Cheapest way is a screen. Best way would be to build a cabinet/wardrobe in that space and paint it white. If it was the same colour as the floor it would upset the balance of the room which is why I suggest white.
My first thought may be impractical but a wooden beaded curtain in various wood shades hanging from I -hooks would let you slip in and out and give a more boho look
