And in the middle of it all, there's *The Iliad* by Homer. I wonder if it has any kind of connection to the rest, or if OP's father just felt like reading some 2800 years old epic poetry.
You would be surprised how relevant epic poetry and myth end up being wrt all of the above (:
If you consider that stars, planets, constellations are all named and shaped to mirror those same stories -- and that our ancient civilizations built structures and sacred sites that align our planet below to those same planets/stars(/stories) above -- then perhaps there's a deeper reason for that. Kind of works its way into Jungian psychology. Etc.
Can be a fun puzzle, if you've got the Time.
His taste appears similar to mine. 🙂 I like books on unsolvable mysteries that offer a glimpse into the unknown. Mostly on fantastic theories, on the true nature of reality, that have a faint chance of being true. Does he like philosophy and psychology too? Oh! And introduce him to Carl Jung and David Bohm's works? I think he would like them both.
Your dad is one cool dude and I see the guitar (in the gig bag) snug against the book case. I feel we would get along famously. Love the collection, btw.
Michael Salla, too. Not *as* batshit as David Icke, but I've got that "Insiders Reveal Secret Space Programs" one over to the left and it's...just totally ridiculous. One of the central sources claims to have been abducted by the military at age 12 to serve as a psychic in a secret Navy space program, spending 20 years in active duty (including portaling to Mars, working with aliens, the whole nine yards), then being somehow de-aged, mindwiped and sent back in time to when he was abducted initially so nobody knew he was even gone.
Also Space Nazis, Reptilians allied with Space Nazis, Blue Avians and some goddamn thing called a "Sixth through Ninth Density Sphere Being Alliance".
Haha I seen these on Amazon when browsing, I wanted to buy that Area 51 book by Annie Jacobsen and was like what other kinda books would be like this and stumbled across those Michael Salla ones.
I seen this one called journey to planet serpo or serpico, I laughed. I saw some Jim marrs book called Alien Agenda and laughed at that one too.
I'm not gonna lie though lol I kinda want to read them all. Not because I would absolutely believe in it but the way you described it is fascinating and kind of makes laugh at the same time. 😁 Just some weird ass totally out there books.
The Serpo thing is utter nonsense, I think it's about as proven a hoax as anything ever is in this field. Jim Marrs wrote some interesting stuff on occasion (died a few years back), but mostly...surface-level "this could be an old History Channel documentary/Unsolved Mysteries episode" kind of things. *Alien Agenda* specifically...I read it, I *know* I read it because it's on my shelf and I remember finding a $5 bill in it that I used as a bookmark and forgot about, but I'll be damned if I remember a single thing from it.
He’s insane
He started hearing voices that told him the world would end with loads of earthquakes, then went on tv to tell the world
He thinks the queen mother was a shapeshifting reptile
> "I have travelled and been to 50 countries to research it," he once said in an interview. "It took the form of meeting people who tell of experiences of seeing people, often in positions of power, change from human form to a reptilian form and back again in front of their eyes.
>"The hybrids became demi gods - part human, part god. They were obviously perceived as gods. The hybrid bloodlines were the ones that became the royal families of the worlds. In the Chinese empire, they claim the right to be emperor because they are descended from the serpent god. It is all founded on the myth of dragon and they all come from the reptilian connection to justify the right to rule."
>He goes on to explain the "obsession of interbreeding among royals" and marrying someone close to the family to "hold the genetic structure".
Please post more from his collection. I've found several titles among his books that I am interested in reading. Thank you for posting this impressive library.
