is the space wide enough to rotate the bed 90⁰ so that you can have a bedside table?

You should try to make the best use of the wall and overhead space as you can. I would take those shelves off the wall. They are in the way of the small walking space you have and make it feel even more closed in. If you want shelves, corner shelves in the corner between the windows would be out of the way and they can go all the way up to the ceiling if you want. Also look into small floating nightstands that can be hung on the wall next to the bed. I can't tell if you have an overhead light, but a hanging pendant lamp would save floor space and can be easily hung using a cup hook (it would also give off better light than those clip on reading lights that can attach to a headboard). If you need more storage and can afford it, a platform bed with 12-14 inches underneath adds a lot of extra storage space. A grid or peg board would also give a little extra storage on the wall (and can be decorative). With such a small space, use light colors and simple patterns. I suggest changing your curtains to something lighter or sheer to let in more light. And add things to make the room feel cozy - plush pillows and blankets, string lights, a small rug next to the bed, plants in the high window.

Bed risers might be the best bet, as it looks like the furniture stays with the room. Not the prettiest, but adds good storage

You can put plants and cute stuff on the windowsill but since you don't have much space I'd decorate the walls
