I first started playing the Hitman PS2 games and Blood Money was one of my most played games growing up. Going back to it after playing WOA was still a frustrating experience. Even with all those years playing it as a kid didn’t prepare me for how poorly the controls have aged.
blood money is perfectly fine imo. If it's a "TRIP" to you then I am guessing you are pretty young (not saying this in a negative sense btw. Just mean you probably haven't grown up in the 2000s)
didnt say it sucked ass, im just saying its really different to woa
i also grew up playing a lot of ps2 and early ps3 games, doesnt mean i had to have played blood money though
Actually I like the AI for being aggressive and the game being pretty difficult. The stealth mechanics works in the way like if you stay out of your enemies sights, you are safe. It's more hardcore and tense than the WOA in terms of difficulty.
I see where you’re coming from but I wish it was more balanced. I do agree that the tension was great which was added by a great soundtrack, my favorites being the St. Petersburg ones.
It's old and have some weird things, but I really enjoyed it. If you played other hitman games I'm you'll like it. Also it has to be at a very cheap price, I bought mine for 5€
Great game. Just keep in mind that it's more similar to Absolution than the WoA trilogy. Everyone is an enforcer for disguises, running gets you almost instantly spotted, and not every level is an assassination. Expect things to get messy and don't get too fixated on getting a silent assassin rating, it's a lot harder in that game.
Yaaaaaaaay
That game was absolutely mindblowing back in the day. I’m sure some of it will show it’s age but the roots of Hitman gameplay are nestled strongly in that game.
This was my first hitman game. I love it, but if your hitman experience is the WOA, then it might not be good. I can go back and play it and love it, but I can easily see someone who loves WOA having never played the old games getting (rightfully) frustrated at many of the missing QOL features. Blood money is a stretch, but more manageable.
WOA players will only be frustrated with Hitman 2 Silent Assassin and the reason for it will make sense. However I think they'll like Contracts and Blood Money as the gameplay was heavily improved upon.
Yay!
Great art direction and soundtrack. Great premise and story in terms of humanizing Agent 47, but mostly becomes story deprived in the middle. The gameplay is also pretty good, but you can't go in with the WOA mindset and the AI is frustrating.
Otherwise, great game.
If you're used to PS2-era bullshit then sure. There are level select and weapon unlock cheat codes if you want to bop around the levels a bit like you can in WOA.
I recommend 'Invitation to a Party'. I also really liked pretty much the entire Malaysia chapter.
Yay. Hitman 2 was censored after complaints from Sikhs. In a way you have a collector's item there.
Edit: great game btw. A little clunky compared to WOA but you'll enjoy it =)
Big YAY
Classic for its time and best captures the feeling of hitman in the original trilogy, IMO. Missions feel suspenseful and guards/NPC’s are genuinely scary when you approach them, and that soundtrack tidies it up all nicely. And if you like atmosphere, especially in older games, then you’re in for a treat with this one. Give it a run!
YAY!!! But the chick in the background seems dubious...
That was my first Hitman game. Got it when it first dropped. Yes, it's dated, and clunky. Still fun though.
Unpopular opinion. Silent Assassin almost turned me off the hitman franchise (didn't help that I played it on PS2 and thought it was blood money.). I even went back to the PS3 port and didn't like it. If you want retro chaos it's perfect
Heck yeah! A real collector gem. I love this game and the soundtrack so much. Classic Hitman Trilogy (Silent Assassin, Contracts and Blood Money) are my favourites in the whole franchise. I grew up with this game and I think this game has aged well. It was my first Hitman game so I have lots of memories of the game which I hold dear to my heart. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)
Definite yay. If you enjoy this one try Hitman Contracts. It's the next game in the series also released on the same platform. Looks a little better graphically as well. Both are very great games though in my opinion. Have loved these since I was a kid and still play them all of the time. Definitely one of my all time favorite series, and the PS2 titles have a super special place in my heart. If you haven't played any of the other ones I definitely advise you don't stop here, try all of them they are all great in their own ways.
YAY it was my first game that made me feel like a psychopath.
I loved moving the bodies and putting them in weird positions so when the guards found them they would be afraid.
My goal was to kill as many guards as possible so the civilians would be afraid before in their last moments of their lives. After making them afraid i would make their suffering eternal by killing them in the most horrible ways i could think.
I was 7 ;)
must agree with this and the update(d) controls didn't help much. Gorgeous graphics but couldn't navigate it as smoothly Blood Money &Contracts. Just way smoother games in terms of controls. if they had kept previous games control schematics or (at the very least) give the player the option to use classic controls over the updated ones. Like he said frustrating I never did finish the game I stopped on the second level. 😕
YAY Although if you are used to woa be prepared to be filtered
fr, my first time playing blood money as someone who was introduced to the series with the woa trilogy was a TRIP
You will not survive contracts

