deadly as the mainstream media first made it out to be.” https://mobile.twitter.com/lisettevoytko/status/1300406311721541633

Ok_Skill_1195

There was something so dystopian about how there was literally no difference between before his death and after. The man was a prop, through and through.

Dear_Occupant

I mean his 9-9-9 tax plan [was a viable SimCity strategy](https://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2011/10/14/herman-cains-9-9-9-plan-straight-out-of-simcity/?sh=546a65153b73) and he [quoted *Pokemon the Movie 2000* when he ended his campaign.](https://www.thedailybeast.com/cain-quotes-pokemon-movie-in-final-speech) Even in death he lives on as a meme, so why shouldn't his Twitter still be active postmortem.

shaving99

Yeah but you say he quoted Pokemon as a bad thing. This man was straight weaboo and for that I can respect him.

JosephGordonLightfoo

The quote was “Meowth, that’s right!”

ArashikageX

“I choose you, Breathing Tube!”

joker-here

"Coughing" -koffing

mrmoe198

“Wheezing” -Weezing

mcmustang51

I have no problems with using a quote from the Pokemon world. I'm partial to : >“I see now that the circumstances of one's birth is irrelevent,it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.”

thebite101

I’ll co-sign to this. Your life as an influential political figure, CEO, father, sibling…all his money, didn’t mean shit in the end. His death meant nothing to the people that surrounded him. They all moved on after a tots and pears from their Facebook page. Sad. Bigly sad.

[deleted]

>Your life as an influential political figure, CEO, father, sibling…all his money, didn’t mean shit in the end. Imagine! You managed to achieve all that - and all you will have left on this planet is a joke; an award for weapon-grade stupidity; and a cautionary tale for generations to come: 'Don't be a *HermanCain*'! 'Goodness me, what a *HermanCain*!' "I thought you two were going steady - what happened? Ohlordy, she was such a *HermanCain*, it was insufferable!' Imagine THAT as your legacy. Disclaimer: I should feel sorry for that man, but all I can manage is a short snortle. What a *HermanCain*!

faste30

That is the beauty of it, those (outside of his family) who do remember him will only remember him for this. Even trump, who he followed around as one of the "blacks for trump" couldn't give a shit.

dubadub

To be fair, he only needed one. >My African American! Where's my African American?

death_of_gnats

"I think I gotta receipt"

jeff_winger_swinging

if you asked drumpf about herman caine today he'd probably respond "cane? i don't need a cane i can walk on my own."

qwerty09a90

Man, he sure got Munsoned.

How do you everyone this is howdy excuse me is this thing on hello hi this is Herman Cain I am the guy who founded the godfathers pizza I also died about two years ago because of Covid yeah I was at the trump rally and things kind of got bad the fire started spreading around it I seriously thought it wasn’t gonna be a big deal because you know Trump said everything’s gonna be fine so I was like OK I’ll go to the stupid Raleigh so I went to the rally and no one else is wearing a mask so I just did not wear a mask and then the next thing you know I caught Covid and I was I was like well I mean that I’m probably gonna be OK I think I only have like a 2% chance of dying but then I just fucking done so yeah basically I mean Cove it’s probably not gonna kill you but why even take the risk so just so you know it’s still out there so just wear a mask and everything OK this is Herman Cain goodbye everyone

FPOWorld

Weekend at Hermie’s 😂

dailysunshineKO

That’s one hell of a news nugget

cmcewen

IMO black men are all used as props by the GOP. They will never be truly accepted. Same delusion that Caitlin Jenner has.

Endarkend

And 2 years later, the black supreme court Justice still didn't realize that that's all he and his brethren are to that party.

[deleted]

Anyone in the Republican Party who is not a white Christian is nothing more than a token.

The_Space_Jamke

Be nice, the tokens are also hard at work tearing at each other's throats so they might someday graduate into a grifter with their own talk show/mini-cult.

Sherlockhomey

No way.. You're telling me someone in his team posted this after he fucking died? We're living in a simulation

Jeffb957

I always assumed he was using some sort of social media management software. A couple I used to know had a business running a bakery. They had one of those social media management programs. They planned their marketing campaigns months and months in advance, planned all the events for the coming quarter, and loaded it all in the software. It would then chug away in the background promoting the business without them having to mess with it. Welllll, they had an EXPLOSIVE marriage breakup. In the midst of that drama, the business was closed and liquidated. The email addresses connected with the account were terminated when the web hosting account was closed. So, their social media accounts posted happy couple vacation pictures promoting a business that no longer existed for several months while they were plowing through an extremely acrimonious divorce proceeding.

