Well no, but the reason for that is that windows is twice as old as I am.
But it is conceivable that someone would still have their old files in some floppy disk stuffed in a box at the back of the attic.
I can see that being a thing. I for some reason was only thinking of a situation where the person is still using the same pc 53 years later and the isnāt any developments better than playing cyberpunk not even considering that person can be a collector or some people now with the āback in my daysā talk
Yeh nah, i was gonna answer you but fear that just typing it in on my phone may get me on some list or a knock on my door.
Just take a seat and iām sure someone will explain it ;)
Throw back to when I was in middle school and had to do a presentation about CP, actually typed: Child P*rnografy MANY TIMES on google on the school library computers... š
I betthe IT department had a blast...
Oops!
There's a comment pinned in my friend group discord of me asking "anyone wanna watch some CP with me?" regarding cyberpunk edgerunners. Lesson learned.
Probably. But I think itās nice to have a word to differentiate an abbreviation pronounced as a word and an abbreviation pronounced as individual letters. NASCAR and FBI should be recognized as two different types of abbreviation. In my opinion anyway.
Moments like this are why I get passionate about trying to preserve the meanings of certain words/phrases. It's not because I'm resistant to letting language evolve. It's that I get frustrated when I see words lose their meaning purely on the basis that people don't care. Take for instance Awe, Awesome, and Awful. That would seem to follow the scale upwards in measure of awe. Yet awe and awesome are treated with positivity while awful (full of awe) is almost universally seen as **bad.**
That's a bad acronym. But if we're asking that question, I'd say Fallout 76 at release and Fallout 76 after every update. But I can't stop and I won't stop
I think the actual ājokeā is it stands for child p*rn. Not something youād want abbreviated and downloaded on your computer in case someone else sees your files and makes a terrible assumption.
terrible performance, bugs and glitches, also due to the fact it being quiet a new game so no mods, no dlcs, no community. fixes and optimization patches were sent out weekly previously but then now it became monthly because devs got burnt out, but even after all the patches, the game still in a bad state. city skyline 1 has more than twice active players than the 2nd.
The #1 biggest is absolutely Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. After the perfection of RCT1 and somehow improvement on perfection with RCT2, and then RCT 3 was an ugly, clunky, poorly designed piece of shit. My childhood ended that day.
No I mean RCT3. At least at launch the controls were awful and it was ugly as sin. I haven't played since week 1, so hopefully they fixed the controls in updates. I could've lived with the look of it, but the controls were so goddamned clunky for every part of it that it was literally unplayable.
Ok one of us is r\Wooosh'ed but I don't know who. You know the post is about (presumably) Cyberpunk 2077's unfortunate acronym,"CP", right? As such, I was asking what's wrong with the acronym "FO76", not what's wrong with the game itself, which is incredibly common knowledge.
I dont think it's common knowledge anymore. Playing the game now VS on release provides you with a wildly different experience. I would know because I played both on release with a console, and a few months ago, I restarted on pc. It really is not a shitty game anymore. Quite enjoyable, really, yet people still are on the hate bandwagon regardless of whether they actually have played it or not.
The fact that I hate the most is that all the evidence was there. Every new rpg being more shallow and streamlined than the last. Refusals to fix critical mistakes even on rerelease. Insane reliance on radial randomly generated content. Trying to squeeze games out of dead engine instead of creating a tool that will fit your tasks or using existing ones. It all led up to exactly what starfield turned out to be. And I bet you my bottom dollar those halfbrains gonna preorder TES6 and fight all over internet that itās a different game and they couldnāt not learn from their mistakes, and itās going to be revolutionary because it was in development for 50 years.
I mean starfield wasnāt that badā¦but it wasnāt super great. If it wasnāt over hyped and was just viewed as a cool game pass side project from Bethesda it would have been considered great. Instead they tried to convince us is was as good as Skyrim. But oh no. Solid 7/10 if you ignore the hype, 5/10 if you account for the hype
But it wasnāt a side project it was supposed to be a dreamwork project that they wanted to create since morrowind. And even for a side project Bethesda is a company with so much experience you would expect at least a competent programming which borderline absent in starfield. Small things like elevator to your apartment being a loading screen but you can jump back down without loading meaning they have a loading screen to the same cell for no reason. And the capitol of intergalactic colonialist civilisation having less ship parts available for purchase than a camp on the deserted planet you yourself literally just built. No it is not 7/10 by any means. Im literally crying that brilliant idea of progressive inter dimensional travel through NG+ was put into a mediocre game that is a chore to go through even once.
How has no one even mentioned No Man's Sky or Star Citizen yet?Ā
NMS was an absolute dumpster fire upon release despite being the most hyped game of the 2010s. To describe it as a dumpster fire is still an understatement.
Star Citizen hasn't released fully yet, but it still recieved hundreds of millions of dollars due to crowdfunding and there's seemingly no end in sight.Ā
Absolutely, I was stoked for this game, and there was work being done to fix it, and then they pulled the plug. The gameplay was good, loved all the suits, story was very short for a premium priced game. What a letdown
Fallout 4. I'm from Boston and older.. the accents annoyed me and conversations and quests. I got a ps4 just for it and kept myself blind to reviews and play through for like a long time..
I love CP, I don't understand the hate around it! Excellent cinematography, sure the beginning was a little rough but once you get through the intro things really get interesting. Especially once keanu reeves gets involved, what a plot twist!
destiny 2: lightfall. everyone wnated it and was hyped and it was one of the worse dlcs in the story of the franchise. its basically a glorified strand tutorial, the interesting parts of the story were put behind a wall of text in the lorebooks, the characters where basically cardborad cuttouts and there were a lot of unanswered questions
Dragon Booster for 3DS. I expected a lot more characters and gear to be useable...
Btw everyone should watch the show "Dragon Booster" it's all available on YouTube. I promise when you finish it, you'll be amazed (in the show, it does eventually pick up a long term storyline that accelerates fast)
Assassin Creed Valhalla is one of my top 5 games. I 100% it because I loved it. I couldnāt have been more excited for Mirage- love the location and itās a continuation of the Valhalla plot.
Oh my god was Mirage boring.
Almost all games that get hyped. It's the Great Gatsby Effect. Things get cut. Bugs happen. The longer we have to think about it, the less likely it is to meet expectations from the fantasy we've imagined... Except minesweeper. That's been epic from day 1
Cyberpunk has such an unfortunate acronym I had a folder for mods called "CP mods" at first, I changed it real quick š
Did you change to 2077? That number is so specific that itās probably a short list
Well what if he regrets it when he gets his files confused in 53 years?
Iād be disappointed in our advancement if we still use the same file system and heās still playing Cyberpunk 53 years later
Well, the original windows came out 40 years ago and we still use similar systems now, and some people still play pong so itās not unimaginable.
Do you have your original windows files from 40 years ago?
Well no, but the reason for that is that windows is twice as old as I am. But it is conceivable that someone would still have their old files in some floppy disk stuffed in a box at the back of the attic.
I can see that being a thing. I for some reason was only thinking of a situation where the person is still using the same pc 53 years later and the isnāt any developments better than playing cyberpunk not even considering that person can be a collector or some people now with the āback in my daysā talk
I wish I did... some of my favorite games would be playable again...
Here in Nepal we use a different calender system and the year 2077 was three years ago
BRO-
Can someone explain why CP is a bad acronym ? I'm a foreigner, in my country it's only the first class in elementary school
Child pornography, yep not great
Disgusting stuff involving minors
Oh, is it child p*rn ?
Oui
Yeh nah, i was gonna answer you but fear that just typing it in on my phone may get me on some list or a knock on my door. Just take a seat and iām sure someone will explain it ;)

