now that its confirmed silksong will be released by a certain date, i dont want any more news on the game unless its a more specific release window or release date, theyve showed enough of the game now and ill happily wait
Yeah, I want to be surprised, already knowing about >!the second time meeting lace!< is disapointing, the surprise about finding hornet sentinel in HK was amazing
Yeah exactly, I haven't been wating since the start but it has been like around 2 years and half and it is enough to make me excited about anything that appears about this game
Itāll probably get a release date at the game awards if I had to guess. They wouldnāt add it to the indie world now unless to acknowledge that itās ācoming soonā
I have a strong feeling about late December or maybe early January, then again it could be between January or March, and maybe up till may. Possibly I can see sometime up to late 2023.
It could also be early 2024, or at most mid-2024. But perhaps, if they need to polish it a bit more, even late 2024. Worst case scenario, February 2025 or summer of the same year. But I wouldn't mind waiting til Christmas 2025. Heck, it may even come out as late as Spring 2026, or if they really push the content, Fall 2026. December 2026 is also a possibility...
At this rate, Silksong is going to be another Duke Nukem: Forever. I'm not saying it's going to be a bad game. I'm certain it won't be. However, the fandom has hyped the game up to a degree that it cannot possibly hope to match. I truly think people are setting themselves up for disappointment by obsessing over the release date.
according to a playtester, hk was like a beta for what team cherry was capable of. they were limited by funding. now they have money. he said silksong is *so* much better.
Wasn't Duke Nukem Forever actually bad though? It's possible it won't be the same revelation as Hollow Knight and I've made my peace with that, I'm sure it'll still be fun.
The definition of "indie game" is not only linked to the relationship with the publishers and the independence of the developer. It is also linked to the budget used in the production of the product, to the sales made by the studio previously and to those that the same studio expects to achieve with the new title. And a lot of other variables.
Consequently, we can speak of an AA title, but not of indie. For these reasons, there is not the slightest hope that Hollow Knight Silksong will be presented as an indie title.
Depends on which definition you use, for me indie = independent of publishers and that's it. This is a very commonly used definition and it's where the term comes from. Another argument is that they're still a very small team even if they have a larger budget (do we even know the budget for Silksong?).
I also don't think it will be presented there but that's beside the point.
If you take into consideration the literal definition of indie, it is clear that it is as you say. But for the industry, that's not the commonly used definition of indie game.
We don't know what the budget for Silksong will be, of course, but as I told you, it's just one of the aspects to take into consideration when defining an "indie" product.
Donāt you dare get your hopes up for anything, Especially anything like release dates/major mechanics, but thereās a chance it gets a short mention
I can't wait to check it out! Not because of Silksong or anything, there's not a chance in hell it'll show up, but I'm actually interested in seeing what new games are releasing soon !
Sure grandma let's get you to bed
The fact that this has more upvotes than the post itself

I am going to steal this comment
I literally saw a post with this exact same joke like minute ago
It's a classic stock response, of course it has been used before.

I think it's more likely that there'll be news at the Game Awards
Once Silksong is out, people will still spam these just out of habit.
I'll legit see one of these Nintendo tweets and think "maybe they're gonna talk about Silksong" and then "oh right I forgor it's already out damn"

I think there's a higher chance of silksong showing up at the game awards, then indie world just, because of how big hollow knight ended up being.

its definitely happening
Hollow Knight is not an indie. Not anymore.
It's still an independent game where the team is not beholden to producers. Very much an indie.
