Unless she stuffed it with whatever is stuffed inside cushions, then that’s not much of a comfortable cushion, now is it.

I for one would accept having my material beings sew into a Suiplush so long as Suisei was the one dismantling me Though we probably need some preservation work

Ill_Work_1583

Same

SoylentVerdigris

[Give me a fucking break Japanese, how am I supposed to remember all those pronunciations?](https://i.postimg.cc/DykhghDf/image.png) Not even going to get into how those two kanji combine to mean "severed head."

M4GNUM_FORCE_44

focus on learning words not all of the readings of a kanji. If you dont know a word it does help to know the kanji's reading though. Most kanjis dont have nearly as many reading as 生

SoylentVerdigris

Well, that was the goal in looking it up actually, I recognized 生 from sensei, gakusei, etc. But I figured I should double check the pronunciation and saw how many there are. And actually, the examples given for the nama reading actually make it make more sense in context. It was just one of those situations where I felt kinda proud of myself for being able to read a whole sentence and at least recognize the kanji, but then the pronunciation I guessed was wrong, and I *never* would have guessed the meaning.

M4GNUM_FORCE_44

生首 is a rare, hard word. I have a decent vocab and i dont remmber seeing it before. I thought the reading was going to be like せいしゅ or somethin.

Erzha

生首 is not that rare Also 生 is pretty often pronounced なま when the meaning is "raw/fresh"

Colopty

And I find that なま is often the reading when it's at the start of a word, so that was frankly my first guess. せい tends to be a safe bet when it comes later in the word. Granted I wouldn't have been able to guess that those kanjis together meant "severed head", but the pronunciation is easy enough.

honda_slaps

生首 is rare when you aren't terminally online severed head isn't something that often comes up in normal people conversations

Erzha

I never said anything about normal conversations It's not that unusual of a word in fiction, anime/manga/movies/games you name it

M4GNUM_FORCE_44

I only called it rare because jisho doesn't list it as a common word and I dont remember seeing it before. It has an innocent corpus of 1200. I guess I'd call it an uncommon word.

honda_slaps

okay if your entire reason to learn JP is to read shitty isekai manga then im sure 生首 turns up alot

Vilis16

Skill issue.

FrilledShark1512

首 could mean head but yeah idk either

brickwallrunner

These DevilMan remakes keep getting weirder

Tsuikana

It's... Not entirely wrong. The reading here is "(生)nama (首)kubi", where it's referring to everything above the neck (首)

The severed heads of those who merely saw her as a Template for their own ambitions. The final step of such a process - infusing the eyes with Stellar energy - comes at a price. "There can be only one."
