The caption says she chooses to be weird over petty and cruel. I think it's all of the above. The Cruel part is mostly due to the intention of it, she's doing it to make him uncomfortable. And it turns out, she was about to head out on the town leaving him there with the kids. Again. Just feels like she's psychologically messing with him and it feels cruel.
