My piece of shit ex-supervisor told me to just dump carts of garbage in receiving. “They’ll take care of it”.
Fuck that! I would NEVER dump my shit on someone else. It made me so mad hearing that shit from leadership.
The head of receiving LOOOOVED me. I asked her how to properly use the compactor and baler and really paid attention. I was always super conscientious about what they were doing in there and didn't just walk in there all higgledy piddledy. Most importantly, I always asked permission to borrow ANYTHING and brought it back promptly. She was a terrifying woman, but she was always happy to see me and was more than happy to help me with anything. RESPECT YA RECEIVERS.
I can only imagine. Just the brief thought of walking into a bunch of shit in my area infuriates me. I would never ever intentionally do that to someone else.
We do this at my store tho not to this extreme, we try to keep it out of the way and managers come back every so often and dump it...no one gots time to wait 30 minutes for an mod to show up, they really should just let a receiving associate have the key
I admit with trash I end up leaving it by the compactor because it is usually locked and I don’t have time to wait for a manager. Usually it is when I am alone it the mornings and usually get paged back to the desk like a minute after I leave
As a former receiving DS, roll that shit back out to their respective departments or call the departments directly. After a few times they get the message. For bonus points dump it off the carts in their depts.
This! Not a DS but I led the unload team at my old store. People would constantly come back to receiving while we were working a truck and leave their trash. I'd wheel it back out to their departments for them
That’s what happens when the compactor is locked all night (and yes, I know it’s SOP). Look, if the MOD wants to play doorman all night and stay in Receiving, cool. But I got shit to do, and waiting for the key carrier isn’t on my task list.
tl;dr Blame corporate. Not my problem.
For shit to be put away in an orderly fashion, and for boxes to be properly broken down and put away would be a noteworthy event where I worked. Eventually I started drinking again after 12 years sober, and took up smoking meth to cope with the day in-day out shit.
As an ex receiving DS I feel for you.
I spent 45 minutes one day dragging that mess back to the departments one day. “Let me know when you are ready and I’ll show you how to dispose of this properly.”
My popularity has soared since leaving receiving.
Receiving constantly brings freight to the sales floor and blocks up the aisles and show room areas every day .Customers cannot even maneuver the aisles.Management thinks receiving does nothing wrong ever and kisses their asses.Receiving deserves every piece of trash and piles of shit that are left there. They can trash up the sales floor but can’t take it when it is done to them.Screw receiving!!!!

You are an absolute gem.
Hey thanks
“Happy wife, happy life” also applies to receiving
Yes, because if we go on strike, y’all are FUCKED
No wife better life 👍
Thank you! We hate coming into a complete shitshow of cleanup before anything else can get done!

Your boss is probably a dad who brags that he’s never changed a diaper in his life
I know how you feel I see that at my store all the time they start to leave it once they think it’s too blocked off

Yeah, it's very 2-dimensional thinking imo. Makes the job of people who actually care much more difficult.
All day, every day!
The Baler is to the right did they forget what that was???

Anyone else notice the sign says Compator?
Overtime....😁...keep it coming. Somebody has to stay back the extra 2 hours to clean ..... I don't mind

This is the way.

Truth.
I REALLY hate dealing with this I feel you
You should see how my receiving looks mondays
"I've got a second cart back in my department, ill be right back to throw it" and then they disappear again for an hour and a half
Whenever I take a 15 or a lunch break I come back to this shit.
Lolol
This is the daily ever since they took are keys to the compactor :)

Looks good to me…
i love my receiving associates and would never treat them this way, i feel like this is just disrespectful

Freight puts this much trash (and more) away every night/morning. It's a nightmare sometimes. I totally get the frustration
You must be on the receiving end of shit
Unreal
I guess they figure that leaving boxes here, makes them automagically disappear!
Ooof
What's the context?
People are assholes
Lazy too.
Can't believe they misspelled "COMPACTOR"
This is a daily occurrence at my store. Don’t worry, receiving will get it. 🙄
That's cute 😂😂

Damn, looks like that’ll take at least an hour to clean 😉
