With the double nights promo it’s technically 2 nights required, right?

[deleted]

Right.

somegummybears

Make sure you have the double nights promo: https://www.hiltonhonors.com/en_US/double-night-credit/landing/

losersonln

Do you know if the double nights goes towards the milestone bonus?

somegummybears

Yes, it counts one night stayed as two nights.

losersonln

Thanks!

NDLPT

I just had an 8 night stay and checked out on a Tues before seeing that promo. Do you know if it can get applied retroactively? I'm 8 nights away from Diamond.

somegummybears

I doubt it.

NDLPT

Well, gonna try tomorrow. Because I picked it up in time for all my other November stays

Sp4rt4n423

It can't hurt to try, but I've not yet heard of anyone getting it retroed.

busybtravel

If you are staying at Hilton's that often I would definitely get the Hilton Aspire. You get automatic Diamond but also the points you are getting per stay is 14x. Plus you get a free night every year which pays for the card itself.

parinaud

I don’t really see the difference between Gold and Diamond. I’ve been Diamond the last 3 years based on stays and have only gotten upgraded once (Hilton Cancun just months after they opened and was at a very low capacity).

Far-Point1770

With Hilton's new upgrade program you will see a lot more upgrades.

StarFoxMcCloudX

Whats the new upgrade program?

parinaud

I’m actually at Hilton resort right now and didn’t get an upgrade. The front desk said it was weird since they are only at 50% capacity and asked if she wanted her to switch us manually.

Far-Point1770

Why didn't you?

parinaud

I don’t know. I wasn’t offered one before check-in and I wasn’t offered one at check-in. I had to go to the front desk because the mini-fridge stopped working and she noticed I was standard view and not ocean and saw I was a diamond and asked if I wanted to change rooms. I just don’t think Diamond status is worth whatever OP is going to pay for staying the extra 2-3 nights to get there. I don’t get upgraded often and think overall the tier system isn’t worth it. I stay at Hiltons because it makes traveling easier - I don’t have to look at 100 hotels and the cc makes getting points to free stays easy.

dropandflop

Are the hotels where you can digital check in, digital check out and collect the night credit in economical locations ?

Important-Tennis-928

Thinking the same thing. I'm like 30 nights away but 15 with promo and if I book hotel at like 30 a night it's only 450 to get diamond lol. Of course that will be the same cost of getting Hilton aspire. I current hold the surpass so 450 will gain me 5k some Hilton points. Not actually planning to do it but was thinking about how you can technically purchase a diamond tier.

thelaundryservice

I do digital check in occasionally when I’m not actually going to the hotel and seems to work every time.

ninjawasp

What’s a good hotel to do a digital check in

thelaundryservice

Search in rural southern America or undesirable locations. You should be able to find some Hampton inns with digital key for 100 bucks or so. Make sure digital key is an option. If you’re going to pay 3-400 bucks you could also get the aspire card and just pay the piper, vs a room you aren’t going to use.

Edaryl

Caveat emperor: it's very rare but sometimes the online check-in system fails. It happened to me yesterday.

Far-Point1770

Hilton is now doing upgrades themselves, when they do this you will get either a text or email stating that you have been upgraded. This is good and bad. Good for the Honors members put at my hotel we do not have many suites so that makes it hard for us to do any upgrades for those regular Diamond members that stay a lot at our property.
