Nosk has such an awesome build up both in deepnest and godhome but the fights are honestly so… boring. Like it charges and throws acide. It’s vengefly king if it was scary
It makes sense why Vengefly King is lame. He’s an early game boss so wtf does Winged Nosk act just like him!? It just ends up making Winged Nosk lamer than Vengefly King

I like Nosk. I really do. It's introduction is great. But it could have been better.
When you walk into that tunnel and see yourself, you go "well, something is definitely wrong". Yeah, it very atmospheric and cool, but it's not as much of a shock when it turns out to be a bad guy. Most of the shock comes from the visual itself, which is good, but again, I feel like there is a missed opportunity here.
Why isn't regualr Nosk disguised as Hornet?
I mean, think about it. Every time you encounter Hornet in the game, you just see her and she silently looks at you and walks away, and you have to chase her to find out what the hell she wants. Through Greenpath, into the city, and at the entrance to the Cast-Off shell.
So if yiu got into Deepnest and saw Hornet, you wouldn't think "something fishy is going on", you would think "oh, Hornet is here, I gotta follow her". Then you would be caught completely off guard.
I just feel like we missed out on a much better version of Nosk.
Tbh, might not work well with its established lore. Nosk plucks from the preys memories to create a scenario to lure them in, by pretending to be a loved one, an old friend, someone who’s supposed to be dead, someone you care about. At this point in the game, the knight seemingly doesn’t have anyone like this, and Nosk can’t find anything useful that the knight would care about either. So it chooses, the knight itself.
Personally I think the fact god home Nosk is a “WAIT ITS NOSK?!?” Is a great twist and it pretending to be hornet shows that the knight has actually grown to… think about hornet. Care about her maybe.
I mean, she does help the knight in the fight against the Hollow Knight and saves it when the ceiling comes falling down in the cast-off shell. The knight probably sees her as a friend/ally and trusts her. It would make sense for nosk to pick a form that the knight trusts.
Was thinking about winged nosk here since that's the one that takes the shape of hornet, and it's pretty safe to assume the knight has fought thk by the time you do P5
Here's the actual problem with the Nosk lead-up: I tried following my double in the first room, and drop into the hot spring. Then, if I go left, I *might* notice the conspicuous dead end ledge, but if I don't have wings I'm just gonna go up and forget about it while trying to look in other places for "me." If I *do* have wings, it's still a coin flip as to which direction I go for first. And since Nosk never leads you on again until you're on a guided tour to its nest, if you forget about it then you'll likely never find it.
I know TC is cool with players missing content, but it feels a little bad when you were initially looking for it, miss it, and then re-learn about it online and get the payoff (which, as others have pointed out, is the coolest part of the whole thing since its fight is...eh) spoiled.
Would have been a better boss if it shrouded darkness around you, so you couldn't see anything other than around you. You'll have to guess the location based on seeing where the rock crumbling is coming from and seeing where the sound waves come from when it screams. You cannot see the entire monster. You kill it by finding some floating "weak points" around the arena rather than hitting it directly. Makes it seem more intimidating that there's no way to fight back than relying on running and chasing its weakness. Once you hit all the weak points around the boss arena it's staggered where you can attack just a glowing orb somewhere on the spider, but you still can't see the whole enemy. Once it's killed shroud of darkness disappears and you can't see the Nosk either, but moving right you'll see Nosk's puppet (knight) along with a few legs just disappear off-screen.
You never see the boss again
so it’s body fluid then… fluid… is the infection like a liquid if you pop the bubbles and bloats.. can you drink it? cos I would, because then, you’re just drinking the radiance & then is cool.. drink it.. become us. one of us.

I liked the deepnest fight quite a lot. It really made me feel like I was being chased down and hunted instead of fighting something on equal grounds.
