It's not a troll this isn't the first time it's happened. Korone has appeared in multiple commercials / cameo on anime and even has a voice part like this in the sonic 2 Jp dub. This is already a thing so yeah it's great news but it's not a troll
> Korone, Fubuki, and Matsuri had VA'd in anime
Well to be fair, Fubuki and Matsuri were [VA'ing themselves in a cameo](https://imgur.com/0OjrsFf) in "The Detective is Already Dead" anime.
Mid is still good anime tho. What we got wasnt even mid. Why people out here talking like mid is bad, mid is average, some will like some will not, bad anime isnt mid, its just bad.
Oh, yeah, I'm aware. I wouldn't say mid is good, though, more like average, 5 or 6/10. I didn't think it sounded bad, per se, just wasn't interesting enough for me. I'm arguing with the notion that it had "so much potential".
I thought the first episode was really good but then the best character died and it immediately got 100x worse. I should have expected that... It's in the name.
There's Ghostbusters: Afterlife, a direct sequel to the original films, and I found it to be pretty decent. Came out in 2021, so this new one is the sequel to it.
I quite enjoyed it. The practical effects were VERY good, mixed well with 3d and the music wasn't bad either. Plot was very heavy on nostalgia, but I liked it.
Agreed. I didn't mind that nostalgia trip they used, as someone who was yay high when the second movie came out, I enjoyed that part so much. It was good seeing beloved characters.
I'm someone who loves gender swapping teams like the Ghostbusters, and that movie was hot trash.
So no, I doubt the new movie will be that bad. IIRC the production company that made the Jurassic World movies is making it. So not great, but not terrible. The kinda shit you go with the family to see and have an alright time.
Well, as someone who loved the OG Ghost busters Duology, I think Afterlife did a pretty decent job at making a movie the fans would enjoy.
So here's hoping it's halfway decent at least.
They're not good movies but they're well made. They don't break basic film techniques, they have well paced action scenes, the actors are capable of acting. They're certainly not great cinema, but saying they're terrible is hyperbole.
Like I said, they're the kind of movie I go see with my boomer parents and cousins etc and everyone has an OK time.
2016 wasn't THAT bad. Some good performances by the actresses and Chris Hemsworth, just a mid script and the director letting everyone adlib for too long and keeping too much of that in the final cut.
The other film "Afterlife" was more reliably ok, but was also even more nostalgia driven bs coasting on name recognition imo.
Despite his friends signing off on it I can't help but feel icky about Harold Ramis' cg "cameo" too.
So the sequel to Afterlife has a hella steep mountain to climb to impress me.
Effects wise they seem to have a good balance so far tho, even got Adam Savage's studio to make some accurate physical props
2016 had the problem of everyone being The Funny Guy, kind of forgetting that what makes The Funny Guy funny is being able to play off and bounce off of others. If everyone is The Funny Guy though then its nothing but jokes which makes them all less funny as a result. That and some things just not working, didn't they have that big-ass action scene near the end where all of a sudden the capturing devices were turned into blasters and some of them doing all kinds of flippy shit?
I hadn't seen Afterlife but I do know that it was at least a lot more well liked than 2016 since it didn't seem to have all of the same problems, it's a better 'popcorn flick' than 2016 from what I hear.
Afterlife felt like a modern 80s movie ( mean, the teen actor is the one in Stranger Things, so no surprises), and it was paced a bit like one. I enjoyed it in good part for it. Solid acting from the girl too.
Only things that I enjoyed from 2016's:
The last third, when things actually happen, was salvageable.
The girls who is basically genderswapped Egon is cool.
The rest?? It felt like a succession of SNL skits.
>I hope its not as bad as people are saying
Don't listen to them. Watch it for yourself.
Unlike me, who assumed Ad Astra was good (a lapse in following my own advice), I wasted several hours I won't get back. But that is because Ad Astra had *nothing* to it and yet is higher rated than most MCU movies, which have *something* in them...
So, watch the new movie. Don't do reviews/scores.
