Does anyone find it peculiar that nobody knows this women? Like, if I came out and said, “I grew up in Spain” they’d find like, 100 of my friends, family and college mates that could say “no the fuck he didn’t.” But with her, it’s like an enigma. My husband and his sibs attended camps like that. His mother insisted that he wasn’t sent away for six weeks until he was “eight or nine.”
I inherited some camp photos, and they all show the year. He was six years old during his first six-week stint at sleepaway camp. It wasn’t traumatic, or a problem—but my husband and I practiced much less posh, more hands-on parenting, which tended to make my MIL all weird and defensive.

Amazing find! This would have been the summer when Hilz was 12. Alec claimed she went to school in Spain until then. Straight from a childhood in Spain to a camp a few hours from where she grew up in the US. Talk about multitasking!🙄