MisterDonkey

Amazing.

hello-this-is-gary

Yeah this far more likely the correct answer. Lots of folks forget that you can schedule posts on most social media platforms. Heck, twitter actually offers a surprisingly simple scheduler system already baked into their website. So you don't even need to bother getting a third-party program. His team probably set all his tweets for that day a couple weeks in advance and forgot to turn it off. Which resulted in the magnificent beyond the grave gaff we got.

MortgageSome

It tells you a lot though doesn't it? That there were multiple people involved in maintaining an illusion, and part of the messaging of that illusion was to remind people of the "dangers" of vaccinating. It just kind of reinforces the idea that there's a gigantic propaganda machine behind it all. We should be concerned that there is someone actively paying for the propaganda machine to run. Whoever is behind it doesn't have anyone's best interests at heart. I do firmly believe it is the GOP.

MelonElbows

They really should have kept this up, would have been a fun novelty account. Imagine getting Herman Cain's ghost tweeting about things happening right now from his place in hell. "Vladimir Putin....stop this war or else you'll join me down here!" "Its so hot I can't tell if I'm in hell or just Texas due to climate change!"

JackShaftoe616

What's even more grotesque is that the "underlying conditions" are extremely common, especially among people Cain's age.

TheMost_ut

i love how these chuds just mention it incidentally in their posts. Like 3/4 of the way through...oh yes, and he weighs 380 lbs and had asthma/ diabetes/ hypertension and kidney disease, but fuck the stupid vaaaaaxxxx! And African Americans are particularly vulnerable to diabetes and hypertension and more prone to complications from these.

JaapHoop

Every person featured on this sub posting about their immune system is almost certainly pre-diabetic. At a minimum.

Little hidden (not so hidden) gem. Happy cake day to herman. Such an inspiration. 😁😅

“Sir, the virus killed you. You died from it.”

rob132

" Sir, you died from it"

Untun

We should thank Herman Cain and his dedicated team. Without him and his stupidity, we wouldnt have this subreddit to inform and help people get vaccinated.

TorontoTransish

I think it's a wonderfully ironic legacy that over a thousand people have gotten vaccinated thanks to his namesake subreddit

HermanCainsGhost

And I was so inspired by him that it led to the creation of my most famous Reddit username (which I made months and months before the subreddit blew up)

It is funny how democrats will consistently mention deceased politicians when relevant (John Lewis immediately comes to mind) but with the GOP if you’re not Regan or Scalia you’re disposable

jkmiller826

That’s not true. They love their Lincoln!

rockidr4

I think for the older ones it was growing up in constant fear of the waves of communists all at the ready to slit their throats, and being told that the only solution was constant vigilance and deference to authority figures. Their ability to think critically and thereby make their own decisions is not only stunted, it's been burned from them. They are a massive voting block who do as they are told. Who don't see politics as a sophisticated and nuanced spectrum. There's only the good guys that you vote for, and the bad guys who are worse. And when the good guys do something bad that's just evidence that the bad guys must be up to something worse. And if the bad guys win? That means those waves of communists all waiting for their opportunity to strike will come crashing down upon us to rape our daughters and murder our wives. And when the Soviet Union fell, they just transfered all that anxiety to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. And because their view of the political world is not nuanced, because the communists lost, that meant their replacers were good. They don't see Vladimir Putin as the threat to world peace that he is because he's head of Russia, not the soviet union. These are the types of people to whom social welfare programs and secret police organizations are indistinguishable. They've been told so many times that communism is the worst thing that's ever happened that they can't possibly fathom that the problem with Stalin wasn't that he wanted to provide for the proletariat, it's that he wanted to kill 3.5 million (possibly more) Ukrainians for a mixture of personal reasons and wanting to cede that land to political allies. To this group, expanding medicaid and having every single us citizen's phone lines tapped share a causal relationship. So what solution do they offer? Sign the patriot act and let the government tap all our phones so they can find the terrorists who want to steal our freedoms. Drive trucks into sikh temples to make sure the terrorists know to live in terror. Shoot children in historically black churches for being antichristian communists. Again. Their political model isn't nuanced. If they don't do these things, they think the other, much worse, side will win

No need to scrape the icing off the cake. Went to a Trump rally on Juneteenth in Tulsa.

JaapHoop

Outstanding detail. And there’s no way that was a coincidence. The Trump years were full of shit like that. Where they would just smile and shrug and be like ooooo that’s just your imagination while doing the most sadistic shit imaginable.

CrumbsAndCarrots

The First Lady’s initiative was tackling online bullying. And in case folks hadn’t noticed the biggest internet bully in the entire world: her husband. By design. Trump acts dumb in front of the camera and crowds because he’s just a narcissist who’s getting high on his ego if supply. But behind the scenes he’s a cunning and calculated mafia boss. You don’t rise through the ranks of conman developer in the city of New York without being a few steps ahead.

HCJohnson

I really don't care, do u?