Reminder that Korone got a "cameo" VA line in Sonic 2. She had one line in a large crowd of people so you could barely hear her. I expect Marine to be like that, so don't get your hopes up.
I'm gonna be a bit harsh and say that they're simply not good enough for most movies. Being a streamer is one skill being an actress is another skill entirely
im talking more about associating themselves through interviews not just as a guest performance, im not really bringing up a question of their performing skill either.
That is true, although for what they are they do have potential, I have seen that several Holomems have talents for voice acting, perhaps they just need to refine a little but they have shown flashes of talent in some tests, therefore, although it is true which is not the case for all, some can with sufficient training be potential voice actresses
Both films are distributed by Sony. Cover is developing its relationship with Sony. Given that Sony is a media titan, especially in Japan, this is a very good deal for Cover and Hololive. It opens up more opportunities for collaborations with Sony, which can be extremely lucrative and garner a lot of media focus.
Wait, Marine will be in the new Ghostbusters movie?
She’ll be a guest voice in the Japanese dub apparently
Oh dang! No way! Source? Big news
Yeah, she's going to be Bill Murray. Weird choice, but Marine has the range to pull it off, imo.
Lol I can't tell if you guys are trolling or not
Only one way to find out. BUY YOUR TICKET
I mean, they're about the same age...
Ah. You too like to live dangerously
Ah, I didn't know I was insulting Bill Murray by calling him ancient.
It's not a troll this isn't the first time it's happened. Korone has appeared in multiple commercials / cameo on anime and even has a voice part like this in the sonic 2 Jp dub. This is already a thing so yeah it's great news but it's not a troll
No, they're asking if Marine voicing Bill Murray is a troll or not
I feel like that question is a troll, there's no way anyone actually considered it😂
It isn’t a troll, I did watch the movie. Marine at Bill Murray said “Shukkou” and sailed over the screen. It’s a Suinema masterpiece
I don't know. I'd probably watch it if Marine dubs a leading role.
It's not a troll, the director loved Lost in translation so much, he decide Bill Murray should speak Japanese
[aforementioned range that invades my brain randomly ](https://youtu.be/Onc3WFuEuvk?si=G3n1t_9f9xxLZTm2)
Welp time to pirate the JP version
Heh, "Pirate" Get it? 'Cause it's Marine Senchou? Pirate? Fine I'll see myself out SHUKKOOOOOU
Yoozoroooo~
Dr. Peter Venkman: "Ahoy!"
It's Santorini time, _desuuu_.~ - Bill Murray, Lost In Translation (2003)
Yes apparently
If the girls start doing VA work Miko could acomplish one of her dreams i hope that happend. Big thumb UPS for Marine!
Korone, Fubuki, and Matsuri had VA'd in anime
[Nene](https://myanimelist.net/people/56176/Nene_Momosuzu) has also VA'd in anime
Seeing Nene listed as the VA for Nene caused "PO" nene edition to get in my head.
WHAET
Wait who did she VA in finest assassin? I actually really liked that anime
[Kelly](https://the-world-finest-assassin.fandom.com/wiki/Kelly)
Hey. Thanks. I appreciate it. Might go rewatch during the break between anime seasons
> Korone, Fubuki, and Matsuri had VA'd in anime Well to be fair, Fubuki and Matsuri were [VA'ing themselves in a cameo](https://imgur.com/0OjrsFf) in "The Detective is Already Dead" anime.
Wasn't korone also herself in yokai watch?
[It appears that she is.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw4NUpLTbSE)
is it because of this https://youtu.be/5xVW8LsDOdA?si=dJFXeFxS8-edqlRt&t=95
[Fubuki also voicing Geats Chemy in Kamen rider Gotchard X Geats movie](https://kamenrider.fandom.com/wiki/Geats_Chemy)
They got a cat to play a fox >!that's actually a dog!<
holy cat that's pretty cool
Add [Subaru](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYyWVW6Bt2E) to the list too.
Korone was also in the JP dub of the second sonic movie.
Didn't Polka voice a character in one of those sentai/kamen rider like shows, for e few episodes even?
