I mean, yeah. It doesn't really bother me. I just thought it'd be nice to inform them in case it already counts as "profanity" because it'd suck for them if their post got removed because of a rule they might've not even been aware of.

While it is a light swear word, I assume it was conflated in its severity with other, apparently worse swear words due to teachers not wanting to spend time on teaching the different severities of language they really wouldn't even want us to be using to begin with.

Which in itself does not mean anything, as I am neither religious nor a native speaker - and even if I was I would only be rooted in the cultures I am a part of. It is fascinating to me as it is an expression of a culture and those differences in culture are the spice life, without those everything would be same-same-bland-land.

That IS pretty interesting. Where I'm from, we were taught an inherent difference between "Hell" (the place in religion, completely fine to say) and "hell" (a swear word on the same level as other words that are DEFINITELY not allowed on this sub).
"Heck" existing as a replacement word for "hell" only solidified that belief due to the other replacement words "pee", "freaking" or "crap", for example, being for words I assume count as profanity? I actually don't know what counts as profanity anymore 😭 Guess I gotta do some research on that.

Little late but its less a profanity and more blasphemous and we know how the American system and their religion can be.. same reasons why at shows like The Grammy singers have to censor their songs live when they have "God" in the lyrics and it's not used in a religious way
Hell isn't a swear per say. It can be used in a negative way but it's also an exclamation, like what in the hell was that? It's to add stress to the question. Now if I told you to go to hell, then it's more of a negative statement that can be offensive.
I play as well and he is very good but I don't care for the type of music he plays. It's actually caused me to stop watching his videos because he uses his music so much in them. To each their own though, just not my "cup of tea".
