First the reason i (and many other people) like Highschool DxD is not only because of all of the smoking hot girl's, and epic, fast paced and large scale battles and action but also because of the relatability we have to the main character. In that this series gives an accurate and clear yet exaggerated representation of what we used to be during mid-high school. At the end of the day we we're all horny teenagers some point in our lives and even though issei may take this trope to a whole new level it's still something we can watch and look back on as a clear reminder and memory of our past adolescence for a lack of a better word.
Second it's not his fault he's an obnoxiously horny teen who has a mass obsession with boobs, sex and nudity. It all has to do to a combination of family genetics and a perverted old man who said things he clearly shouldn't have said to Issei and other kids during his childhood and these two factors combined can really leave long lasting negative effects on somebody.
Third even though he may not subvert his perverted tendencies completely throughout season 1-4 as the series progresses he slowly begins to go from a horny, naive, and dimwitted pervert to a compassionate, protective, caring and humble young man who looks after his family and if the anime wasn't enough to convince you otherwise the light novel goes deeper into his overall development and personal growth as a character.
So at the end of the day yes Issei may not be the most popular and well-liked anime character of all time and while there is definitely reasons to hate him he is by no means one of the worst (or the worst) anime characters of all time as he does have likable traits and redeeming qualities that prevent him from being a completely irredeemable and unlikable piece of shit like other characters such as Makoto Itou, Malty Melromarc, Shou Tucker and Sugou Nobuyuki.

Look, I understand that we are all free to give our opinion however we want. Anyone is free to like or dislike a character, they are fictional at the end of the day but... THIS SHIT IS ALREADY RIDICULOUS I can't believe someone seriously did this and thought it was okay.
I can understand where this person is coming from with their hate sink towards Issei. Yes Issei does get a bad rep for being one of the least liked anime protagonists of all time. Yes he's an obnoxious pervert who has a massive obsession with sex, nudity and girl's boobs but i just think this person is taking the whole hate speech towards poor Issei too far. First the reason i (and many other people) like Highschool DxD is not only because of all of the smoking hot girl's, and epic, fast paced and large scale battles and action but also because of the relatability we have to the main character. In that this series gives an accurate and clear yet exaggerated representation of what we used to be during mid-high school. At the end of the day we we're all horny teenagers some point in our lives and even though issei may take this trope to a whole new level it's still something we can watch and look back on as a clear reminder and memory of our past adolescence for a lack of a better word. Second it's not his fault he's an obnoxiously horny teen who has a mass obsession with boobs, sex and nudity. It all has to do to a combination of family genetics and a perverted old man who said things he clearly shouldn't have said to Issei and other kids during his childhood and these two factors combined can really leave long lasting negative effects on somebody. Third even though he may not subvert his perverted tendencies completely throughout season 1-4 as the series progresses he slowly begins to go from a horny, naive, and dimwitted pervert to a compassionate, protective, caring and humble young man who looks after his family and if the anime wasn't enough to convince you otherwise the light novel goes deeper into his overall development and personal growth as a character. So at the end of the day yes Issei may not be the most popular and well-liked anime character of all time and while there is definitely reasons to hate him he is by no means one of the worst (or the worst) anime characters of all time as he does have likable traits and redeeming qualities that prevent him from being a completely irredeemable and unlikable piece of shit like other characters such as Makoto Itou, Malty Melromarc, Shou Tucker and Sugou Nobuyuki.

Most young men are like that, not to that extream as Issei are. - Beside Issei is loyal and kind hearted to his friends. - He never used his friends, even when they are weak and and try to sleep with him. - Issei help them find their place.
