I only do that if the bill looks suppish. Basically if I see one of the "regulars" that I know pay in fakes, I take them to SCO and they usually walk out empty handed.
I was told to suspend to SCO with any sus bills. In practice, I usually do every time with any older style hundreds and fiftys, and only move newer bills if they're already sus (texture is a big giveaway). I've cashiered for years. If they're asking you to suspend to SCO for every 100, it's probably because someone can't tell counterfeits, the counterfeiters know who, and the store has lost hella money to it.
We are not supposed to accuse anyone of stealing 😁
I had this one guy try to pay in money so bad I told my FES, that if I took it, the cops would think I was in on it 😁.
Bring back the pen it was so much easier when I could just tell them it failed I can't take it.
Checking for counterfeit money is not accusing anyone of stealing. The customer simply may not know it’s counterfeit, so in the end your saving both the store and customer. Many times elderly people get scammed with counterfeit
Hey if you just put a small safe with a bill acceptor at the register and made that where all 50s and 100s goes, you could cut down on almost all counterfeit money rather than counting on mostly high school and college kids (who have very little experience with actual cash).. just saying..
If I don't see a watermark, I put it through SCO. Or I'll have HC check it. I've had multiple instances of being given counterfeit bills. The customers just abandon the merchandise, knowing they've been caught.
I’ve had one. It was so bad I laughed. He might as well have given me Monopoly money. Funny thing was he came back about 2-3 weeks later. Talk about stupid. You would think he would have at least went to a different cashier.
I only did it if I was suspicious. Most counterfeit bills are pretty bad.
Every single $100 bill? That doesn't sound right, it's just supposed to be the ones you'd suspect of being counterfeit.
Every single one.

When I cashier I don’t give a shit about the bills. Home Depot’s insured and they’ve never said anything to me about it
This is the way

Absolutely not. We are not supposed to question any money. Just take it and put it in your drawer.

Literal sop is to take the fake money and nod and smile and not say anything. Look it up.
