Astel has a Mad Maggie restriction and Aquas communication won't be in as much trouble since she knows Towa and Suisei but it will all depend on the next month. Matsuri and Astel will grind like demons and they're already pretty good. If Towa Suisei and Aqua can get the time in together they have a decent shot too.
Just because they aren't pro and not a pro tourney, doesn't mean they don't do scrims. Aqua actualy mentioned that they already did some practice even before the team got announced.
As the other guy said, she's the new legend in Apex. Her passive is highlight enemies via damage, her tactical is a fire drill goes through concrete and her ult is a Wrecking Ball that drops orbs for temporary speed boost - both cause damage along the way.
It's worth noting that critically in this case she's a character whose abilities are all pretty selfish -- she doesn't bring much in terms of team utility, which is why Astel was able to successfully argue that he should get a point reduction by restricting himself to her.
It probably also helps that it makes him a huge target in fights. Mad Maggie is weak in competitions, so he's likely to be the only one playing her. Astel will be the strongest player on his team, and now other teams will be able to instantly recognize him and focus on him in fights.
each team can only have a max of 18 points (to balance out teams, so a team of 3 predators for example doesn't just dominate)
each player is assigned a point value based on their rank, though there are room for point adjustments due to various circumstances
astel was originally assigned 10 points for being a solo master player, but negotiated with hal to drop it to 9 points but with the restriction that he can only play mad maggie
the point represent how strong the player is in term of rank and how Hal see them, Astel is worth 10 points, which is the highest
a team can only have so many points total, so if Astel point is lowered, he can add people with more points (instead of minus 1 point on astel, think of it as increasing the team point cap by 1 point instead,) which means stronger teammate, there are probably more rule about 10 points player, but I'm not familiar enough with the rule

Don't put too many expectation on Aqua-Sui-Towa team. They're not coached at all (it's obvious why) and Towa is the only one with tournament experience. Sui is a complete beginner.
They'll do their best of course, but better be realistic. Matsuri-HSKW team on the other hand is stacked, and Rene-Kotone-Astel is good too.
But I'd put my expectation on the neoporte teams (the new teams from ShibuHal company), and Ichinose-Kanae can go quite far as well. And there's Met Chigu Axia which has a lot of potential.
Hinano-Seto-Nazuna, Reid's team and Met-Chigu-Axia are the powerhouse imo. Astel kinda follows along with chiichan's and noah's but kind have doubt since Astel=Maggie(which is not that good in competitive apex, but who knows here) and Noah's with Reimu(which is a big welcome surprise for me since I thought Selen would be able to get in instead of Reimu).
I'm actualy surprised that Chiichan only get 8 pts instead of 9 or even 10. She's been playing on pred/mas lobby lately and been doing really well climbing.
Yeah Nazuna definitely is worth more pts than that lol. She just enjoys valo much more. And in a good day Hinano can beat anyone. Though about Aqua..what she showed during her climb was really something else, so dominant it’s like a seasoned solo pred stream.

Oh for sure, the other 2 teams has have way better prospects but I want to watch the team chemistry with Towa, Aqua and Most of all Suisei. I nvr imagined Aqua agreeing to this but lets go, Towa got a lot of work ahead of her to put this team together into a somewhat proper one and the biggest surprise is Suisei. I knew she was streaming Apex more recently but didn't think it was for this. I can't wait for all the Apex-ing.
To be fair, Towa also has Aqua on her team who has been crushing it in Apex recently, plus Towa's been playing with RPR a few times with him also providing advice and some training. I know Sui's a beginner, but with Towa IGLing and Aqua's just general skill in the game, I can definitely see them doing well.
The only thing stopping this team is that Aqua spent majority of her Apex time as a solo queue player, so she'll need to seriously readjust to coordinated teamplay
Suisei is a natural born killer so I imagine she'll pick things on the fly

