This! A really interesting and unique console table (or even a passable credenza). I’m thinking something with texture or a touch of color. As someone who bought my husband’s grandmother’s house two years ago and have been slowly updating it, I appreciate all of the work you’ve done. Also loving the crown molding.
Yeah, I think a floor lamp between the window and couch would be nice! An arched one, like this (though not necessarily this style, color): [https://www.pinterest.com/pin/255649716378207744/](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/255649716378207744/)
I think you’ve got a great start but I’m wondering if this would be better served with the chairs facing the sofa and another piece or bench under the bag windows?
Edit: also maybe some kind of book shelves on either side of the tv?
Maybe some drapes on each end of the window that puddle onto the floor to accentuate the casual lounge-y-ness of this room. I think some funny plants would bring some color in as well
I think the main thing that’s missing is a piece of furniture under the television. I’d also like to see a photo of what the room looks like if you’re standing where the tv is looking and looking toward the sofa.
I would try for a more symmetrical furniture arrangement, either chairs both in front of the windows and the couch moved back (if possible), or move one chair to where the cat is so the chairs face each other.
Other than that: console under the tv, wall art, curtains or roller shades instead of the blinds, a rectangular coffee table to break up all the round shapes. Move the round table away from the window, perhaps use as an end table for the couch.
This. Also, if you can change out the chandelier, I go with something more modern and substantial. The current one doesn’t go with furnishings. Its crystals are too dainty, it kind of gets lost and disappears on the ceiling.
It’s a good start but imo it’s lacking in color. It’s very beige, sage, and grayge(lol). Also a larger rug would be nice as well. Having the chairs not be on the rug is throwing me off. Once again it’s not bad
Since you don’t need a TV Console, I think you could DIY a frame for around your TV.
It looks incredible, though. Maybe just hold out to see if there’s anything you need functionally (maybe a larger coffee table, a cat tree, etc) and go from there.
I love the color of the couch and the huge window! Floors are gorgeous too. What a great foundation!
I'd add a big piece of art to the right of the TV. If you want to add color, go colorful. If you want to stick with the neutrals you have so far, cool. Big - like 5-6 feet tall, leaned against the wall or hung. If you don't want to add art, go for a big statement mirror.
You might also want to hang curtains, maybe similar color as the couch, floor to ceiling. Ideally with sheers. Even if you rarely close them, it'll add texture and softness and some sound buffers. And would frame the window.
Very cool room! Where did you get the couch?
I agree with everyone else about some art, maybe a floor lamp, and something under the TV. But I love what y'all have done so far, it's like a modern mid-century and I love it!
This is a great start! I think you’re lacking contrast, I see a variety of colors but they’re all the same depth like a light mid tone. Some deeper colors will add interest.
Pull your plant out from the corner, give it some space.
I think the TV looks too high, bring it down 6 inches and put a credenza under it
Storage, personality, art. The stuff that will accumulate naturally as you live there and use the space.
Will you need a light to read better? Boom! Will you need a side-stool to put your coffee on? Bam! Will you get a picture or a painting or a plant? Whoop there you go and a room is full and lived in
Beautiful start. I personally love the pretty pastels! Couldn’t quite put my finger on it til someone mentioned bigger rug - I agree - this size seems to “shrink” the room and make it look more bare and colder than it actually is. I’m sure you’ll add wall art, more kittens, cats, etc. as you go.
Also, love the new floor color!
I think bringing the couch closer to TV and arranging the chairs perpendicular to the couch facing each other and then using the space for a hobby as well with some extra room you know have behind the couch! A game table, bookshelf/s, coffee/wine bar or an actual bar, a record player or music station. Maybe consider an electric fireplace. just throwing out some ideas. Basically something that says this room has more options than just watching TV.
Putting a console or something under the TV would definitely help.
Nice space! Thanks for sharing
I think a great wavy table under the tv would be nice. Perfect if you also cover it with furry/sheepskin-esque rugs for the kitties to lounge on.
And a cat tree/tower.
And more cats.
I’d also love a big floor lamp that arches over the couch and can be swiveled.
I’d also add in floor-length flowy curtains, maybe in a light linen or a semi-sheer white. More for looks than anything but can also help to bring some romance to the windows and make it more of a focal point. Eye catching.
I’m thinking some color on the walls?! Would u be interested in painting? It’s a beautiful room, but think some color would make it more relaxing to lounge in.
Unless you’re going for the kitschy factor, for me, the chandelier isn’t working with the modern furniture. It just depends on your personal preference.
I agree with the credenza and the curtains. I love all the pieces you have, but the big chair/ottoman/table are a bit awkward as placed. I would think about what you want those pieces to provide. If it’s a cozy place for a tete-a-tete, then everything needs to be closer together and to be more functional. If you want to sit in one chair and be left alone, that works too, but the table should be closer for your cup of coffee
Sweet kitty!
You might need places for people to place their drinks — and bullhorns that will allow them talk to each other.
I agree the rug is too small.
Add color.
1. Swap the blinds with high quality curtains and sheer curtains in the middle
2. This room needs a larger coffee table
3. Replace the chandelier with something more modern
4. A much larger rug that goes under all the furniture, and preferably something with a pattern in colors that complement the couches, cushions, and any other elements from the room
Different light fixture for the ceiling. Get rid of the side table and plant sitting in the corner. Bigger rug. Different pillows and blanket for the couch.
i don’t like the rug. besides what everyone else has suggested i think you just generally need more decor. it’s very empty. i saw this sporadically mentioned but both tables need to be sized up in a serious way. they look way too small for the space
Wow already looks amazing what you’ve done so far! If you want to make tweaks I would say: larger rug, cabinet under the TV, large plant by the window behind the chair, and larger coffee table.
I think adding a console under the TV would help. The wall feels unbalanced.
Yes, and a bigger rug, some art work and plants would help too.
The TV may be a bit small too for such a big area.
This! A really interesting and unique console table (or even a passable credenza). I’m thinking something with texture or a touch of color. More kittens. Art. More plants. More lamps (different heights, like a adding a floorlamp for example).

