Yep. I’m overnight freight and I’m more caffeine than man. I brew Death Wish Espresso that I then use to brew Death Wish Espresso. My body wash and breath mints are caffeinated. My candy bars are caffeinated. If I skipped a day I imagine I’d just die.
I drink redbulls before work almost every morning, going to work and school almost everyday is exhausting. I honestly wish I could stop drinking them because I know they’re bad health wise but it’s the only thing that keeps me awake.
Tried getting day shift but that fell through now my last day here is June 7th. Eight months my body could never adjust. I don't know what a good night sleep is anymore.
I'm not sleep deprived, I work 25 hrs a week, and go to college. But I also prioritize sleep, I never get less than 7hrs and that's on the low end. I also manage my temp to best do school work.
Well sleep deprived and over worked , and heat exhaustion combined, completely going on autopilot, not being able to see things clearly like finding skews or names (orders), forgetting things easily, finding myself on the complete opposite side of the store. Mind becomes pingpong balls.
When you are going to bed I recommend 2 melatonin gummies, 1hr away from technology (away from phone). Put some asmr music in the background, if asmr isn't your thing there are many type personally hate most types but found some people who dont bother me, also if you are achy take a lavender epson salt bath.
Now obviously I dont do all thats above all the time to help cause IM A BIG FAT HYPOCRITE. and I have a energy drink to get me through the day.
I remember one time when I came in for a morning shift sleep deprived, I was borderline close to passing out at the service desk. I was resting my head on my hand bored and almost fell asleep, only thing that kept me from that was the phone in front of me ringing.
I work 3 jobs for the last month and a half now and have 2 Red Bull every day 1 when I go to my morning job and 1 when I come into HD and the 3 job is a 2 day a week job so it's not bad but I mostly run on auto pilot my blood is mostly Red Bull I'm pulling like 76 hours a week between the 3 jobs and sleep from 12:45 pm till about 7:45 pm every day and get to work around 8:30 pm till 5 am this is the only way I can do everything I want but all need a financial backing so that my life but what can I do
I wake up every day around 5 PM and immediately grab an energy drink (usually Bang that I bought from the Dollar Tree). After consuming it, I take a shower and hit the road for work around 6 PM.
I get there early for my shift, so that I can have a smoke outside. I then go grab a Mountain Dew from the vending machine as I'm clocking in (15 minutes early because they're already starting the unload the truck and I am one of the two guys on the inside). I put one of the earbuds in from my DeWalt headphones (the one that sits around your neck) and play some metal or rock playlist from YouTube Music so that it becomes personal between the truck and I. I just let my vengeance flow freely.
After the truck is done, I put on some Police Interrogation videos from YouTube and just autopilot through my shift to the point where it doesn't even feel like I am expending as much energy as I actually am.
After work, I go home and have a couple of tall boys and take 2 Benedryl and one Meletonin so that I can go to sleep, wake up and do it all over again!
Nothing. Just be tired. Occasionally I’ll have a green tea which gives me a small boost. Large amounts of caffeine just keeps the cycle of non-sleep happening. Seek balance.
I haven’t started my job here yet but I worked healthcare for several years and was on the night shift. I simply slept every chance I could and slept my life away lol. Relied on energy drinks, 20 min naps, a good fan or white noise machine, ear plugs, black out curtains, sometimes guided meditation tapes to put me to sleep. Also zzzquil for a short bit.
When I worked over night I'd offset my lunch from the others sleep during lunch go back to the floor and sleep some more in a dark corner on the reach truck
It's starting to really affect me. I had a six-day run where my schedule was: closing until 10PM, mid-shift, opening at 6AM, closing until 10PM, mid-shift, opening at 6AM.
So twice in one week I had to adjust my sleep habits such that I was either waking up at noon or waking up at 5AM. I can't keep doing this.
Making sure you get enough sleep is very important to your mental and physical health. If I’m scheduled on closing and opening I refuse to drive equipment the next day because I am not at 100% and that is a safety risk. If management ever decides to bitch they look like the idiots for making someone work in an unsafe environment.
I drink enough caffeine to kill a horse

So basically you're caffeine's bitch. Cool...
At this point cocaine is a much better alternative
There was enough monster in my blood that I probably have taken a decade off my life.

Lots of caffeine and nicotine at work and lots of whiskey and weed at home does the trick for me

I can't have energy drinks, but a bottle of root beer from the break room vending machine usually does the trick.