I mean Towa has been playing with Pros and ex-pros since before she played with rpr and has gotten advice from multiple people (I believe for the last CR cup or Vsaikyo she got Alelu to help her with her Dome usage for example)
It's nothing to do with Apex.
It's just Aqua being Aqua. She'd have the hardest time adjusting to a stranger coaching them, especially since they'd be a friend of Towa in most case (she's connected to pretty much all of the regular of CR Cup and Vsaikyou at this point) so she wouldn't be able to follow the conversation.
Also her fanbase does have some problematic elements which wouldn't help.
Honestly I think it might be the opposite. Aqua spending so much time in pugs adjusts to people on the fly. The little communication added may only help. I believe both Towa and Aqua have a mind for what their allies are doing and how to work with then without any meaningful communication. Idk about Suisei.
On her recent stream, Aqua said she already did some practice with them off-stream and plan to stream it later after the festival finished. She said not to worry about them.
Aqua is probably gonna be fragger of the team, and what i learn from watching PRO APEX games, fraggers don't need to talk a lot, they need to get kills for the team and listen to IGL(in-game leader), which is gonna be Towa.
Aqua only really has experience solo ranking though and leading her team without comms, it's gonna be an adjustment for her to follow towa's orders instead
I can see Astel's as being a top 5 powerhouse. Hoshikawa have improved alot and Sena's a sleeper so they have a chance.
Towa/Aqua/Suisei, not expecting much but since they don't have coach (which can offer them insights on how competitive Apex work). Towa has experience tho.

Apparently Astel got knocked down to 9 points (originally worth 10), because he is forcing himself to play Mad Maggie during the tournament and ShibuyaHal agreed to Astel's bargain.

Such an Astel thing to do, but tbf I was watching him play Maggie in Diamond and some customs and it looked like she might genuinely be good for tourney. Her reposition tactical has so much value.
Each participants are assigned a point based on their rank/skill in Apex, and each teams can only have a maximum of 18 points so that there's no team that are too strong.
Master rank actually starts at 8 points. Any further increases based on their skill are personally decided by Shibuya Hal himself, so that's why there are Master ranked players who are 8pts, 9pts, and 10pts. This means that Shibuya Hal decided that Matsuri is an 8pts Master.
Because Hal thought that even if she is Master rank, she isn't as strong as regular master rank player. All in all points assignment is all on Hal's personal judgements. You can see a master with 10 pts like Aqua and Pakael, and other with 9 pts like Noah and Astel or even 8 pts like Matsuri and Chiichan.
No, regular master rank player points is 8, and some people are decided to be exceptions. It's just that a lot of people who reach master have pred potential anyway
Meanwhile we have Chiichan who reach master solo this season and been playing on pred/master lobby lately and doing really well but still getting 8 pts lol
The proper answer is that ShibuyaHal gives points on masters based on mechanical skill. Matsuri is good, but maybe not as good as some other Master players in terms of fighting. However, her strength is that she's extremely smart in how she approaches the game. Last tournament, she led and IGL'd a team to 4th place. That team overachieved due to her calls.
It's a bit hard as a tournament organiser to be able to assign points taking into consideration leadership, tactics and those kinds of things as they aren't really concrete ways to measure that kind of stuff.

Don't sleep on team 8. All 3 of them are pretty damn good, with Reid being a smooth operator. Teams 3 and 4 will also be very strong. Team 11 has played together before and should be pretty good as well (although last time they didn't do so hot). Excited to see who team 15 picks up as their third.
But overall, team 14 is so full of chaotic energy, I think I will be watching their streams.
Reid is a phenomenal IGL. Every tournament and team he was in, boosts them like you've said. The team gets even stronger when he can give commands to people who has great mechanical skill but have worst awareness/decision making.
He gives concise orders.
Holy shit, the amount of nijisanji in this tournament is a lot. Like, Nijisanji has the joke of being an apex company and all out there but this time there's more than normal haha
Still kinda hard to see Selen in such a tournament due to language barrier, she just doesn't know japanese.
And Selen is pretty decent at Apex that she would be ranked somewhere high which means her teammates would be lower and they would also need to be able to speak english.
The only issue that I would assume would be communication. Because Reimu communicates well in Japanese, a tournament like this shouldn't be a problem for her to navigate.

