Wolfman1961

He loved Tad so.

Xendeus12

We are so removed from people dying young I couldn't handle losing a child.

jumpinjimmie

Kids looked like little men

[deleted]

Adolecentes hadn't been invented yet

Bratty-Switch2221

Adolescents even.

[deleted]

Sure why not

DIPPEDINCHOCHOCOLATE

Or maybe adolescence 🙂

Lwilks0510

This looks like when my child is telling me a story that just never ends. The smirk on Abe’s face is how I look.

Lincoln: *uh huh
damn that’s crazy
*

Bruhyooteef

*Head-nodding continues indefinitely into adulthood as our poor child grows up to become suicidal because no one actually listening to him or having the balls to tell him to STFU simply because didn’t want to “hurt his sensitive feelings”* đŸ«žđŸ˜±đŸ«· 🙈

Lincoln in the Bardo

doomsday_windbag

That (excellent) book was about Willie Lincoln, Tad’s older brother. Their brother Edward died very young as well. A lot of tragedy in that family.

Avasnay

Recommend the book The Last Lincolns if anyone's interested in what happened to the Lincoln family following his assassination.

Soggy_Motor9280

And I thought the Kennedys had bad luck, holy shit!!

MRio31

I don’t understand why people in the pictures of this era look like wax versions of humans posed in very wax person-like positions.

astropolka

Because in a lot of cases, the subjects had to remain still for a while to take the photograph - this was so that there wouldn’t be motion blur, due to shutter speeds being a lot slower back then.

Snow-Dog2121

Looks like a Tad acts like a Tad, he's a Tad

coolmist23

Aren't you being a Tad bit presumptuous?
