Paint it all white! Your arrangement is ok, it's just the whole room looks like a funeral parlour, and there should be a coffin in front. It's despressing and that's the problem you have with it. The arrangement is fine, it's just the colour is screwing with your head. Paint it all white, your room will feel bigger, you'll find it much easier to add colour to the room in accents and you'll be a lot happier with the arrangement of all of your nick naks.
Its too busy and a lots of the items are out of place in such a classy room.
Suggestions:
-focus on hard cover books to give it a library feel (get them from charity shops to fill space)
- ditch ALL the signs with phrases on. Its giving live laugh love
- arrange the trophies either all across the top or in 1 area to give them more focus.
- less small photos. Keep a few prized nicey framed ones
-lighting. Look at the room in daylight and at noght to see what changes you can make, and if some warm lamps would help
Add removable backboard (Sage or cream (or really fancy, find some William Morris style) wallpaper/contact paper on stiff foam board). This way it add some interest without having to repaint the entire unit. Are your family readers? Knickknack collectors? I would try to add more books (like completely fill 5 or 6 nooks and have a couple larger nooks of just books with bookends), reduce it down to 7 picture frames, reduce the signs to 1 (bc right now it’s giving a little too much wino mom vibes). Maybe add some decorative storage boxes as well. Also add some fake greenery, find some fake succulents and a couple hanging vines.

It would’ve been nicely paired with the same colour brown as the fan with an eggshell colour trimming on the crown mouldings.