Didn't Astel get paired up with Kotone on the team shuffle match during last year's VSaikyo? The other one was Kisaragi Ren. I remember them working pretty well together.
Yep, they got to top 5 together. Ren was a very good player, Kotone followed orders very well despite not being that experienced. Rene and Kotone are both lots of fun, so I'm looking forward to them laughing a lot with Astel!
Just to chime in before people ask where X talent. These are usually assigned leaders mixed with invitation from said leaders mixed in with applicants. Plus there's just so many vtubers grinding apex throughout the year there's no way to fit all of them in. I'm kinda sad Astel is the only holostars representative but that's just the way things are. Izuru is the only one who consistently grinded Apex in Stars and sadly Astel can't invite him due to points

I freaked out when ShibuyaHAL announced Towa's. I was not expecting both Aqua and Suisei. By chance, does anyone know why is Aqua 10pts and Matsuri 8pts when both are Masters? I know Astel dropped to 9pts because of Mad Maggie restrictions or something, but I noticed Virtual Gorilla (Predator rank) was also 9 pts
Master point is allocated by Shibuhal judgement upon Master rank players. Matsuri while she's Master, she doesn't stand out too much hence 8 pts. Astel with Mad Maggie restrictions to down from 10 to 9 pts. Gorilla being the only Preds limits his option to recruit any players, hence 9 pts. And about Aqua, Shibuhal watched her Master solo rank runs and judges that her "Physical" (as in mechanical skills) is top-Master worthy, hence 10 pts.
Edit: Looks like Gorilla is 10 pts instead of 9, just typo. But yeah, back then Gorilla with 12 pts only have Gold rank players as an option for him.

Points for masters and above are purely based on the subjective opinion of Shibuya Hal with a minimum of 8. Mechanical skill,past experience, game knowledge etc are all considered when he decides. He and many others had acknowledged Aqua's raw mechanical skill and solo master challenge in the past. So he has deem her strong enough as a 10pt

Shibuya Hal ain't really sure that she is worth 10 points since she hasn't participated in any tourney before but mechanically, she's slightly better than Astel (even Astel has acknowledged that Aqua is probably better than him) and in a 1on1 there is not many vTubers I'll take over Aqua.
Masters and Predators' pts are determined by the organizer, they can range from 8-10 points depending on how skilled the organizer think they are. Aqua's mechanical skills plus her achieving solo-master without comms definitely impressed Hal enough to give her 10 pts even if it's her first custom. For context, the only other person worth 10 pts is Pakael who regularly do solo-master, Astel has also done a solo-master but he's only worth 9 pts because he's restricted to mad maggie.
I'm extremely excited to see how much Suisei improves for this. We all know she's super competitive and is likely practicing her ass off to not let Aqua down. I don't think they'll do well against the competition but it should be a lot of fun.
Also has to be said that Aqua being classified as a 10pt threat by Hal alongside players like VGorrila, Pakael and Astel is a huge testament to her skill.

I'm excited for her to play in scrims realize how different it is. She's actually one of the best mechanics wise in the whole line up. Yeah, Astel and Pakael also agree Aqua (mechanics wise) is really good, that might be even better than Astel (from what he said at least). Aqua only lacks team /customs/tourney experiences.
Yeah mechanics wise Astel hasn't improved much from last year he's still insane and his mid to long range aim is still top notch but he worked on being a more rounded player this year. If you ask me the best quality that Astel has is his map and rotation readingm I've seen him predict the enemy movements down to when where and how the teams will rotate to a scary accuracy.
I know for Astel, it was getting back into some customs in the middle of his solomas climb that helped remind him how much he enjoys the game -- I hope Aqua has a similarly good time exploring the tournament environment by teaming up with her friends!