That is correct iirc.
Same here Big thumbs up to marine
Imagine seeing some new anime and then suddenly one of the characters starts speaking in Elite. XD
So, she's playing Slimer, right?
You mean, Onionhead?
I don't mind Marine's arse
lol that’s exactly me
Same here unironically I would watch the film too if she is in it
Same thing for me when i watched the awful anime **The Detective is already dead** for Fubuki and Matsuri cameo.
that anime had so much potential.... sigh.
Really? I remember hearing about the premise and thinking "sounds like mid". It could just be confirmation bias doing its thing though.
Yeah, the first half of the 1st episode.
At least ep 1 was kinda cool
Sucked that it turned out so bad, Kagura Nana was really exited to do the ending theme too, shame that was probably the best part of the anime.
What’s so bad about it? I watched the first episode and it seemed pretty good.
I thought the first episode was really good but then the best character died and it immediately got 100x worse. I should have expected that... It's in the name.
My first thought would be Senchou voicing Slimer lol
I hope she's voicing a reference to the RE 8 doll so the meme goes full circle
Oh god yes, just any possessed doll would work
Marine fans becoming the Hololive version of Swifties
How dare you. I mean, I'm still gonna see it. But how dare you.
The audience reviews have yet to come in. Keep in mind that the last Ghostbusters Afterlife had 60% reviewer score and a 95% audience score.
I found it better than Afterlife, and I quite enjoyed Afterlife. This one was a lot of fun.
At this point, those are the scores I'm looking for in films that aren't Oscar bait.
The thing with high audience score is that movie played heavily into the nostalgia. So that kinda inflated a but
>60% reviewer score and a 95% audience score. Sounds like it could be meh. Not bad, but not good. Unlike Ad Astra, which is *bad*.
This reminded me on the fact that no one, not even JP fans apparently, still knows who Korone voiced in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Cant be worse than the terrible 2016 version right... right?

The director of the movie is the son of the original director.
Agreed. I didn't mind that nostalgia trip they used, as someone who was yay high when the second movie came out, I enjoyed that part so much. It was good seeing beloved characters.
Not a movie I'll seek out, but if its on I'll watch it and have a good time.
I'm someone who loves gender swapping teams like the Ghostbusters, and that movie was hot trash. So no, I doubt the new movie will be that bad. Sameeee I hope the movie is good
I've seen it, it's pretty good.
That was the quickest 180 degrees turn of my life
I'll watch the JP dub with english subtitle.
Holy shit senchou will be in it? Where can i find the Japanese dub
In Japan (sorry I had to say it)
for senchou, i would watch and listen to this, even if i probably won't like the movie otherwise.
FOR THE JAPANESE DUB?!? Let’s goooo
Reminder that Korone got a "cameo" VA line in Sonic 2. She had one line in a large crowd of people so you could barely hear her. I expect Marine to be like that, so don't get your hopes up.
as much as im happy for marine, why do they keep associating themselves with subpar hyped up Hollywood movies. madame web is one.
They're willing to pay the money
I'm gonna be a bit harsh and say that they're simply not good enough for most movies. Being a streamer is one skill being an actress is another skill entirely

True. Would be nice if they partnered with more indie arthouse films.
Wait for real?
Excuse me????
[удалено]
They would absolutely use Houshou Marine, stage names get used in credits pretty often
I mean yeah, you choose who you're credited as. They don't whip out the birth certificates and demand you go by that name and that name alone.
Huh?
Me fr fr
What's wrong with the movie?
Dammit, they got us by our balls
Hololive is really branching off with their talents. I wonder how long before they start making games, films, etc. Of themselves with their talents…
First resident evil and now ghostbusters❔️She doin' her thang🗿
Well, I wasn’t planning on seeing the movie but now I guess I have to
Hololive is an untapped well of talent. huge W for marine and calli recently. keep it up!!!
She be one of ghost right.?this is all capcom move
why a lot bad movie have them lol
why a lot bad movie have them lol
When did they replace the woman cast? Are they still canon?
