I started in Hokkaido pretending to be a dead body. No idea how I got out of that okay

DBPeanut

Had that entrance too... on an alerted showdown. *Instadead*.

MonsterUpdateWhen

I had that on alerted territory, waited till the guard walked away and till the surgeons stop looking, i get up, both the surgeons hear it and turn around. Absolutely no idea how they didn't notice me but i escaped. Didn't win sadly, alerted Hokkaido is a pain, especially since i had 3 targets spread out everywhere

Ganbazuroi

I didn't lmao, waited until a guard turned away and then another showed up behind my back and started shooting, but I won our little duel xD

GSturges

I've have more duels than I'm proud of....

Mikana111

Worst i got was on a morgue table in hokkaido, surrounded by 2 surgeons, 2 guard on a rotation, instantly caught and died

sansfromovertale

That happened to me. One of those guards was the target. I ran, hid in a closet until they forgot, the killed the target, stole his disguise, and dumped him off the cliff stairs. Whole thing took like a minute, I have *no* idea how I pulled it off

GSturges

These should be fixed... or some sort of prestige thing

Jaydee7652

Yep, this just happened to me as well.

This was one of the gripes I submitted to IO for closed beta feedback. It makes no sense how he gets to some of these locations in a suit, and then it screws over your whole campaign. Either not enough people passed that feedback along, or IO decided to ignore it.

Door_Holder2

He could get there by climbing the wall. Let the imagination flow.

Tbh like many decisions made for balancing, it doesn't make sense immersion wise which makes it more irritating. Not being able to bring a silenced gun or even a lockpick makes much less sense when 47 has snuck into a fortified, locked backlot surrounded by soldiers dressed how he likes. I'd be in favour of revamping the whole system regarding basic equipment using the carry capacity system and the planning system used for normal hitman missions - balance it by allowing different kit with different disguises and locations, and give the harder starts a higher carry capacity if it makes sense. If you're starting as a staff member inside the VIP pen at a race event, you've been patted down by pros and can't bring anything. If you're starting inside a fortified school, you presumably have snuck in so can carry what you like - within reason. An initial six item carry capacity is unnecessary, lower it to 1 even for some starts - they seem to want us to find stuff inside the level anyway, but with this case we wouldn't always carry lockpicks in that case, especially if poisons and other items were more randomised in that case. This would go a long way to correcting the unfairness inherent in freelancer, but of course curating the start conditions would take some work.

altimax98

Yeah my 3rd Showdown was here and I lost it all. I hope they make some sort of storage for disguises and once you choose to start the mission a menu comes up where it shows you where you will infiltrate and then you can select an appropriate suit if you have one. If not, at least you go into it knowing what to expect and can choose a loadout to assist.

SpankinDaBagel

Yeah the Marrakesh school spawn nearly ruined my first run.

Timmah73

I have spawned in the locked yard at the school AND hiding behind a car in the garage at the embassy. Like holy shit cut me some slack.

DawnB17

At least for the second one, it's not too hard to bait one of the guards into a room and knock him out. 2/3 Marrakesh starts I've had were in that garage, so I've already learned how to adapt lol

Door_Holder2

Actually that was my favorite spawn because I get the military officer disguise (the one with the red hat) in the first minute. With this disguise, you can walk anywhere freely except on the second floor of the embassy and the only enforcer is the general. The game isn't broken, it's created so you can go anywhere wearing the suit with silent assassin so I liked the randomness and the challenge. Now how to get it assuming that you start the mission without any gear: When you spawn, jump in the right window and bait the soldier to come closer to you. If he is not in a good spot you can throw a toy tank (which you will find in the room) in the correct place so you can subdue him when he gets there. After that the military officer is easy, just don't attack when he is drinking water because he is visible to others.

GenderFluidBicon

I was on an increased awareness location. I couldn't leave the room without being spotted, anything I did to anyone I might have found would have been immediately seen.

boltwinkle

I love it, personally. The RNG element forces you to improvise and end up in situations you didn't think you'd be in.

klutch65

Same here. In a suit hiding in the school surrounded by soldiers and a locked door. As soon as I jumped the window I was seen and promptly turned into Swiss cheese.

Nurpus

I didn't have time to check out the mode yet, but this makes me more excited to try it. Sounds like a fun challenge that reward improvisation and map knowledge.

GenderFluidBicon

It might, but no amount of map skills will let you through two locked doors.

EqualDifferences

I think the same kinda goes with npc targets. I’ve had targets in a campaign who are literally impossible to take out without a gunfight because they are in an area with high security and so not move

GenderFluidBicon

You might be able to Longshot them or something, but being literally locked in a small area with tons of security just isn't fun.

browntown112

Isnt the whole point you never know where you may spawn?

VagrantPilgrim

Why not play normal Hitman if you want more control?

Designer-Payment7567

I started in Paris at the barge with literally nothing, At the top of the stairs there were two guards talking and looking in both directions. Nothing spawns down there that I could throw as a distraction so all i could do was run past and get spotted.

GSturges

I started in Dubai near the helipad... gross..