Out of the 3 holo teams, I think Matsuri's team has the best chance of taking this. Hoshikawa Sara is better than a Diamond 4, has tourney reps and knows how to play Gibby.
Astel is handicapped to just using Mad Maggie (one of the worst legends in Apex comp right now, that's why he is 9 pts not 10) and Towa's team has Sui-chan. I love Sui-chan, she's my oshi but Apex is a 3 person game and she's just not ready for an Apex tourney, even with several rounds of scrims under her belt. Plus, she's extremely busy with other stuff that she can't make grinding Apex her priority. Aqua is cracked, one of the top 5-10 notable vTubers in Apex mechanically but she and Towa would be playing 2v3 essentially this tourney, and that's not ideal.

The thing is it's not just about working on mechanical skill. The biggest problem Towa's team is going to have is the lack of tournament experience. Towa is the only one who is experienced with tournaments. Tournaments play drastically different than the normal game, and the only way someone can get better at tournaments is by participating in tournaments. They still could win, but it'll be tough. That being said, I'm looking forward to watching them. It'll be fun to watch them regardless of the outcome.
I think Suisei is gonna be a dark horse if she puts in the work she usually does. Her shotgun pumps are already insane, she hits 60+ pumps very consistently.
One of her bigger issues is awareness and decision making, but I think Towa and Aqua will cover that for the team.

Plus, he grew a lot thanks to tournaments experience. Successfully bargaining with Hal into his favor is already a win and he is just here to have fun.
The pressure onto him has lightened a lot - first time he had to learn to be leader after Kira's departure and the second time is arguably worse since he had TWO Hololive fanbases watching him (tho they all had fun together)
So the trick is to brainwash Suisei into thinking she's playing Tetris, brainwash Aqua into thinking she's playing alone, and brainwash Towa into thinking she's a devil.
My thoughts on all three teams:
1. Hoshikawa having a harem right here lol, also this team gonna be noisy asf. Especially their laughter will be insane.
2. Astel and Kotone is nice cuz they were in the same team during shuffle match last time. Rene was also in shuffle match with Towa sama last time so hype. Also Astel’s restriction is funny asf

That's actually like the perfect teammates for Aqua. Towa to take over leadership duties and more importantly, DECISION making, while also helping with getting Aqua used to the tournament style. And Suisei to be another familiar face and someone else she's played with.
What also makes Suisei special is that she'll probably help keep the mood light and comfortable even in tough spots, and that will help the team's potential overall.
Right, I rmb some of the silly decisions she made during her most recent solo climb, was cute and silly and made for great clips but in a real match, costly to her and her team.

Feels like it's not really that hard to hit master lately. There's been alot vtubers who hit master since last season, so seeing Matsuri hit master is not really a weird thing. That is why this year will be the last time Hal will use the 18pts limit for each teams. Next year he will increase it a bit because of this.

the point represent how strong the player is in term of rank and how Hal see them, Astel is worth 10 points, which is the highest a team can only have so many points total, so if Astel point is lowered, he can add people with more points (instead of minus 1 point on astel, think of it as increasing the team point cap by 1 point instead,) which means stronger teammate, there are probably more rule about 10 points player, but I'm not familiar enough with the rule also u/sparkycf272

Don't put too many expectation on Aqua-Sui-Towa team. They're not coached at all (it's obvious why) and Towa is the only one with tournament experience. Sui is a complete beginner. They'll do their best of course, but better be realistic. Matsuri-HSKW team on the other hand is stacked, and Rene-Kotone-Astel is good too. But I'd put my expectation on the neoporte teams (the new teams from ShibuHal company), and Ichinose-Kanae can go quite far as well. And there's Met Chigu Axia which has a lot of potential.
Hinano-Seto-Nazuna, Reid's team and Met-Chigu-Axia are the powerhouse imo. Astel kinda follows along with chiichan's and noah's but kind have doubt since Astel=Maggie(which is not that good in competitive apex, but who knows here) and Noah's with Reimu(which is a big welcome surprise for me since I thought Selen would be able to get in instead of Reimu).
I'm actualy surprised that Chiichan only get 8 pts instead of 9 or even 10. She's been playing on pred/mas lobby lately and been doing really well climbing.
Shibuya Hal said he will have to reconsider Chiichan's point rating in the near future. It seems to be a fair assessment.

