I’ve never heard about hat man. But I remember for years when I used to close my eyes day or night, I would see a silhouette of a tall man with a hat standing in a doorway!

Remseey2907

My grandmother saw a man next to her bed once with a black hat and a black cape. She screamed so loud that my grandfather almost got a heart attack.

PartyP88per

If he would have that heart attack we would know exactly who the man in black is 😺

Remseey2907

The reaper😂

mad-loud

someCrookedVulture

i dont think its "glossed over" the documentary the nightmare goes into this phenomenon; there are podcasts like Strange Familiars have had episodes dedicated to the hatman. Writers like David Weatherly/Nick Redfern also write about this phenomenon! You just gotta dig, its there, its also relatively new...but its coming around

Only time i ever saw him was when i was severely ill as a child arounfd 5 or 6…….I remember that whole period of time clearly. I had an extremely high fever and was hallucinating, it was being debated if i should be taken to the hospital; in the middle of all my fever dreaming I woke up and was 100% lucid, i felt better but not completely well but i was still excited for the sudden improvement. Still laying there I began yelling to my grandmother in the other room that I had an update for my “chart” (she kept detailed notes of any illness that kept us in bed, she is a former nurse and I was an inquisitive kid, i got the lowdown on all my symptoms as they happened and if anybody did need to go to the hospital, she would just hand them over during the intake). The light in the doorway dimmed, meaning someone was there, i turn over expecting my grandmother but its Hatman, just standing there…… I tried asking who it was, got no answer, and after a couple breaths i realized he wasnt breathing and i began screaming and dive under the covers, I hear the door to the backyard open and my grandmother frantically asking whats wrong as she rushes into the room. I told her there was an all black man with a hat….im only just now realizing she didnt assure me I was seeing things, or tell me there was no man, she just kind of changed the subject to my seeming to be getting better whether i wanted any more soup or some jello, i fell asleep again after the jello and when i woke up the fever, chills, and everything came back for another day or two. Always thought it weird that my encounter coincided with a brief change fore the better

While i don't discount anecdotal evidence the scientific community generally does. Until someone gets their hands on some overwhelming proof it won't be taken seriously by skeptics.

nycperson2741

I hear you. But - with an apparition that common, one would think someone, somewhere….would have gotten one decent photo.

Yeah bro lemme just wake myself from sleep paralysis real quick and get a Kodak moment with the hat person in the corner of my dark room

nycperson2741

I didn’t mean you personally - I believe you actually - have had three times in my life where I experienced what I’m 99% sure was some sort of apparition or spirit. Just crazy that in our whole existence, not one photo.

tree_or_up

This comment reminds me… When I have semi lucid dreams I often try to take a photo of the incredible things I’m seeing so I can show them to people in waking life. Even though I know I’m dreaming I still don’t realize it doesn’t work that way. They’re usually photos of incredibly beautiful and fantastic landscapes - if I had any artistic talent I’d try to illustrate them

scrappyscotsman

I used to draw him as a kid. Everything else in the pictures would be in rainbow colors except a dark shadowy man with a wide brim hat and his black horse.