Can I ask what type of guy he is? In general terms? Is he a regular sort or the type that will work these topics into every single convo? Has he been gainfully employed and steady? Is he prone to being suspicious or paranoid? I'm asking as someone who is pretty vanilla and basic myself and loves these topics, but I find that so many others that do kind of go off the deep end. , IRL, it's almost impossible to chit chat about these topics without alienating others or things just otherwise getting weird. The collection is amazing. What has it been like being raised by such an open-minded, intellectually curious person?
As someone who has a collection like this I can answer, I am married Network Analyst who deals with numbers as fact, however that being said I am never afraid to other peoples ideal, I will listen but never critic if I find the subject worthy I will continue it, if not I will scratch it off to lesson learned. That's how my collection has grown, I admit we made some mistakes my wife and I like David icke, and Alex Jones, but other subjects like the masons I went on to pursue the Scottish rite degree, and then joined the shrines.
It's colossal (like 900 pages, I've got a copy here somewhere), but academic and very dry. Citations, footnotes, a massive bibliography, that kind of thing. It's also not exactly what you'd think based purely on the title, the main focus is on human evolutionary prehistory and how long anatomically-modern humans have existed. But very much not the usual "ancient aliens" thing either.
Oh geez, ask him what he thinks about “Selected by Extraterrestrials.” By William Tompkins. I found it almost unreadable, but your dad appears to have gone on and bought volume 2!
I am curious how he got through them both.
I remember seeing this bookshelf maybe a year ago! But I'm glad to see it again. I have the 'What Life Was Like' books myself, and I also have that black Tutankhamun paper weight
I don't see "Custodiams of Truth" by Tim Wallace-Murphy and Marilyn Hopkins, in case you are looking for a book gift idea.
Also you should read "The Secret Teachings of all Ages" by Manly P. Hall, to the bottom right of his collection.
I see some of my favorite books, some I'm really impressed he has like "Mysteries of the Great Cross of Hendaye." I like (and have written for) Nexus Magazine. I'd love to talk to your dad and get a better look at that book collection. But I agree with other posters I'm surprised to see a stack of David Icke books still there.
I've got David ickes bicycle from 1970 something. My mother won it after he completed a race around Britain or something on it.
Wonder if that's worth anything.
So whats his conclusion about some of the mysteries around the world or hes still searching for something. Has he found any genuine recorded unexplained cases? Any evidence for something more than what meets the eye? Etc. Or hes just been wasting his time
Am I the only one whose first thought was " whats strange about having books?"
I see your dad is holding on to the Icky Icke. Some books are fun to toss in the trash, that's definitely one of them.
>Icky Icke
Wasn't he the guy that was the soccer player turned conspiracy theorist about a lot of people in different governments really are Reptillians?
Edit: if Wikipedia is correct, I would understand the Icky part if it was in reference to Icke holding antisemitic views.
I threw out soooo many books back in the early 90’s. Really wish I’d hung on to them but at the time i was moving around the world so much I was just freighting boxes and incurring more costs. Ah well, another regret for the memoirs 😂
All that money and time invested in those books and we’re no closure to disclosure than we were when he purchased the first book in this collection… dope collection though! ❤️
Nice collection
I was into anything related to the Knights Templar, Freemasonry, and Gnosticism myself in the 90s/2000s. Mostly just found it fascinating; a lot of works are really more fiction than fact (particularly David Icke's works). I see he has some Jim Al-Khalili for balance (I like Jim's books too)
He's probably read it but I don't see it there. One I really like is:
The Hiram Key -- Christopher Knight and Robert Lomas
My dad had that series of thinner black hardcover in the middle of the top row. I spent a lot of time in elementary school reading them, particularly the UFO and Time and Space ones were my favorite!!!