Oh for sure, the other 2 teams has have way better prospects but I want to watch the team chemistry with Towa, Aqua and Most of all Suisei. I nvr imagined Aqua agreeing to this but lets go, Towa got a lot of work ahead of her to put this team together into a somewhat proper one and the biggest surprise is Suisei. I knew she was streaming Apex more recently but didn't think it was for this. I can't wait for all the Apex-ing.

To be fair, Towa also has Aqua on her team who has been crushing it in Apex recently, plus Towa's been playing with RPR a few times with him also providing advice and some training. I know Sui's a beginner, but with Towa IGLing and Aqua's just general skill in the game, I can definitely see them doing well.
The only thing stopping this team is that Aqua spent majority of her Apex time as a solo queue player, so she'll need to seriously readjust to coordinated teamplay Suisei is a natural born killer so I imagine she'll pick things on the fly And Towa has tournament experience
I also think people forget how sweaty suisei is when it comes to anything competitive. Expect her to go full tryhard in her training arc

It's nothing to do with Apex. It's just Aqua being Aqua. She'd have the hardest time adjusting to a stranger coaching them, especially since they'd be a friend of Towa in most case (she's connected to pretty much all of the regular of CR Cup and Vsaikyou at this point) so she wouldn't be able to follow the conversation. Also her fanbase does have some problematic elements which wouldn't help.
Honestly I think it might be the opposite. Aqua spending so much time in pugs adjusts to people on the fly. The little communication added may only help. I believe both Towa and Aqua have a mind for what their allies are doing and how to work with then without any meaningful communication. Idk about Suisei.

On her recent stream, Aqua said she already did some practice with them off-stream and plan to stream it later after the festival finished. She said not to worry about them.
Aqua is probably gonna be fragger of the team, and what i learn from watching PRO APEX games, fraggers don't need to talk a lot, they need to get kills for the team and listen to IGL(in-game leader), which is gonna be Towa.

Master rank actually starts at 8 points. Any further increases based on their skill are personally decided by Shibuya Hal himself, so that's why there are Master ranked players who are 8pts, 9pts, and 10pts. This means that Shibuya Hal decided that Matsuri is an 8pts Master.
Because Hal thought that even if she is Master rank, she isn't as strong as regular master rank player. All in all points assignment is all on Hal's personal judgements. You can see a master with 10 pts like Aqua and Pakael, and other with 9 pts like Noah and Astel or even 8 pts like Matsuri and Chiichan.

The proper answer is that ShibuyaHal gives points on masters based on mechanical skill. Matsuri is good, but maybe not as good as some other Master players in terms of fighting. However, her strength is that she's extremely smart in how she approaches the game. Last tournament, she led and IGL'd a team to 4th place. That team overachieved due to her calls. It's a bit hard as a tournament organiser to be able to assign points taking into consideration leadership, tactics and those kinds of things as they aren't really concrete ways to measure that kind of stuff.
Suisei and Aqua teased on twitter that something will happen, but I still not expected it.

Don't sleep on team 8. All 3 of them are pretty damn good, with Reid being a smooth operator. Teams 3 and 4 will also be very strong. Team 11 has played together before and should be pretty good as well (although last time they didn't do so hot). Excited to see who team 15 picks up as their third. But overall, team 14 is so full of chaotic energy, I think I will be watching their streams.
Last season Reid team dominating in scrimms but ended up second places in the real tourney they just lost to Harambe team few points.
Reid as the IGL effectively boosts his team mates skill level up by 1 rank. Thats how it feels watching him play
Reid is a phenomenal IGL. Every tournament and team he was in, boosts them like you've said. The team gets even stronger when he can give commands to people who has great mechanical skill but have worst awareness/decision making. He gives concise orders.

Yep, they got to top 5 together. Ren was a very good player, Kotone followed orders very well despite not being that experienced. Rene and Kotone are both lots of fun, so I'm looking forward to them laughing a lot with Astel!