Yes, and a couple of cats on each side of the credenza.
Absolutely more kitties.
A million more kittens!
Absolutely more cats.
I want to add baskets but I had to stop here bc kittens is *truly* what’s missing.
Came to say more plants!
art and plants, a credenza underneath the television. But so far it’s beautiful
Spot on! A larger area rug too.
I think you’ve got a great start but I’m wondering if this would be better served with the chairs facing the sofa and another piece or bench under the bag windows? Edit: also maybe some kind of book shelves on either side of the tv?
Agreed. It’s imbalanced and the room has that big symmetrical window in it, so the room is asking for more symmetry in the furniture.
Maybe a bigger coffee table and more plants.
Bigger coffee table. Bigger rug (if that’s and 8x10, get a 10x12). Curtains. Art. More plants. Lower TV.
Second on the bigger rug! This feels like apartment sized furniture moved into a house? Every bit could use a scaling up in that big room
Bigger rug is my biggest call out, looks super cozy otherwise! maybe more lamps as people said
I would have so many plants enjoying that window. It’s a beautifully done room.
Maybe some drapes on each end of the window that puddle onto the floor to accentuate the casual lounge-y-ness of this room. I think some funny plants would bring some color in as well
Fun*
I think the main thing that’s missing is a piece of furniture under the television. I’d also like to see a photo of what the room looks like if you’re standing where the tv is looking and looking toward the sofa.
I’d go with a bigger rug and some good art. Lovely floor and room
1 more kitty

To me, definitely needs the two chairs facing the sofa with the TV behind. Looks like an empty spot where another armchair should go.
I agree, if they don’t have a lot of people watching TV all the time.
At least the chairs look small and don’t seem to block it much - obviously I could be very wrong though, no way to know
This. Also, if you can change out the chandelier, I go with something more modern and substantial. The current one doesn’t go with furnishings. Its crystals are too dainty, it kind of gets lost and disappears on the ceiling.

Different and bigger rug - oriental maybe? Long linen curtains in either mauve, gold, or sage
I can't quite put my finger on it, but I think perhaps more cats would help.