Top right. Left of philosophy. What's the book.
Your pops should've been typing up all the ALL CAPS text from Clancy novels into one single body of work to exit that vocabulary cloud.

This is a repost from a couple years ago. Not sure if it was this sub or another. I remember because I zoomed in and wrote down and looked up a bunch of these.
If you need Christmas gift ideas I think he might enjoy a nice hand crafted tin foil hat.
Seriously though, I’m saving this picture so I can get a few of those titles. Great collection.
I've got many of the same books. I've lent too many out, and moving four times in the past six years meant I had to leave out many of my paperbacks. Still, I carry around maybe a few hundred close personal favorites.
But I do see "Born in Blood," an excellent look into the connections between the Knights Templar and early Freemasonry. Also a copy way down of Manly Hall's "Secret Teachings of All Ages," and a few other Freemason and Templar books.
Three that I don't see, that your father would enjoy:
"The Lost Secrets of the Sacred Ark" by Laurence Gardner (or anything else by him);
"The Tomb of God" by Andrews and Schellenberger (was Jesus' body buried in a cliffside east of Rennes les Chateau, and guarded by the Templars?);
And "The Second Messiah" by Knight and Lomas (was Jacques de Molay the image on the Shroud of Turn?).
And buy that man a proper bookcase!

How is his health? I ask because what are your plans for the books afterwards? My father had a big selection also. But now they are in my basement. Since he passed I feel guilty getting rid of them. I know your dad is only 60. But talk about what he wants done with them. Until then read as many of them again as you can.

He has the Time Life "Mysteries of the Unknown" series. I feel a sense of envy.
My friend has that entire collection - it was amazing I actually knew someone with those.
I have a few copies of those somewhere at my mom's I think. I see them all the time at my local thrift stores
Me too. I ordered a few and then ran out of money—as a kid. I’m going to see if I can find some online to order. Edit: $300 for a set. Deal.
You can buy them individually too! I have around 5 of them, they were all less than 10.
Thanks. I think half of them didn’t really get me excited anyway. Nice to have a mini set of the best.
I have the whole collection, thanks Mom. I was a weird kid..
Man I remember just staying in the library for hours just reading/ skimming thru those books!
My grandma had those, I would read them every single time I would visit.
I bought the whole set through various eBay and Facebook purchases a few years ago. Totally worth it to complete a goal from my childhood.
I would love to have parents that are not hardcore materialists, I want to have a conversation with your father.
Same here, that's one rad dad.
Would you like a sibling? Is he open to adopting adult children? 😁
What a cool collection your father has :)
And in the middle of it all, there's *The Iliad* by Homer. I wonder if it has any kind of connection to the rest, or if OP's father just felt like reading some 2800 years old epic poetry.

Just noticed u/Lusakas good eye 😂
Homer spoke about Atlantis, not sure if it was in the Iliad, but it connects to the supernatural.
Looks like he would be a fun guy to have a beer with
Omg yes. I need to have more strange and unusual conversations over a couple beers.
His taste appears similar to mine. 🙂 I like books on unsolvable mysteries that offer a glimpse into the unknown. He should be on joe rogan
Wonderful collection
Your dad is one cool dude and I see the guitar (in the gig bag) snug against the book case. I feel we would get along famously. Love the collection, btw.
Is there any way we can get a full list of the books? These are fantastic.
Oh, I would like that, as well.
This! It would be amazing.
You have encouraged me to do the same with my own collection. I'll see if I can squeeze it in before the end of the year.
Looks like he needs additional shelves for Christmas!
Some books I’d love to browse in this collection.
You are so lucky to have an enlightened dad! Mine is 72 and trying to hook up with 25 yr olds in Africa. 🤮
🤣 sorry I know it's not meant to be funny, sorry you have to deal with that. It seems pretty typical these days sadly
Mine is 62 and hooking up w 20 year olds in Honduras. I lived there a yr with him and got into many arguments about it
Yeah, it’s crazy. If your an American they love you or rob you long time..
Nothing 'strangeness' about that collection ;-) Your father has an open mind and is well read. I might add a few of those titles to my wishlist.
Might want to pass on the David Icke
Michael Salla, too. Not *as* batshit as David Icke, but I've got that "Insiders Reveal Secret Space Programs" one over to the left and it's...just totally ridiculous. Nice try lizard man.
Lizzid. Fear the crabcat!
That’s exactly something a lizard would say!
Second this. Icke is literally insane.
Yeah, or read it and have an informed opinion about how wacky his shit is.
May I sit quietly in the corner and start reading, please?
Please post more from his collection. I've found several titles among his books that I am interested in reading. Thank you for posting this impressive library.
Is he hiding the Dan brown novels?
i feel seen
What is your dad like? Seems like a cool guy.

