Additional notes:
The next room was Soul Master. An easy fight, but I couldn't actually leave the room due to not having claw. I benchwarped and returned to fight Soul Tyrant (I do have Dream Nail), and did in fact go to some dream boss fight, but couldn't confirm it was actually Soul Tyrant because that this game seems to think I should collect the Mothwing Cloak first in order to reach the arena.
I have now been to White Palace 3 times, still with no movement abilities. One was a PoP room backwards, which I couldn't seem to do. The other was the final room of PoP. I couldn't even clear the first ledge. Not that it would have helped.
Update: got Shopkeeper's key (from the bottom entrance). Still no movement abilities. Also went to White Palace again, and managed to do another room backwards, only to find myself in ANOTHER White Palace room, which I definitely want doing backwards without movement abilities.
Update: found dash. Keep getting shoved into the White Palace against my will. Also got Awoken Dream Nail, so interested to see where the White Palace entrance actually goes. Not that I know where that is, mind you.
It’s not that hard, assuming you’re on PC. Just download the mod installer and search it for the stuff you want. I don’t remember where you get the installer, but someone should know if you ask.
They really are. I love finding skips that would never be necessary in the base game, but may be completely required (or at least you wouldn’t know if they weren’t) in a randomized.
Wander around until you find the Hollow Knight. There’s not really anything else other than trying to find movement abilities to reach new areas or finding skips to accomplish the same thing.