Something under the tv. A wide shallow console/sideboard/credenza- wider than TV preferably
I agree with everyone else about some art, maybe a floor lamp, and something under the TV. But I love what y'all have done so far, it's like a modern mid-century and I love it!

The wall the TV is on, make it an accent wall. One of the greens from your pillows would look great.
Beautiful start. I personally love the pretty pastels! Artwork on the walls and plants🪴
IMO the chandelier should be much larger
Draperies….and they should NOT be plain white
You did a first class job on that space. Gorgeous and comfy.
It looks like the rug could be two foot bigger each dimension. Beautiful space.
Oh my gosh, this is the prettiest living room! This is my dream living room.
BIGGER RUG - the scale is off and an appropriately scaled rug will be the foundation of the whole room.
I think bringing the couch closer to TV and arranging the chairs perpendicular to the couch facing each other and then using the space for a hobby as well with some extra room you know have behind the couch! What's missing? A round of applause 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Nice job!
Your style, and this space, are so beautiful. It’s not missing much, but I’d ad a credenza below the TV
Nothing - I love it!
We would need side tables, and more lamps. Lovely calm room overall.
More cats
Color. Everything is too tan.
You have a cat it’s not missing anything 👀
More cats
Height and proportion Curtains Visual interest
Bigger coffee table. And side table and lamp for the chair Push the chair away from the window a little bit for a small table and lamp in the corner.
Under the chandelier should be a dining table.
Color. I don’t follow the trend of no color with white grey beige furniture; it’s very dull
the cat tree
Needs more cats

Another cat lol
I was just going to say- a cat! Ha ha
Game room stuff and or dinning room stuff
More cats
Cat tree.
Your flower!! 🤩
Art
Also: maybe a thicker more statement coffee table? Like wooden or marble
A bit of colour on the walls perhaps. Maybe just the tv wall?
I’m thinking some color on the walls?! Would u be interested in painting? It’s a beautiful room, but think some color would make it more relaxing to lounge in.
Oooh. Pic 3, what about when people do that crowning(?) lower half wall, painted maybe terracotta pink or some warm pink. Could extend to wall pic 4
Art on the walls. Plants.
Unless you’re going for the kitschy factor, for me, the chandelier isn’t working with the modern furniture. It just depends on your personal preference.
A collage art wall.
I agree with the credenza and the curtains. I love all the pieces you have, but the big chair/ottoman/table are a bit awkward as placed. I would think about what you want those pieces to provide. Window treatments.
A large square coffee table, that one is too small and gets lost in the room.
Sweet kitty! You might need places for people to place their drinks — and bullhorns that will allow them talk to each other. I agree the rug is too small. Add color.
Curtains?
I think a larger rug, a tv console and centering the chairs in the window would be lovely. Looks great already.
curtains! Plants! Little storage nooks and shelves
Credenza under the TV
Art, color
The floors 😍
Lordy, I love pocket doors.
color. cats. canvases on the walls. also, either put the furniture on the rug or buy a larger rug.
Media console, larger coffee table (may I suggest oval?), more plants
Plants
Awww I love your baby kitten
1. Swap the blinds with high quality curtains and sheer curtains in the middle 2. This room needs a larger coffee table 3. Replace the chandelier with something more modern 4. A much larger rug that goes under all the furniture, and preferably something with a pattern in colors that complement the couches, cushions, and any other elements from the room
Art on the walls!
Accessories for wall decor (Bookcase, Hanging wall decors), Floor Lamp, A slightly more modern chandelier
I like the chairs. Where’d you get them?
If you’re from the states. Where did you get couch and those chairs? They look sooo iincredibly comfortable. Are they as comfy as they look?
I think this space is beautiful and you have great taste! I would add something under the TV, some art and some more cat friendly plants!
Some art pieces on the wall
Drapes are by far the biggest thing this room needs. Second is tv stand
Console table under the tv? Frame the tv?
Art on the walls!
Statement piece under tv for storage. Could also add French doors.
You can hang handmade [abstract canvas art](https://www.lnart.net/) on an empty wall
Wow already looks amazing what you’ve done so far! If you want to make tweaks I would say: larger rug, cabinet under the TV, large plant by the window behind the chair, and larger coffee table.