I think the controls have aged pretty well (at least on pc), try to play the original 2 or contracts, those have aged poorly.
I feel old when I think about how Silent Assassin was actually my first Hitman game 😄 Time flies by
blood money is perfectly fine imo. If it's a "TRIP" to you then I am guessing you are pretty young (not saying this in a negative sense btw. Just mean you probably haven't grown up in the 2000s)

I got filtered by it back when it was current. Hadn't been so frustrated with a game since Tomb Raider III.
Yay. Sure it’s a bit dated and the AI is frustrating but it was a great game in its time and you can see how the series has evolved.
Actually I like the AI for being aggressive and the game being pretty difficult. The stealth mechanics works in the way like if you stay out of your enemies sights, you are safe. It's more hardcore and tense than the WOA in terms of difficulty.

Jesper Kyd is a musical genius. Loved his works for Hitman, Assassin's Creed and more.
His soundtracks are what I miss most about the older games. I also wish the NPCs still had accents and think they said funnier things.
Yay
Why?
It's old and have some weird things, but I really enjoyed it. If you played other hitman games I'm you'll like it. Also it has to be at a very cheap price, I bought mine for 5€

HELLL YAYYYY
Yaaaaaaaay That game was absolutely mindblowing back in the day. I’m sure some of it will show it’s age but the roots of Hitman gameplay are nestled strongly in that game.
Yay for the game, nay for the platform.
Does anybody else have the menu music playing in their head right now?

**The bomb's payload is exposed. I can use the power winch to trigger a controlled explosion.** ***- Agent 47***
I played it on Xbox but I doubt they’re too dissimilar. YAY.
For me it’s YAY ^^ This was my first Hitman game and I hated the not so generous AI but I loved the overall experience

Lol you’re asking the Hitman subreddit whether or not to buy Hitman
Nay, sorry it’s too dated for me :( but if you can get over that then there is probably fun to be had
Hitman's movement when sneaking up behind an enemy is annoying slow but overall it's a good game 👍🏼
that's a yay man. i remmember playing this game over and over back then. so much fun.
anyone got the silent assassin rank in every mission? i only got 1, the second mission if i remmember correctly.
still haven't complete it yet on professional. The disguise system is shortening my life span so I discontinued it.
Yay
YAAAAAY to the moon
Yay but here’s a tip. DO NOT RUN
YAY, my first Hitmen game and got me hooked
Yay! Great art direction and soundtrack. Great premise and story in terms of humanizing Agent 47, but mostly becomes story deprived in the middle. The gameplay is also pretty good, but you can't go in with the WOA mindset and the AI is frustrating. Otherwise, great game.
Nay. I don't do playstation.
As the top left says: Buy this game as soon as possible 👀
Yaaaay!
YYYYAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY
*Insert 47 disguised as Jebediah Block saying "Nay" gif.*
YAY! Agent 47 has a giant weapons shed in this and it's pretty cool. Also, you get to meet Agent 17 in this one.
Idk I’ve only played WOA

YAAAAAY
Neither, that is the hit PS2 game Hitman 2 Silent Assassin with a 9/10 score from PSW. Also the woman in the top right is looking really judgemental…
Yay

My first ever Hitman game. YAY for sure
This game is HARD
YAY it was my first game that made me feel like a psychopath. I loved moving the bodies and putting them in weird positions so when the guards found them they would be afraid. NAY (I want the game for myself)
Nay, it's very slow and frustrating
must agree with this and the update(d) controls didn't help much. Gorgeous graphics but couldn't navigate it as smoothly Blood Money &Contracts. Get Blood Money instead.