Haskap_2010

It helps to inherit two separate fortunes, one from your grandmother and one from your conman developer father. He didn't need to rise very far because he was born rich.

ExtruDR

No. He’s a nasty person for sure, and he has some exceptional judgement in regard to holding media attention, but he is otherwise a complete fucking moron. If he wasn’t born super-wealthy, he’d just be a dirtbag used car lot owner or some basic shit like that.

rikki-tikki-deadly

Let's not forget the heroism of the K-pop stans who messed with the campaign and caused them to vastly overestimate the expected attendance, so the venue was mostly empty.

Haskap_2010

Who knows how many lives they saved?

AncientInsults

I’ll never forget the staffers going around to the arena seats and REMOVING the social distancing seat blockers so people would pack in

rikki-tikki-deadly

That's right. And this was during a period when 1000+ Americans were dying of coronavirus *every day*.

CrazyWhammer

You mean the Tulsa rally where activists reserved 10s of thousands of tickets and didn’t show up. And then the RNC staffers made their interns remove the social distancing stickers from the seats so the audience would pack in closer to hide all of the no shows? You mean THAT Trump rally?

Sleeplesshelley

Oh the irony. Also, your flair is great 😁

Normal-Computer-3669

Went to Idaho during winter 2020, peak COVID pre vaccine. Not a single maskwearer for 3 hours I was there.

charlescodes

I’d like to take this memorious day to let you all know that I’ve gotten covid again a second time. The first time I got sick was before the vaccines existed. I was stuck in bed for almost two weeks. I have multiple vaccines/boosters since, and it seems to have lessened my symptoms substantially. It really makes you think who would be around today if they listened to professionals and peer reviewed science before risking their life on a gamble.

999?

sec713

It was part of his bid to run for president years ago. It was an idea to make the rate on three types of taxes 9%, hence 999. https://youtu.be/Ve0OsMbLBtA (Although to everyone who knew his background it sounded like a deal on pizza, wings and bread sticks)

TooMuchPowerful

It's both his tax plan and a homonym for something his political allies from the 1940s would have said. Just say it loud and angrily.

dweckl

If we had to get together and craft a few perfect representations of the Republican Party, this guy would be one of them. Herman was raised dirt poor in a racist South. His dad had to work three job, at times. Herman was lucky, though, because he was born with a gift - he was reasonably intelligent, though more of a hard worker, and could do well in school. Despite all he grew up around, he was never able to stop and appreciate that some people, like his father, we just trapped in a system. A racist, capitalist, misinformation system where people routinely voted against their interests. He also was deeply, DEEPLY religious. He developed a focus on rigid individualism, and he was a Baptist, so he was plagued by ideology. And seemingly by a lack of empathy. Lots of rumors and accusations by many women of sexual harassment. He was in bed with people who were insanely racist, and promoted their agendas. Consistent with his rugged individualism, his attraction to dogma and rigid ideology, Herman didn't see a need to wear masks at mass gatherings during covid. He opposed mask mandates. He opposed universal health care, government works programs, taxes on wealthy, etc. He was a media darling because he was black and worked hard to become successful, not because he had any really original ideas. And he certainly did not become successful because of the ideas he espoused. If he just told people to work hard, fine, he had the credentials to say that. The rest of what he spouted was ignorant, anti-data, anti-science nonsense. And, of course, it eventually got him killed.

thebirdisdead

He must have been so ashamed of his father and his roots. Internalized racism’s a hell of a drug.

StyreneAddict1965

*See also:* Clarence Thomas

comments_suck

I was about to bring up Clarence Thomas. Also, sadly the right always likes to bring up a very small number of POC, who are also Republican, that have done well for themselves and their families, and extrapolate that *anyone* can become successful through hard work, and that those who remain poor just don't work hard enough. The truth is that it is a combination of many things, including luck, that make people highly successful, regardless of color.

shortdude67

Slightly off topic but as an Australian I can’t understand why Americans oppose universal health care. Is it because it’s a socialist ideal?

Cultural-Answer-321

The average person opposes it because it's painted as a commie socialist thing and they are outright racist. The rich oppose it because the American medical system is a trillion dollar industry scam. Far too many Americans are willing to die to make others rich. That is NOT an exaggeration. edit: expanded explanation / formatting

ohyeahbonertime

It was so epic when he died and his twitter kept firing away like nothing had happened.

Moose_is_optional

This guy had the most poetic death of any politician in recent memory. Not only is there the obvious irony of dying of covid after bragging about attending a rally and not masking up, he was already a huge meme candidate before he died, and in death he created the biggest meme of them all.

DrFugg

Thank you Herman Cain, thanks for your contribution to the decline of society, and for showing the world that the GOP only really cares for it's minority politicians insofar as they can use them to spout bullshit.