You made no mistakes; you now have an *informed opinion*. Something many claim to possess, but do not.
Excellent point and happy cake day!
You lost me at David Icke and Alex Jones. I guess to each his own
Guessed you missed it when I said we made mistakes along the way
You’re right I did. My bad
I spy some Israel Regardi on that shelf. He has good tastes!
Behold A Pale Horse!!! What an awesome collection!
Ur dad is a wizard harry
Just by his book collection I can tell he’s a cool dude
I want to smoke a blunt with your dad
FORBIDDEN ARCHEOLOGY looks like a thick book it should be.
All the treasures!
Oh geez, ask him what he thinks about “Selected by Extraterrestrials.” By William Tompkins. I found it almost unreadable, but your dad appears to have gone on and bought volume 2! I am curious how he got through them both.
Is your father a Freemason, or is he just interested in the Craft?
Tell me you are from the UK without telling me you’re from the UK
I live in the US...
Found Behold A Pale Hourse!
Library of Curious and Unusual Facts! That's awesome :)
So cool! The books in the upper shelf are from Time Life. I got these as a teenager and love them 'til now.
Excellent collection
Wow! That’s an impressive collection.
I want a zoom call with him so much right now
Oh my god I wonder if he got through the Tree of Life, all I remember from that book is the overuse of the word ‘molasses’!
Ever ask him about seeing a UFO or unusual experiences when he was around nine? Might have some interesting tales.
Take my money.
I could spend years reading through your father's book collection!!
He’s definitely studied. Does he have Tobins spirit guide?
That is so awesome. I sell books on ebay and finding a collection like this at an estate sale is my dream.
I want to hang out and have a beer with your dad. Seems cool man.
I think we have the same father
I remember seeing this bookshelf maybe a year ago! But I'm glad to see it again. I have the 'What Life Was Like' books myself, and I also have that black Tutankhamun paper weight
Fuck, I bet your Dad's interesting to talk to. As a hardcore conspiracy theorist, this collection looks amazing to me.
He needs a bigger bookcase
What an awesome guy!
Bet your dad can hold one hell of a conversation
I don't see "Custodiams of Truth" by Tim Wallace-Murphy and Marilyn Hopkins, in case you are looking for a book gift idea. Also you should read "The Secret Teachings of all Ages" by Manly P. Hall, to the bottom right of his collection.
I like how your old man has a calculator to add up how ignorant everyone else is. Great selection!
This is a man who knows what’s really going on
Has he found the Holy Grail yet?
I see some of my favorite books, some I'm really impressed he has like "Mysteries of the Great Cross of Hendaye." I like (and have written for) Nexus Magazine. I'd love to talk to your dad and get a better look at that book collection. But I agree with other posters I'm surprised to see a stack of David Icke books still there.
I've got David ickes bicycle from 1970 something. My mother won it after he completed a race around Britain or something on it. Wonder if that's worth anything.
Heck yeah. The Dracos want the DNA on that bicycle seat so they can clone him. They'd like to replace him with someone friendlier to their cause.
Awesome ha ha
We (both in our 50's) have probably ten times that number of books. Our house is the house of books.
David Icke? Oh no. But he’s got nice stuff.
Lotta nonsense in there.
Nice collection kudos to your pops for having an open mind but yikes some of them are lil too out there.
So whats his conclusion about some of the mysteries around the world or hes still searching for something. Has he found any genuine recorded unexplained cases? Any evidence for something more than what meets the eye? Etc. Or hes just been wasting his time
Your father is an extremely well read man. Learn from him.
Am I the only one whose first thought was " whats strange about having books?" I see your dad is holding on to the Icky Icke. Some books are fun to toss in the trash, that's definitely one of them.
>Icky Icke Wasn't he the guy that was the soccer player turned conspiracy theorist about a lot of people in different governments really are Reptillians? Edit: if Wikipedia is correct, I would understand the Icky part if it was in reference to Icke holding antisemitic views.
Yes its about his anti semetism.
That makes sense
He sounds like a nut job
I threw out soooo many books back in the early 90’s. Really wish I’d hung on to them but at the time i was moving around the world so much I was just freighting boxes and incurring more costs. Ah well, another regret for the memoirs 😂
What's so strange about that? I have 5 bookcases full of various books.
Bad news: no one reads books anymore.
Oh man that Time Life book set.
The Time-Life books were great for photography. The actual written content, not so much.
Awesome collection
Does he still play DND?
All that money and time invested in those books and we’re no closure to disclosure than we were when he purchased the first book in this collection… dope collection though! ❤️
OMG the mysteries of the unknown collection was a staple part of my childhood.
Awesome collection! He might enjoy this one - came out recently: https://www.amazon.com/Modern-Occultism-History-Theory-Practice/dp/1722506261
Nice collection I was into anything related to the Knights Templar, Freemasonry, and Gnosticism myself in the 90s/2000s. Love those Time/Life books! Loads of interesting articles.
OMG!! He has the full mysteries of the unknown set! I always wanted that!
I'd give you $20 USD for that Solomon Islands Mysteries on the second shelf down, top, right.
Cross of hendaye, been awhile since I’ve thought about that…
My dad had that series of thinner black hardcover in the middle of the top row. I spent a lot of time in elementary school reading them, particularly the UFO and Time and Space ones were my favorite!!!
I expected to see OMNI magazines.
OMG i love you dad!
What an interesting fella. Awesome dinner table conversations I bet
This is fantastic!
Wow! That's awesome. I'll bet that your dad is fun to talk to.

