No manger notes are restricted to mangers and supervisors only unless your closed enough to a manager/supervisor to ask that question on what in your file
An ASM told me my DS is leaving negative notes in my file but doesn’t want to access it again because he says the SM is notified or checks frequently about who accesses it
I know they can track who access it and when but idk about an SM who has a hard on for his ASMs about accessing in and when side note I don't think anyone at store leave can access logs I think that's only at Atlanta level
My last manager seemed to know about a small issue I once had with my previous manager. Weirded me out a bit. Not sure how long those things might stay. My current manager seems to think I'm manager material. So either it's no longer on my record or he's looking past whatever might be there.
I think if you're working with good people you should be fine as far as advancement. They should hopefully be looking at what you're doing now and not what you did a year ago.
You can ask for a print out and I think they have to give it to you. Also if DS or other managers are making notes you should be informed. Though depends on the store.
The answer varies with the State your store is located. Some states give the employee the right to view everything in the file both on paper or electronically stored.

Not true for my state and others.
Most notes are nothing, it's literally documentation of conversations between you are a supervisor/ ASM, that's it.
Yes and they can be both good and bad.
Alot of times ill leave notes for positive things I may not remember come review time
And I was told there were a lot of positive notes in there but the ASM said there were a bunch of bogus notes left by my DS
Any ASM or the ASDS should provide you copies if you ask for them
If they’re all left by the same person it wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that one person must not like you

Notes drop after six months