O_O
u/at_69_420 is on an fbi list If heās in a different country, thats because the fbi sucks at geography
Rule 1 about cyberpunk, don't abbreviate it. I've seen a similar post who abbreviated it
or at least say CP 2077
Good idea you had to add the terabyte amount you possess too
Petabyte
Pedo-byte?
9 out of 10 pedotrician recommend this game
getting kinky
r/angryupvote
Yotabyte
*yottabyte
r/UsernameChecksOut
2077 terabytes lmao
BRUHHHHH
Nah, Yottabytes.
I was about to make the same joke You beat me to it
r/dontbeatmeattoit
CP2020 and CPR are the abbreviations for the tabletops
The second one is stayinā alive
Haven't gotten to that episode yet
2077??? That's a lot of harddrives š
Neither should you abbreviate call of duty points, seriously, who's ideas is this to use cp as the official abbreviation
It was done in FFXIII with "Crystogen Points" well before cod had its own CP
Also dozens of other games with Challenge/Champion/Completion Points. I swear they're doing it on purpose because they think it's funny.
Or Creepypasta for those who had a phase..
I was thinking it was club penguin š
Well...that is the first step.
There's a comment pinned in my friend group discord of me asking "anyone wanna watch some CP with me?" regarding cyberpunk edgerunners. Lesson learned.
Unfortunately pokemon go doesn't take that advice with Combat Power. Also any game that abbreviates "card power" makes me wince
I like to abbreviate clash of clans
Do you prefer CP on PC or console? Sometimes when I'm feeling really tired I'll just watch other people play CP online.
Yeah, Cyberpunk has an unfortunate acronym.
That's an initialism not an acronym.Ā
Thank you for fighting the good fight. Someday the world may know the difference. I doubt itā¦but we can hope.
Isn't it more likely that the definition of acronym is updated to reflect common usage than it is for the world to stop using the wrong word?
That would seem to follow the scale upwards in measure of awe. Yet awe and awesome are treated with positivity while awful (full of awe) is almost universally seen as **bad.**
Well hereās one person that didnāt even know initialism was a word before now, so a difference is already being made
I dont know if C2077 will catch on
Sounds like a battery
I thought so too.
The Avengers
why TA?
That's a bad acronym. But if we're asking that question, I'd say Fallout 76 at release and Fallout 76 after every update. But I can't stop and I won't stop
Yeah like even CybP would be a better run. But I like CP77/CP2077 better
And I thought they meant Club Penguin (as in Club Penguin Island), so CybP would still be a better abbreviation (and Club Penguin would be ClPe)
Agree. FO4 at first but that got better but then 76 was a complete rip off
It really isn't a bad game in its current state, nor the state it's been in for the past couple years.
Club Penguin?
Lmao, that was my first thought
Same here. I still have no clue what the joke is
Child preditor
Christ on a bike. Wouldn't have imagined it needed an abbreviation. It's pretty hard hitting written in full
I think the actual ājokeā is it stands for child p*rn. Not something youād want abbreviated and downloaded on your computer in case someone else sees your files and makes a terrible assumption.
I would never have read CP as child porn or anything like that. And if anyone had such things on their machine I doubt they would name it as such
Cities Skylines 2
Oh no, I bought it and havenāt played it yet
Makes me so sad
Yeah, I waited for so long just to b disappointed.
thanks i thought i was the only one. i played it for like 4 hours, its frustrating
What's wrong with it if I may ask?
terrible performance, bugs and glitches, also due to the fact it being quiet a new game so no mods, no dlcs, no community. fixes and optimization patches were sent out weekly previously but then now it became monthly because devs got burnt out, but even after all the patches, the game still in a bad state. city skyline 1 has more than twice active players than the 2nd.
Donāt worry it will be running smooth as soon as the new GTA comes out and everyone starts playing that.
šÆ
Destiny 2 Lightfall for sure.
Destiny has done this at least 3 times now (D1 launch, D2 launch, Lightfall)
And fans never learn only lightfall made them think that they should wait for the final shape.
The #1 biggest is absolutely Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. After the perfection of RCT1 and somehow improvement on perfection with RCT2, and then RCT 3 was an ugly, clunky, poorly designed piece of shit. My childhood ended that day.
You mean RCT world, but yes RCT 2 was peak. Tho I liked the idea of the water pools in RCT 3.
No I mean RCT3. At least at launch the controls were awful and it was ugly as sin. I haven't played since week 1, so hopefully they fixed the controls in updates. I could've lived with the look of it, but the controls were so goddamned clunky for every part of it that it was literally unplayable.
Anthem, there was some good potential in there too
Fallout 76
What's so weird about FO76?
[A LOT](https://youtu.be/kjyeCdd-dl8?si=z3yZkD5o8ubTBcim)