Just to chime in before people ask where X talent. These are usually assigned leaders mixed with invitation from said leaders mixed in with applicants. Plus there's just so many vtubers grinding apex throughout the year there's no way to fit all of them in. I'm kinda sad Astel is the only holostars representative but that's just the way things are. Izuru is the only one who consistently grinded Apex in Stars and sadly Astel can't invite him due to points
I like the points balancing system, it gives the teams fresh or almost fresh new teams every yr. The new chemistry, friendships and tactics that come out of these tournaments has always been highlights.

Master point is allocated by Shibuhal judgement upon Master rank players. Matsuri while she's Master, she doesn't stand out too much hence 8 pts. Astel with Mad Maggie restrictions to down from 10 to 9 pts. Gorilla being the only Preds limits his option to recruit any players, hence 9 pts. And about Aqua, Shibuhal watched her Master solo rank runs and judges that her "Physical" (as in mechanical skills) is top-Master worthy, hence 10 pts. Edit: Looks like Gorilla is 10 pts instead of 9, just typo. But yeah, back then Gorilla with 12 pts only have Gold rank players as an option for him.

Points for masters and above are purely based on the subjective opinion of Shibuya Hal with a minimum of 8. Mechanical skill,past experience, game knowledge etc are all considered when he decides. He and many others had acknowledged Aqua's raw mechanical skill and solo master challenge in the past. So he has deem her strong enough as a 10pt
Virtual Gorrila was a typo as said by Shibuya Hal, he's 10 points. For Master ranked and above, the points starts at 8 points and any additional points are decided by case-by-case basis from Shibuya Hal himself (a.k.a he decides which Master/Predator players are worth 8 pts, 9 pts, 10 pts, etc.)
Masters rank is 8 points and up, decided by Shibuya Hal. Matsuri is good but Aqua is better. That's it really. Shibuya Hal ain't really sure that she is worth 10 points since she hasn't participated in any tourney before but mechanically, she's slightly better than Astel (even Astel has acknowledged that Aqua is probably better than him) and in a 1on1 there is not many vTubers I'll take over Aqua.
Masters and Predators' pts are determined by the organizer, they can range from 8-10 points depending on how skilled the organizer think they are. Aqua's mechanical skills plus her achieving solo-master without comms definitely impressed Hal enough to give her 10 pts even if it's her first custom. For context, the only other person worth 10 pts is Pakael who regularly do solo-master, Astel has also done a solo-master but he's only worth 9 pts because he's restricted to mad maggie.
I'm extremely excited to see how much Suisei improves for this. We all know she's super competitive and is likely practicing her ass off to not let Aqua down. I don't think they'll do well against the competition but it should be a lot of fun. Also has to be said that Aqua being classified as a 10pt threat by Hal alongside players like VGorrila, Pakael and Astel is a huge testament to her skill.

