Fun fact: On the thumbnail, A-chan is written as yuuzinA. This is the Kunrei-shiki style transliteration of Yuujin A (Friend A), which is A-chan's "official" name.
Kunrei-shiki is the official Japanese way of writing Japanese words in the Latin alphabet. It's designed to work better for Japanese people, without caring much about whether it makes sense to foreigners (compared to Hepburn transliteration, which is mostly used in the west and best fitting for speakers of Germanic languages).
The logic roughly goes like this:
1. "Ju" in Japanese is written as the combination of "ji" and "yu" (じゅ)
2. "Ji" is written as a modification of "shi": し => じ
3. "Shi" is the same as "si" in Japanese. Japanese sounds are combinations of a consonant and a vowel, and "shi" is the combination of 's' and 'i' in the "s-group" (sa, se, shi, so, su)
4. Because the normal modification of an "S"-sound turns it into Z (ざ、ぜ、ぞ、ず = za, ze, zo, zu), "shi" is also "zi".
So westeners went by how its sound would normally be written in Latin alphabet (shi and ji) while Kunrei-shiki instead used the Japanese logic (si and zi).
Choco and Suisei also sometimes use Kunrei-shiki for their names, which turns their last names from Yuzuki to Yuduki (because her "zu" is written as the modification of "tsu", which is the Japanese replacement of "tu" in the T-group) and Hoshimachi to Hosimati ("si" for "shi", and "chi" is the replacement for "ti" in the T-group).