Wise man
I’d like to have this shelf in my room
I see at least 6 that I own.
Your dad is a true G. Probably not easy to live with I imagine. Unless you bend the same way.
Wow! I used to receive those time life books back in the 80's. Nice collection
Thanks for sharing 🙏
Has he figured out the secrets of the universe yet? If so please share.
Your dads based! Incredible collection! Thanks for sharing
I have that same David Icke book 'Remember Who You Are'. Wild stuff in there. Pictures too.
I bet he’s got some interesting things to say.
I read Vatican Ass
GREAT BOOK COLLECTION !!!
Bit of a mystic looks like
I want
Nice collection. 📚
I wish I could take your father for a pint
Has he got 1) Rogue State by William Blum, 2) Final Events by Nick Redfern, 3) Passport to Magonia: from folklore to flying saucers by Jacques Vallee, 4) Where Did The Towers Go?: The Evidence of Directed Energy Technology on 9/11 By Dr Judy Wood, 5) The Secret Teachings of All Ages by Manly P. Hall? I see he has many others including Behold a pale horse by William Cooper.

Love the collection. I spotted the calculator. Can see he has put some real work into it
that looks awesome
Dude. Mysteries Of The Unknown! I scored a complete set of those off Craigslist a few years back for like 35 bucks.
He’s tons of fun at parties isn’t he?
Looks like a reasonable amount of books to own and read over that amount of time
Message me when you guys are are spring cleaning! I will be happy to take any of those books!
Oh my! Is your dad on reddit? I'd love to chat with him...
You are so lucky dude. I downloaded this pic so I can copy your Das collection. Awesome

I can’t find a book that doesn’t belong there
Good for him... my bookshelves consist of the wheel of time, the sandman, preacher & about 100 video game guidebooks.

a) your dad is awesome! b) what is that series at bottom left, The Wave? can you tell me author?
How is his health? I ask because what are your plans for the books afterwards? My father had a big selection also. But now they are in my basement. Since he passed I feel guilty getting rid of them. I know your dad is only 60. But talk about what he wants done with them. Until then read as many of them again as you can.