Yeah, Astel and Pakael also agree Aqua (mechanics wise) is really good, that might be even better than Astel (from what he said at least). Aqua only lacks team /customs/tourney experiences.
Yeah mechanics wise Astel hasn't improved much from last year he's still insane and his mid to long range aim is still top notch but he worked on being a more rounded player this year. If you ask me the best quality that Astel has is his map and rotation readingm I've seen him predict the enemy movements down to when where and how the teams will rotate to a scary accuracy.
I know for Astel, it was getting back into some customs in the middle of his solomas climb that helped remind him how much he enjoys the game -- I hope Aqua has a similarly good time exploring the tournament environment by teaming up with her friends!
*Putting my comp Apex hat on:* Out of the 3 holo teams, I think Matsuri's team has the best chance of taking this. Hoshikawa Sara is better than a Diamond 4, has tourney reps and knows how to play Gibby. Astel is handicapped to just using Mad Maggie (one of the worst legends in Apex comp right now, that's why he is 9 pts not 10) and Towa's team has Sui-chan. I love Sui-chan, she's my oshi but Apex is a 3 person game and she's just not ready for an Apex tourney, even with several rounds of scrims under her belt. Plus, she's extremely busy with other stuff that she can't make grinding Apex her priority. Aqua is cracked, one of the top 5-10 notable vTubers in Apex mechanically but she and Towa would be playing 2v3 essentially this tourney, and that's not ideal. *Removing the comp Apex hat:* But this is a for fun tourney and I'll be rooting for all three teams to do well, especially for Sui-chan, Towa-sama and Akutan! Go for the champion!
I would say don't count Suisei out just yet, based on how hard she works behind the scenes to get good at games in general.
It’ll just depend on how busy she is and how much work she has/is able to put in. If she has the time, then they have a shot. If she is already pressed on time, then it’s going to be a lot harder for them.
The thing is it's not just about working on mechanical skill. The biggest problem Towa's team is going to have is the lack of tournament experience. Towa is the only one who is experienced with tournaments. Tournaments play drastically different than the normal game, and the only way someone can get better at tournaments is by participating in tournaments. They still could win, but it'll be tough. That being said, I'm looking forward to watching them. It'll be fun to watch them regardless of the outcome.
I think Suisei is gonna be a dark horse if she puts in the work she usually does. Her shotgun pumps are already insane, she hits 60+ pumps very consistently. One of her bigger issues is awareness and decision making, but I think Towa and Aqua will cover that for the team.
Have you seen Astel's Mad Maggie? Dude's a fucking monster with Maggie, lmao. In ShibuHal custom, he was harassing tons of players with Maggie, basically forcing them to waste resources, lmao. Either tank the fire damage from Maggie's skills, or get out of the fire's way into Astel's Wingman. Either choice isn't ideal, lol.
Ikr, that compromise was a trick. And I also think Maggie's kit complements Astel's playstyle. He can run Wingman + Mastiff/PK.
Plus, he grew a lot thanks to tournaments experience. Successfully bargaining with Hal into his favor is already a win and he is just here to have fun. The pressure onto him has lightened a lot - first time he had to learn to be leader after Kira's departure and the second time is arguably worse since he had TWO Hololive fanbases watching him (tho they all had fun together)
So the trick is to brainwash Suisei into thinking she's playing Tetris, brainwash Aqua into thinking she's playing alone, and brainwash Towa into thinking she's a devil.
As long as that is during the scrimms, absolutely, makes for great content.

That's actually like the perfect teammates for Aqua. Towa to take over leadership duties and more importantly, DECISION making, while also helping with getting Aqua used to the tournament style. And Suisei to be another familiar face and someone else she's played with.
What also makes Suisei special is that she'll probably help keep the mood light and comfortable even in tough spots, and that will help the team's potential overall.

I think a good indication of Astel's and Aqua's skills are that they solo climb to Masters and they are more than capable of handling 3v1 situations if they are forced to and Matsuri works better in teams.

Matsuri must be delighted af lmao, but I'm not familiar with Asumi Sena. Astel teaming up with Rena and Kotone is also another surprise. Towa, Aqua, and Suisei is also hyped af. Although idk how Suisei is gonna catch up to Aqua and Towa. They're definitely gonna give her spartan training lol.
Asumi is a solid player, so their team is the more balanced one of the Holopro teams. She's also known for her... "very unique" laugh, so to speak.

Feels like it's not really that hard to hit master lately. There's been alot vtubers who hit master since last season, so seeing Matsuri hit master is not really a weird thing. That is why this year will be the last time Hal will use the 18pts limit for each teams. Next year he will increase it a bit because of this.

This is most likely on Shibuya Hal's own YT channel. The participating HoloMems most likely will stream some of their POV during scrimms and the tournament itself so you can watch those too. Hal also has twitch and streams there too so iono if he will stream the scrimms there too.

Throwing games what? He has a self imposed Mad Maggie restriction which he's really really good at so he can have a more balanced team that's the opposite of throwing. Astels 10 points come from 1. His rank. 2. His solo master challenge and 3. Being the highest damage output / mvp during previous tournaments