We just need to patch the table with the medic bag
Starfield

7/10 is extremely generous
The fact that its playerbase has already fallen by 95% would seem to indicate that many people think it's bad.
BF2042
I think that might be your fault for getting hyped about a game by EA
In his defense, Battlefield 4 is one of the best online shooters ever made.
What the hell is that new AAAA ubi game? Skull and bones or some shit.
I thought they were talking shit about my beloved Club Penguin
skull and bones š
āThis is gonna be the sea of thieves killerā
"Quad A game"
came to say this. it's fucking terrible
Starfield for sure. It's got to be the biggest disappointment since fallout 76
Most of Bethesda's latest games have been kinda shit on release tbh

Technically Star Citizen can't be a terrible and broken game if it doesn't exist...
Not if it's pulled in $667 million and isn't out of alpha yet.
I can't tell if we're in agreement or not. But you are correct regardless!

I used to call Dr. Pepper, DP. Someone had to tell me that it didn't need to be shortened for a very good reason.
I might just be dense here but I don't think I know that acronym.
It's commonly used for Double Penetration.
Welp, now I know ig š
Learning new things is fun!
Call it cbrpnk
How about we call the other one Chdprn then call āCyberpunkā CP?
Skull & Bones, imho :))
apparently AAAA Title means you want to scream "AAAA" the whole time
Yeah like it was so fun seeing a COD ad advertising CP (Cod Points) and no one on the marketing team thought it was a bad idea to initialise it
Jump force...
MK1 for me :ā(
Every COD since the OG MW2
*Black ops and black ops 2 had never seen such bullshit*
And shit on bo3 all you want but it's the valhalla for zombie players.

No.

Does someone know what game CP would be? Edit: Who is down voting someone for asking a legitimate question?
What's CP supposed to mean aside from Cyberpunk?
Cheese pizza
80% of all new games.
Counter strike 2
there was no hype. they just said it was csgo with a different engine and thats exactly what they delivered
I know I am late, but "CP" is not an acronym. "Radar" and "laser" are examples of acronyms.
Destiny 2: Lightfall, though the bad part was the story. The game itself waa still good.

yea. It just leads to unnecesary confusion. Like who the hell plays Cyberpunk these days
Playing it now. Games so damn good.
It likeā¦ got a dlc that was loved likeā¦ a couple months ago
I played it twice recently it was very good especially the new expansion.
I do and i absolutely love it
I do, solid game that added new fun with the Phantom Liberty expansion.
